“All I Need” live Multicam with Director

- This is a live Multicam on the second night of this recording. Even though I edited this all in post I helped force the edit by directing it live as well. It also gives the client something to watch right away and the Mix engineers have something to watch while they mix!

Ok, this very much has the visual narrative that is typical for this kind of church service, so I am not saying the way this was setup is wrong in the cultural context. But for me the lack of main camera with a MS or MCU tends to give a bit detached feeling, like I am watching at the worship leader engaging the congregation instead of being part of the congregation.
Oh and I do agree that even if you do edit in post from iso recordings, you have to direct it live because there is no way the camera ops can time their shots properly just right by themselves.

can you make tutorial about how to swich between cameras? and how to use blackmagic studio atem?
Why does cam 1 hold preview tally while live jumps around? Does your switcher not require go to preview before going live?
Most switchers you can “hot cut”. I keep a wide shot on preview so I can see the room.
