Love this setup compared to the traditional hutches and wire floors! Of course the idea that these rabbits will be used as feeders is sad, but that’s nature. snakes got to eat, and this seems like a much better option:)

more or less just starting my rabbit breeding for my snakes - very interesting stuff seeing you truly care even for your feeders! what food do you use? Here in Europe rabbit food is really expensive - any ideas on how to cut the costs a bit?

Rabbits love to eat grass, leaves, small twigs/bark so in the growing season you could pick weeds, grasses, shrubs and etc to supplement their diet

Since this video I've added another square pen. Ive started going around the walls and driving metal rebar and fiberglass rods down about 2ft to keep em in.

Everyone’s a expert lmao some of these comments. I’m positive he doesn’t enjoy killing rabbits, and I’m shure he doesn’t get off on feeding them off. He’s a snake keeper of large constrictors until some of you morons have felt the power of a 14ft burm, or retic in full food mode I suggest you keep your comments to yourself. That’s why people with experience throw prey in cages etc a large constrictor in feed mode can kill you, and if they wrap your arms and you can’t unwind the tail your f..cked stop with the comments to this dude I have large snakes I’ve watched him he knows what he’s doing, and he does these things to care for his reptiles and keep himself safe in the process. Keep doing what yer doing bro and for all the people that assume all retics and burms eat ft they clearly don’t have a large collection and never experienced a snake going off food sometimes it’s what we gotta do to get them back on track and no we don’t enjoy it! Said my piece I watch yer vids the haters are just annoying! Live feeding happens sometimes it’s the dirty little secret nerd and others don’t talk about they all do it guaranteed this dude just doesn’t sugar coat it like they do deal with him being real or simply don’t watch and shut up🙄

Hi, im curious - I have watched one or two of your other videos - and witnessed you feeding live rabbits to your snakes -yet here you speak about "euthanising" the rabbits ( I presume prior to feeding to your snakes). I noticed two of the rabbits you "fed live" to your snakes had obvious wounds and I was disappointed with the manner in which you handled them - "threw them without care for them" into the snake pen. Whilst I understand snakes need to eat an appropriate food - eg rabbit, "pinkies", hamsters, guinea pigs etc there is absolutely NO requirement for that food source to be "live". I worry about your "care" of the rabbits you breed for the sole purpose of a food source for your snakes - yes, I can see you love your snakes - you have given them each a name - shame you dont give the same respect to the rabbits you choose to breed as their food source! Thank you for listening.

The wounds on the rabbits were due to someone's dog that was allowed to run unleashed that stressed and agitated the rabbits to the point they injured themselves. Feeding large constrictors is probably the most dangerous part about keeping them, that's why oftentimes they prey is tossed into the cage. I understand to the non handler/keeper it may seem harsh though. Had i actually thrown the rabbit it would have died on impact, for heavens sake the rabbit could jump further than It was "thrown".
When feeding I'm concerned for my well being, not the prey. Sometimes their feeding responses are unpredictable and they will mistake the keeper for prey when in feeding mode. I prefer to not end up seriously injured or dead.
Okay so I don't feed live, the rabbit has to be killed first. So I break its neck, whack it's head or gas/suffocate with CO2. There has been times those methods aren't as efficient than when the snakes do it. Nice thing about live is if the snake doesn't eat it isn't wasted like it is if I feed pk or ft. Interestingly the basis of this particular video was to show improvements in more suitable living conditions for the animals being raised as feeders.
What's your preferred methods to feeding your large constrictors? It would be interesting to know.
