Correct, in the heat of the moment, everyone on a band wagon, but it's also, a rule that is stupid, Max lifted for like 3 secs, car didn't even slow down, but, by the rules that's OK, we're here, because the FIA had bring your kid to work day, and that kid thought it'd be funny to see how long it would be there until someones car exploded and had a massive pile up at 360kms an hour.

Nah us McLaren and Norris fans are pissed that the only reason Lando was in that unfortunate position was because the FIA refused to put out the VSC or safety car to clear up the mess. Never was a a yellow but an instant VSC as the mirror was on the only overtake line in this track. Penalty was warranted as unfortunate as it is but they should’ve given it ASAP so we could at least serve it before the FIA decided to bunch up all the cars with a safety car that was inevitably going to happen when someone inevitably drives over it. Race Director did poor here. Stewards were justified here however I still doing understand how Verstappen wasn’t given the 10s stop/go in Mexico for that turn 7 incident. Still very inconsistent stewarding but id much rather it be more stricter than not as Verstappen will have to fix up his wheel to wheel antics for next season too

I don't get whining about the penalty. If you see yellow flags, you react to them. Simple as that. This was also double yellow. Not gonna argue lando getting a penalty, but 10s S&P felt excessive, 20s pen would be better. My issue is that the difference of a pen and not is lifting 5-10km/h at 300+ km/h. It is basically just a “hey look at my metrics, there was technically a lift”. Either they lift properly or don’t at all. Got to see max throttle trace and it was a 11% throttle lift over 1-3 seconds. Most other cars I guess are similar but we did not the data in those. But that is not a lift in my opinion. Add a delta they have to follow and really reduce the speed properly if it is a double yellow .
There was a Yellow for no reason on the Straight. Definitely not a 30 second Pen. You can crash into someone on purpose and maybe get a 10 second pen. It way to harsh for not lifting on a straight

That's Lando's fault. The issue here, which is greater than Lando's harsh but correct penalty, is why the hell they thought that to have a carbon fiber and glass side mirror sitting in the middle of the track, furthermore in the only place in the track where drivers can overtake and therefore they don't follow the normal line, was fine! They didn't anything to clear the track!!

It’s a situation that shouldn’t even have happened. “The FIA got one decision right this year” yeah, after multiple laps of ignoring a safety hazard that ended up severely damaging 3 cars. All they had to do was put out the VSC for 30 seconds to let a marshal run out and pick up the mirror, but they didn’t.
@@jk844100 the thing is it is not allowed for marshals to walk onto the track under VSC. So I said before we should implement the Full Course Yellow System from WEC, ---kph limiter. So the gaps cant change and the marshals can clear the track.

Thats the tough part about these regs. The MB was so much slower than the RB compared to the sprint race. Max could get pole in qualifying yet struggled with the sprint. These cars have a small setup window. Think car performance will be track specific.

SAINZ and LH didn’t get a puncture. They got a BLOWN LEFT FRONT TYRE due too driving too long on that tyre. Remember 2021? When Bottas and both Williams also had LEFT FRONT BLOW OUTS?! Its due to stress and driving over 30 laps with heavy fuel!! It had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEBRIS! The debris was on the right side of the track. The BLOWN TYRES WERE THE LEFT FRONT TYRES, just as in 2021….
Probably both are true, that debris scattered everywhere so some of it easily could've made it to the left side of the track, combine that with very thin running tyres and voila. All of it happening at the same time would've been strange to be a total coincidence.

Max drove 259 km/h at the double yellow, while Lando drove 323km/h so it was a fair penalty.

There was a Yellow for no reason on the Straight. Definitely not a 30 second Pen. You can crash into someone on purpose and maybe get a 10 second pen. It way to harsh for not lifting on a straight
@@Infigo96In this case, Lando's penalty unfortunately was applied according to the rules as the 10s stop & go is the standard penalty for not slowing down under double yellow flags, which he clearly didn't as he gained 0.8s on Max in that lap. That's Lando's fault.
The issue here, which is greater than Lando's harsh but correct penalty, is why the hell they thought that to have a carbon fiber and glass side mirror sitting in the middle of the track, furthermore in the only place in the track where drivers can overtake and therefore they don't follow the normal line, was fine! They didn't anything to clear the track!!

He has no one to blame for but himself. And it's not the first time someone gets that harsh of a penalty for ignoring yellow flags either.

Thats the tough part about these regs. The MB was so much slower than the RB compared to the sprint race. Max could get pole in qualifying yet struggled with the sprint. These cars have a small setup window. Think car performance will be track specific.

It was an out lap not a push lap, yet Max got a penalty where others have gotten away. Karma, karma for the way Russell snitched, Karma for Mexico, penalize Max and he will give it back on and off the track. Penalties should be fair to all, they want to punish Max for being super good.

SAINZ and LH didn’t get a puncture. They got a BLOWN LEFT FRONT TYRE due too driving too long on that tyre. Remember 2021? When Bottas and both Williams also had LEFT FRONT BLOW OUTS?! Its due to stress and driving over 30 laps with heavy fuel!!
It had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEBRIS! The debris was on the right side of the track. The BLOWN TYRES WERE THE LEFT FRONT TYRES, just as in 2021….
Utter rubbish, Toto Wolf confirmed that Hamilton and Sainz were the first two to run through the debris and it punctured their tires.
Probably both are true, that debris scattered everywhere so some of it easily could've made it to the left side of the track, combine that with very thin running tyres and voila. All of it happening at the same time would've been strange to be a total coincidence.
