I love how the courthouse, easily the most stress-inducing fight of the game, is also the only fight that's quite literally not actually happening and thus should not be able to kill you. The game really doubled down on the FU energy there.
The Nightmare! level in the Freedom Chronicles DLC is worse, I'd say. Zero cover, a literal wall of fire surrounding you and enemies start shooting at you before you can even properly see them. The only upside is the related achievement is tied to challenge mode and not the main story so you can keep hammering away at it. Makes the Courthouse look like a breeze.

A few tips that people should know for Mein Leben: -Fergus Timeline is recommended, The LKW is really good -A well placed LKW Charged shot can instantly destroy a Zitadelle and Zerstorer -The Courthouse is easy if you keep moving, despite what people would say -Choose the Constrictor Harness, Stealth will save your life -Dont underestimate the power of the Ubergewehr
I disagree with the harness pick after the courthouse, but that's because the health overcharge was way more helpful when things went sideways, but if you can avoid getting scene at all it wouldn't be needed. That's a tall ask though 😂 It all comes down to executing a strategy though, so anything can work if you're prepared for that case
@@coltforceplayer It's definitely useful! I just kept getting detected LOL, so the extra health was super helpful as a first choice after The Courthouse. Ideally having them all would be the move lool

Never heard of you before, but you suddenly popped up in my recommended. I loved this vid. Your story telling by combining both post commentary and live gameplay was amazingly done
The fact that people are actually beating this on console with controller is insane. This game made me sell my Xbox and switch back to a PC again because to me shooters like these seemed close to impossible with the limited possibilities of analog stick movement. The speed and precision you can get from a mouse just cannot be matched and that's why doing stuff like this on controller takes so much more skill. I'd argue that the skill ceiling with mouse/keyboard is slightly higher but the fact that you've reached this level already is fantastic. Congrats and thanks for proving that input device choice indeed is a choice and that it should require skill instead of an overpowered aim assist.
I'm SIGNIFICANTLY better with mouse and keyboard, so this was definitely eye opening for me as well. Especially when duel wielding and not having aim assist. It really makes you wish you could whip around and 1 tap the enemies with a mouse lol
Woooooooow what a fuckin achievement!!! You're a damn legend, in the truest sense of the word. This shit was the atuff of legends. Your story will be told for eons, your legacy solidified in time immemorial. That was so fucking cool dude! Congratulations on a truly monumental achievement!
that was fun to watch it, thank you for sharing. but "mein leben" is from the first Wolfenstein, if you killed a blue soldier they yelled "mein leben" back in the days you heard this only if you had a soundcard in your system. pc speaker sound forever....
Its called mein leben because the enemies in the old wolfenstein had that as their (only) death quote so every enemy you killed would say it and it was so funny
Those unskippable cutscenes are unskippable for a reason: They're loading screens. Instead of a loading screen with a progress bar, you're presented with plot exposition. Also, I vaguely remember that you can find a path to the bottom of the elevator in roswell, avoiding combat the whole way up. I might be misremembering though, because that was 7 years ago.
Cutscenes that last minutes don't count as loading screens haha, but I know what you mean. And to your point about Roswell, I'm not sure, but that sounds useful haha
31:45 For anyone attempting Mein Leben (YOU CAN DO IT!), there's a way to skip the big robot fight here. Take it low and slow. Same path Morgan took at this part, but crouch walk. If you make a beeline to the room up the stairs at a crouch walk pace, both commanders should be in this room. Kill them both before the alarm activates, and the big guy won't show up :)

But hell yeah, New Blood & New Colossus (and Old Blood too) were such fun games!
Cool reference and I like the meaning being My Life, it being a permadeath difficulty
More like canadians say Eh?
So my Lehben
Yeah he's saying it like "lieben," which means "love." Could still work I guess but definitely not the same.
It's not pronounced Layben wtf
@@GigiBranconiOf course it is, wtf. Sprechen sie Deutsch?
Man this gave me second hand anxiety like a mfer. Great job dude. I wonder if the devs will end up watching this, This is the first time I’ve seen somebody do it, I always thought it was put there as a joke because of how exhausting the cut scenes are, and how ridiculous the hardest difficulties are. This is a game where you die often on normal, let alone becoming a real life terror Billy. 10/10, subbed.
It might be one of the most viewed Mein Leben runs, so that would hella sick if they watched it! Also, welcome to the basement!
Popped in my recs. Legit impressed by your dedication and commitment. Your skill. But most of all you remind me of like, earlier achievement RUclips and like even my own friends back in the day.
You remind me an old friend of mine in the best way. I remember when I beat Gears 1 in insane. It was such an incredible feeling. Can’t even imagine how this felt like.
Keep this good hearted and intense energy. It’s extremely genuine. Have a great day and congrats.
Saying I gave you some nostalgia to OG achievement hunting is the highest praise, so I appreciate that!
I'm still figuring out my style, but I'm gunning for exactly what you described! And if you liked this video, then the all Hollow Knight achievements video that's coming up next is gunna get you hyped!
I was reminiscing of this game because I haven't played this or the other ones since they came out. This was super fun to watch. It's crazy to think this game is nearly a decade old. Hell, TNO is already a decade old. Fun times. Glad this was recommended to me on YT.
I appreciate that you checked it out! It's crazy that time has passed so quickly, but thankfully the gameplay holds up
This just got recommended to me, and I wish it had sooner especially when I was playing Mein Leben! Lmao good stuff!
I'm a big fan of your content and your discord sever, so I'm glad this got sent to you by the algo gods!
Fair play! Not an easy achievement to get even after the patches.
For anybody that may have gave up on this in the first few months after launch and may still want to 100% the game, definitely go back! They released a number of patches that made death incarnate/mein leben much less punishing than what it was at release.
I hadn't played the game prior to this, so I wasn't aware it was tougher before. That sounds like a nightmare 😂
The fact 2 of your 4 deaths were in the first couple mins of the game is mind blowing.
That wheel chair section is kinda hard lol, I should've practiced it like I practiced the second half. I might've knocked those deaths off the tally
@@morgansbasement Well I return 11 days and 32 attempts later having finally got Mein Leben. Man some of the tips in this video really did help me. Although I did end up fighting and killing everything in the final boss fight, just to make sure I had the greatest chance of a heart attack. So glad it's done though.
@@steerj07 Lets go dude! It comes down to planning and perseverance, which sounds like what you focused on. I'll celly on your behalf, congrats!
@@morgansbasement Thanks man. Considering for every million people who've played it on Xbox, only 200 have Mein Leben'd I'm pretty chuffed to be in the club
We're strolling into the club together here!
The video was so well done and engaging, thank you for the amazing content, sub
I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
Damn that had me on the edge of my seat. Can't imagine the anxiety of actually playing through those later levels, congratulations man, you earned it
Thank you, buddy!
Amazing video, you are literally the main character lmao. The way you explained everything made this video incredibly easy to follow along with and it felt like a movie when I watched it all. Great fucking work dude!
Thank you very much! I have another one of these coming out this week, so stay tuned, my friend!
Dude, that was entertaining as hell to watch. I can't believe you pulled that off in only 4 deaths, but mad props to you. I remember my first playthrough of this game took me a couple weeks to finish (just playing at night after work). I can't even imagine trying to sit down and run the game start to finish in a single session haha.
I was also doing it after/before work, so I completely get what you mean!
Dawg I seriously enjoyed the whole video and would love to see more stuff like this. Thank you 🙏
I gotchu! The next video isn't a permadeath run, but there should be another permadeath achievement after that. Stay tuned, and thanks for the support!
A few tips that people should know for Mein Leben:
-Fergus Timeline is recommended, The LKW is really good
-A well placed LKW Charged shot can instantly destroy a Zitadelle and Zerstorer
-The Courthouse is easy if you keep moving, despite what people would say
-Choose the Constrictor Harness, Stealth will save your life
-Dont underestimate the power of the Ubergewehr
I disagree with the harness pick after the courthouse, but that's because the health overcharge was way more helpful when things went sideways, but if you can avoid getting scene at all it wouldn't be needed. That's a tall ask though 😂 It all comes down to executing a strategy though, so anything can work if you're prepared for that case
@@morgansbasement The Terror Billy thing for the Harness allows you to silently kill Supersoldaten if u have the Magnum upgrade, it's really useful
@@coltforceplayer It's definitely useful! I just kept getting detected LOL, so the extra health was super helpful as a first choice after The Courthouse. Ideally having them all would be the move lool
@@morgansbasement yeah everything goes back to The Courthouse, definitely the most memorable part of the game
if you keep moving in the courthouse you still get hit. enemies dont miss.
You just became my spirit animal with: "Kill the guy in the middle, then the guy on the right... and then the guy... in the other middle!"... Nice one, and somehow I understood, general! Great video, btw.
LMFAO these are the thoughts we have when things are about to get hairy
My god, how do you have only 900 subs ? The editing, humour and gameplay, ITS PERFECT. This man deserves 1 mil !
Ahaha that's the energy I like to see! We'll build it up brick by brick!
Even if sadly he doesn't have 1M sub, he does have 1M view and well deserved !! That video was awesome ! =)
Well 28K now hahaha
for the conveyor belt section on Venus you can use suppressed weapons and they wont spot you! hot tip for anyone who is attempting this too
"Mein Leben" = "Mine Lay-ben" = "My Life"
"Mein Lieben" = "Mine Lee-ben" = "My Dear" (edit : approximately, it's mostly mangled German, read the replies for details.)
Meine Liebe*
@@bastel19951 You are correct, "Mein Lieben" is plural = "My Dears."
@@TehAwesomer No it's not
That would be "Meine Lieben"
"Mein Lieben" would be somewhat "My Loving" where loving is the noun.
Could be a book title or something but makes no real sense.
@@RainerLP Thanks for the corrections. Primary point was that he was pronouncing the word wrong. :)
Looking through these comments, I'm starting to wonder if anyone actually knows how to speak German.
The way this was narrated, the live commentary all of it and I thought you were a larger RUclipsr I can’t wait till you take off and you definitely gained a sub for me
I really appreciate the kind words! If you like this video then the next one coming out will blow your socks off!
As someone who has 100% the game and it's dlc mein leben runs, LEAN IS SO IMPORTANT, also at the first ausmerzer section, take your time and use the lasergewehr heavy weapon throughout the entire first mission after killing the super soldat and getting it
I learned early how important the lean is 😂. This is some solid advice 👌
Didn't play the game and never heard of this channel before but after that vid I just had to sub 😂 well done man
Thank you my friend!
I prefer the new order and old blood to this one but the mein leben challenge is really cool to do and this difficulty doesn’t exist in the previous game, great video
Thanks for checking the video out! I haven't played the new order, so I definitely need to do that on the channel. I was a big fan of old blood though, so I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was great!
The funny thing is people were trying to get achievement changed. But there were people who already did it and were told no
@@Judgementxxx Achievement redaction/changes have happened sub 10 times, so I'm not surprised it wasn't changed
Dude this video was awesome! Always good to see another achievement hunter on here with no respect for their mental well-being haha
I really appreciate that! I genuinely really enjoy your content, and I felt inspired to do something tough after watching you put up with *the species that shall not be named* runs. Thanks again for checking out the video!

That was awesome! Well done. I am in the process of training for this run. I am about to start my second bootcamp (2nd half of the game). Watching people achieve this, motivates me.
Thanks, I appreciate you checking it out! I saw the video where you said you'd be platinuming Wolf 2, and I know you can do it. 2 days of good practice, and you'll definitely be able to clean it up!

Absolutely great stuff! After watching this and the dlc video I was inspired to do a mein leben run as well. Finally got it done after a lot of tries. Hats off to anyone who's done it! Keep making great videos.
Love to hear it dude!
Wow. This is so impressive! I would not have the patience or skill to do the same lol.
You earned a sub❤
Thank you, buddy!
Haven’t played this game in a while but after seeing the fun gunplay again I‘ll try and see if I can get this achievement aswell also first time seeing a vid of yours and I’m staying to see more

@@morgansbasement thanks but I already finished the game maybe 2 years back but seeing your vid reminded me of all the fun I had with it and while I’m at it might as well try to 100% it. Downloading rn
This achievement is insane as is. But wow doing it on a controller is some next level cock and ball torture.
It's a tough job out there, but someone has to do it on the sticks!
This is what true men are made of
Marvellous work. You've more than earned it. Kudos!
Perfect opportunity to name this difficulty "Mein Kampf" why they didn't, I will never know..
To reference the old wolfenstein 3d
@@AndrewCiao, no fucking shit, but the historical reference would have been better.
This was a lot of fun to watch, well done
OMG I'm half way through the video and just realized hes doing this on a CONTROLLER. WOW.
Dang, you also did this crazy achievement congrats. I also beat this on Mein Leben. I somehow managed to hurt myself with tomahawk. No joking. When I wanted to throw it, it touched the wall and it came back to me and I almost died. Congrats man
The tomahawk physics are completely random, so Im not surprised 😂
I'll also have the Max Payne 3 permadeath up at the end of this week, so if you like this kind of stuff I have an injection coming your way

0 saves permadeath difficulties are my favourite in any game! (Even though I'm not always capable of doing it)
I like them alot too! It gives me an equal sense of dread and excitement. Low key kinda addicting
I was struggling really hard playing on do or die on my first playthrough, even then it was a frustrating loading screen simulator so I can't even imagine how brutal this is even if there was no permadeath
Thankfully I only died 4 times, so I didn't have to reach the depths of frustration lmao
I beat the previous game on Uber, but had to switch to the second lowest difficulty as it was just ridiculous at launch
@@MrNegativecreep07 i played it at launch. i had no idea they made it easier.
What a legend....!!! Must be one of the best videos I've seen in ages.
Thank you, Eddie!
if I tried this my controller would be non existent
If I had died at the end, then I would've had to stop at Best Buy to get a new one the next day lmao, so I feel you on that
Never heard of you before, but you suddenly popped up in my recommended. I loved this vid. Your story telling by combining both post commentary and live gameplay was amazingly done
I'm glad you popped in and enjoyed yourself!
Man thats true gamer commitment. 6:22 on a monday. Ive been there too man! The serotinin levels are off the charts ahahah
0:15 it’s point zero two of gamers have not zero point two
Woooooooow what a fuckin achievement!!! You're a damn legend, in the truest sense of the word. This shit was the atuff of legends. Your story will be told for eons, your legacy solidified in time immemorial. That was so fucking cool dude! Congratulations on a truly monumental achievement!
00:14 you said 'zero point two', it's actually 'point zero two'.. 0.2 ≠ .02

that was fun to watch it, thank you for sharing. but "mein leben" is from the first Wolfenstein, if you killed a blue soldier they yelled "mein leben" back in the days you heard this only if you had a soundcard in your system. pc speaker sound forever....
Adding the disclaimer for the sound card is actually funny, cause I imagine there are a ton of people that never even heard this haha
What impresses me most about this, is that you did it with a freakin' controller.
Just way till I play Doom with a controller
Absolute art, as a souls Bourne try hard this is just beautiful

Thank YOU for checking it out!
The giant metal dogs have made me feel indescribable fear
I wasn't subscribed to your channel until now... that run deserves a like and the subscription, holy fuck that was epic!
I'm glad you liked it! It was a CRAZY night
It's mine layben rather than mine leeben, the latter means my love.
Arma 3 players when they see you die in one bullet be like “First time?”
Deserved achievement. Now unlock the Google Translate achievement and press the sound icon to hear how you should pronounce MEIN LEBEN. Thanks for uploading. GG.
