I love how happy u get when u see your fruits and vegetables growing in your garden. I bought a house in the suburbs of NY not quite two yrs ago and the backyard looked so baaad and abandoned. I think that’s what turned off buyers before me. But I saw potential in it and now it’s a show piece. I don’t grow vegetables just flowers and it’s so beautiful back there. I myself can not believe the before and after. So I understand how u feel when u look at things growing in your beautiful garden 🥰

@ericab936, first of all, thank you so much for being here! I get you. We took one property in the city, from frumpy to fine! We sold it and bought our country property. It is just over one acre, sometimes it feels like more!
I would love to see photos of your property! I is really so rewarding when you turn 'trash' into 'treasure'. I can see you puttering around your garden and smiling!
My one challenge in the countryside is an abundance of weeds! I have a plan to use weed cloth extensively, along with wood chips/mulch. One day at a time, we will get there.
By the way, do you have any plans to do any veggies or fruits? 🥰

@@lifeatthepetalplaceproperty I covered the entire garden with weed cloth and mulch so for now I am weed free. I do have some peppermint, scallions, tomatoes, sweet peppers and dasheen in large pots and they produced well for me this yr. But that’s it. I’m sticking mainly with perennial flowers with a few annuals here and there as fill ins. 😊

@ericab936 Nice, so you do grow veggies and tea. I, too, like my perennial flowers.
I am going to need a whole bunch of weed cloth. I am trying to figure out the best one that is cost-effective. I bought some from Temu to try.

Your potatoes are growing nicely. Thank you for explaining about the potatoes flowering and picking them to redirect energy back to the tubers. You will have a tasty meal with the summer squash, The patty pan are delicious too.

@auntiesgarden4592 thank you! I am hopeful for a good potato harvest.
I diced the patty pan and Summer Squash, sprinkled them with a little ground black pepper and pink salt, with some olive oil. Placed them on parchment paper in a sheet pan, stick it in the oven and baked until tender, skin and all. I topped off with some shredded cheese and it was GOOD! 😋
