You are correct, the main reason for FiberGlass for not getting popular was cost. Earlier the steel prices were very low and FiberGlass production was very less so the price gap was very high. But of late, steel prices have increased and production of FiberGlass has increased dramatically after Indian government has started using in its projects so now it has become economically viable. Your observation is correct about usage in house construction. It cannot be used in vertical columns as its compressive strength is less but it can be used in flooring and other applications such as footpaths, retaining walls and swimming pools.
This can't be used for beams and columns where the BM and SF are max. Due to the poor ductility of FCG rebar, as shown there is no point of yield in stress and strain graph. What we say FE500D or FE550D in TMT bar is the yield strength not the ultimate strength. But they saying >1000N/mm2 is the ultimate strength. While designing we consider yield strength not the ultimate strength, so as a structural engineer I don't suggest this for structural members of critical sections. May be we can use it for small structure and non important structure, not advisable for high rise building

We have used tmt for more than 20 years, it never rusts immediately. Oxidation happens in open ambient conditions not in closed concrete packed conditions.

I used to analyse this fibre rod in our PG Projects though it have high strength than steel we won't recommend this because incase of fire it will melt fast than steel

Yes, this material is extensively used by Solar EPC folks. The holes can be easily punched here. You will save on paint and prime cost + this is lifelong rust-free!
My worry is that none of my network in south India is using these profiles , on megawatt scale. I am worried about the c bend and the wave formation cos of caving in .

You can not use it for any heavy industrial structures. You can use it for flooring application where risk is not involved. This is used in heavy fan handling structures where cooling of chemical water is required and in large corrosive environment. For residential multistorey buildings, it is not recommended.

It has good bonding strength with concrete. You can use normal binding wire like TMT bars. At some places you can use plastic ties as well.
