3 Minutes into this video and 8 others later, pointers finally clicked in my mind. My professor always says pointers are a reference of a variable, but never why or how they are used. It's very clear now that a pointer refers to the address, meaning the same one can be updated in multiple places. I'm a third into the semester and this just saved me.
