  • TAPintoTV spoke with Suzy Minken of Compass New Jersey about a new home in Chatham, NJ and why she hosted an Appreciation Day event for the local neighborhood.
After nine months of construction, 94 Elmwood Avenue is completed and open on Appreciation Day. “I wanted people in the neighborhood and the community to come and see how gorgeous this house is,” Minken explained. “I wanted them to see what a wonderful addition it is to the community.”
Suzy hosted an open house for the neighborhood with the help of Matt Keane of Guaranteed Rate. “I sponsored the ice cream truck to come to say thank you to the people in the neighborhood for what went on over the past nine months with the building of the lot,” Keane said.
During the in-person thank-you gathering, Minken asked the neighbors what their favorite features of the house were. “They love the window tower, all the beautiful moldings, and the high ceilings,” Minken said.
Keane told TAPintoTV about his favorite feature of the house. “One of the things I love about this property is the fact that it sits right across the street from the grammar school here in town (Milton Avenue School),” Keane said.
“94 Elmwood happens to be a very very special home because it’s the only property that faces the grammar school,” Minken explained. “The architect gave a serious thought to how the facing side would be to the elementary school.”
Because the COVID restrictions were only recently lifted, this was one of the first community gatherings. “It was so fun to see the people come through here, say hello to their neighbors. Everyone was just feeling really good,” Minken said.
Minken asked the neighbors what they love about their Chatham community. ”They talked about the people, the sense of community, and the walkability factor,” Minken said.
Keane told TAPintoTV that he agrees Chatham is unique. “I think what stands out to me about the community is that it’s 20 miles outside of New York City, but it has that hometown feel,” Keane explained. “Aside from having phenomenal schools, it’s just a great family neighborhood, a great place to call home.”
