The dad scene was tense because Cher had to change the particles he normally uses to talk like saying "khap" instead of "Ja" (which is gender neutral but more commonly used by women). Yak and Oyei did too because they used the particle "khap" when talking to their dad instead of the softer particle "kha" (typically used by women or musicians in lyrics). It shows their relationship with their father either not being that close or that their dad might be a little toxic masculine.

Cher has become one of my favorite characters on this show. I think he is aware of much more than he ever lets on, and that very little actually gets by him. I hope we do finally get some more explanation of Yak’s trauma (and Dee’s trauma, while we’re at it). And a little more about Kao’s asexuality would be nice, too.

In the novel, Sasaki speaks no Thai; he and Yak talk by passing the Google Translate app back and forth. Luke speaking insanely aggressive Japanese & Thai is honestly a perfect novel-to-screen adaptation to have the same effect 😭😭😭😭 Unhinged

I think why Doc Dee was holding out to officially start dating Yoryak was because I think he wants to deal with Yak's TRAUMA and wants him to continue taking therapy for that which he made him make a promise before they start "officially dating". Fair enough, NOT that they haven't already been acting like established couples since last 2 episodes. LOL🥰😂

Dee, stop playing games. Some rules are meant to be broken, lighten up a little. In reality, Yak would have put up with your behavior for a little while and then got tired of all the rules/games and moved on. But in the series, as long as you give him "rewards" (for expressing genuine feelings or successfully completing a life skill) it seems to be ok? 😒😳
