I've upgraded from the 5th Gen, and went with the Space Grey - not a fan of pastels. Well done, US Apple fans. Your iPhones might not have SIM trays any more, but at least you got a charging brick with your new iPad Minis. Unbelievable. Thanks for the content.
I have a 128 gig mini 4. People spent 499.00 for a mini 6 with 64 gig. There was a 150.00 difference between that and 256 gig. On the new I pad there is a 100.00 difference. I am going to buy the 256 gig as I plan to have this iPad a long time. My 128 gig mini 4 lasted 9 years. With AI, you don't know how much memory the other apps are going to eat up so you are covered in that regard. Oh and for the people who don't think this tablet is a seller, Amazon in the UK have sold out!
6:02, despite having literally the same ISP as the iPhone 15 Pro/Max since they both have an A17 Pro chip, it's best to remember that the actual camera sensor on the iPad mini 7 is the same as its predecessor, which is quite equivalent to the main sensor of an iPhone Xʀ back in 2018.
also, i would argue that this iPad mini update is well appreciated since it bumps the base model storage from 64GB to 128GB. 64GB is paltry in 2021 and in 2024, it's daylight robbery. also, the rhetorical question about why Apple even bothered to update the iPad mini begs the answer that yes, it is indeed the "Apple Intelligence update". the A17 Pro also brought double the RAM and CPU + GPU improvements especially with Apple's previous statements that the iPad mini is a great device for gaming due to its compact size. these updates are more than welcome no matter how minor they are, and shouldn't be overlooked despite being a disappointing update overall.
Nice video. Such a shame that external display support and stage manager is unavailable even though the new chip has 8GB RAM, which I understood was the minimum requirement when this was rolled out to M series iPads? Heck, stage manager was even allowed on A12X and A12Z iPads! Hopefully Apple will address this in a future software update. I’ve already submitted a request.
You’re seeing the same as me on the jelly scroll, but I’m curious to know whether you’re also seeing a lack of smoothness on the 7 when scrolling? On the one I tested, it looked a bit like it was running a lower refresh rate than the 6th gen. Three of us looked at it and all saw the same thing. 🤔
Only have an iPad Pro 12, but it’s too big to carry around. I guess the mini 7 is ok for me. I wouldn’t upgrade any apple product just by 1 generation. One thing I hate, the bezel are horrible…..
Huawei making tri-fold phones and apple over here with 60hz iPads in 2024 with last years chip and 70 inch bezels. This is the world’s biggest company. What a joke of an update.
60 hertz with jelly scroll screen , what an update lol 😂. Even more preposterous is that Apple intelligence is just a link software to Chat GPT. That 8 Gb ram will burn the battery and make it less efficient.
@@JerrySchulze My mini3 is still alive and kicking. The "latest" iOS 12 making it sluggish. It's still functional in a sense. What a shame. At its price point, I'd go with 11" Air instead for better hardware support over the next 7 years from Apple. And holiday sales is happening right now here and there. The new mini's features is not quite justified its price
Hard swallowing pill: TouchID is better and easier than FaceID and new iPhone should add it. Also, that screen looks like 60Hz, that’s really a huge drown back
finally some good review that includes usb and networks tests
Thanks but not a review.

the only good reason to upgrade from the previous version is for gaming. doubt many would get the upgrade for the Pencil Pro support

iPad mini 6s

Same same but different.
Should have been this year's tagline
Hmmmm….yup…different. Apple excludes their formerly ubiquitous Apple stickers…in this version. You see, Apple is trying to “save the world”…

Think different but, stay the same.
60 hz display still? Best to just use your iPhone 15 pro max or a 15 max is probably just as good
Apple's strategy to move to e sim has forced me to android. I'm sure Apple has its reasons but at the expense of losing at least one fanboy
Ya, it kinda sucks but so far, I have not had a single issue switching between multiple devices a year.
its just not enough of a upgrade from the 6 + new pencil + apple care. just too much money to justify an upgrade

the new iPad mini is not a very good buy for its state of hardware. sad.
Well, I should have been more accepting of anyone coming from like a mini 3 or 4, or anyone who doesn't have a mini but likes the size.

It sure is 60hz. I like face much better.
what a disappointment....
