Okay despite the college admissions scandal, Aunt Becky is still my favorite character! She always was, and always will be. Right after the story broke, I felt sad and didn't know what to do. But, I realized that Aunt Becky is a character and she is not the same as Lori Loughlin. Lori might've done those awful things, but Rebecca didn't, so I still really enjoy her character a lot!
Does anyone else think that she kind of changed after she got married and moved to the Tanner house? At first she seemed a bit shy and and stuff like that. But later she'd became bigger character, more pert and a little sassy. Don't take me wrong, she's my favorite character but I feel like living with the Tanners changed her somehow.
I think it comes down to two possible reasons: 1) The writers wanted to show an evolution of Becky in her relationship; she went from a shy girl out of Nebraska to a brand new job with Danny and a new relationship with Jesse, and doesn't know the family too well so she is cautious, but after she got married, moved in and had the twins, she's more connected, more relaxed, and free to show all aspects of herself. 2) Writers typically start a new character with a few lines and not much to say because they are figuring out who she is; the longer she is on the show, the more they know Becky AND Lori (actress who plays her), which means they can write for her in a better, sassy way. To expand on that, I think it was great the girls had Becky as they got older because, as great it was to tell the story of three men raising little girls, it's easier for any parent to tackle the issues CHILDREN experience, as opposed to adolescent and teenage girls, who may benefit (although not require) from having an older female figure around to address the issues. DJ went to Becky on relationship advice, Michelle went to her when she thought she couldn't race go-karts as a girl, etc. And as a female figure, she knows how to not just console them, but validate them, relate to them and take their concerns seriously. Finally, Becky was great at dispelling rumors and stereotypes about women in general. She knew about hockey and gave the commentary when Jesse didn't know (you saw that in this clip), she ALONE helped Michelle build her go-kart for the soap box derby, she does plenty of things that would've been considered "masculine", but she did them WELL and without suppressing her own feminity.
The college scandal thing aside, I find I can't root for her and Jesse as a "ship." All the episodes focusing on them seem to highlight how different they are (such as Dumb Guy and Breaking Up is Hard to Do.) And somehow they were supposed to have a magic that was more important than all that. I find that with several couples on older shows I have re-watched.

You’ve worked hard your who life to get into an Ivy League school and then you hear that some rich pricks pay their way into college
That is a good point. At the same time, that scene, where she helps trap him, almost shows a naughty side of Becky - even if it is for a good cause, in that case. While I'm sure they would never show the character of Becky actually doing what Lori did, at the same time, her character wasn't so perfect that the news about Lori was a total contradiction (at least, for me.)

Well I'm not here to comment on the scandal, but I will say this: Lori Loughlin helped save Full House from cancellation, I mean think about it, when the show 1st came out the ratings were not that good as it was at #70, but when she had a recurring role in Season 2, the ratings went up at cracked the Top 40 and it even beat Family Ties in the Nielsen Ratings and when she became a full time cast member, the show stayed in the Nielsen Ratings Top 25 for the remainder of the series which includes 4 straight years in the Top 20 and for the 1st 2 seasons on Tuesday Nights, it CRACKED the Nielsen Ratings Top 10 and during the 5th season, not only did it crack the Top 10, but it finally beat The Cosby Show, A Different World, Empty Nest and The Golden Girls in the Nielsen Ratings
also, I wanna add this: Andrea Barber & Jodie Sweetin as Kimmie Gibbler & Stephanie Judith Tanner were the backbones behind Full House and on Fuller House, they stole the show

Nah, I came here after watching the new Bluray reissue of RAD and wanted to reminisce on how hot she looked on Full House. There was an episode back in season 6: “Be True to Your Preschool” where Uncle Jesse lied to get his sons Nicky and Alex to enroll preschool. Aunt Becky discovered what he did for their twins and did what Lori Loughlin couldn’t do and should have done in the first place..... Tell the truth!

For those of you commenting on Lori’s criminal behavior, you have to separate the character from the actress. You shouldn’t let her personal schemes get in the way of loving the character of Aunt Becky. I grew up watching the show and I admired Lori’s character, but I’m not gonna boycott full house over it. Lori did full house before her daughters were even born and before she married her partner in crime Mossimo. So don’t let your childhood be “ruined” because Lori was trying let their daughters have a better future at the expense of a hardworking athlete.

For those of you commenting on Lori’s criminal behavior, you have to separate the character from the actress. You shouldn’t let her personal schemes get in the way of loving the character of Aunt Becky. I grew up watching the show and I admired Lori’s character, but I’m not gonna boycott full house over it.
Lori did full house before her daughters were even born and before she married her partner in crime Mossimo.
So don’t let your childhood be “ruined” because Lori was trying let their daughters have a better future at the expense of a hardworking athlete.
