Momentum, I bet they start off by pulling it to one side with something really heavy, then release it and start using motors to keep it rocking back and forth at the speed its going

@@eageraurora879 No, they don‘t. Two motors are used to swing this bell back and forth. Also, the way this bell is hung makes it easier to swing.

No? York Minster’s heaviest bell, Great Peter, weighs 10.8 tons and sounds a different tone. Plus this bell and Great Peter were cast by two different foundries. John Taylor & Co. of Loughborough in 1927.

I think that at least 7-8 people. Bell have almost 15700 kg, so it's necessary to give a lot of effort for that. For example, in my cathedral in Zagreb is located big bell from 1843, weight 6454 kg. For ringing with that bell was necessary 6-8 people. Similar situation was with old Emperor's bell/Kaiserglocke in Köln. Bell had 26 250 kg and to start to swing and ring was necessary 28 people to pull the ropes so bell can start to ring for 12 to 15 minutes, but after first electrification, it was necessary just 40 seconds. I mentioned examples, but they shows how difficult is to ring by rope
