Sad I have to go on RUclips to try and find help because the vet seem to be ignoring this issue that is keeping me wake all night.
When my dog coughs i press gently on each side of her trachea slowly and she is able to stop surprisingly. Thanks for more tips though I will be trying these!
Our dog had a cough and it turned out to be advanced cancer in his thyroid gland closing off his throat. He was a Chow Chow. His mane was so thick we didn't see it. He was groomed regularly but I didn't discover the lump until too late. Any cough have checked with the vet!
I had a Siberia husky chow mix and he ran off one day. Finally found him 2 weeks later at the pound. He had A terrible cough. Vet said it was kennel cough. Long story short it wasn't kennel cough. Vet showed me x-rays and he had cancer quite bad up and down his esophagus. Vet said he also found a bunch of lead in him...someone shot him with pellets and more than likely the cause of the cancer. I did research on where he was seen and etc...u was mad. Found who shot him with lead. So had to put my sweet boy down. I talked to others and I switched him to an all raw beef diet and other stuff and that extended his life almost by 6 months! Your dog coughs alot please get him checked out!
@@soal3415 I'm sorry you lost your boy and he was hurt and suffered so horribly...Chow Chow breads get a bad rap like pit bulls. My husband's family wanted him to take ours out to a friend's farm so they could shoot him! He was less than a year old....just because he was a Chow. Such a loyal dog. They didn't shut up until I told them if he took that dog out there for their sick sport, that I would be sit down on the ground next to him...they never stepped foot in our yard again and that dog knew I hated them for what they tried to do to us. He lived 11 years. When we had to put him down he let us know he couldn't do it any longer, but tried very hard to hang on. The day we put him down my husband cried like a child...stayed in bed 3 days and couldn't go to work. I had l lost pets before, but this was his first..... A few days later we saw a puppy that looked like him and my husband crumbled on the ground sobbing....Chippy had fulfilled his purpose...he humbled a man that came from a family that considers animals filthy, and undeserving, with no intelligence or feeling for mankind. Ever since we had Chippy, he put his hunting guns up and has gone out of his way to rescue stray dogs lost found running on highways. We will never have another Chippy...my husband says...."He was IT!" But we have 2 rescue pit mixes, and a bossy English Cocker that has him tied around her tail....he cooks for them...takes them for rides around the lake in his Jeep when the ground is too muddy and always makes sure they are rewarded when he comes home. I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner. Just saw your post....One day I hope people are physically put in jail, fined heavily, and assigned to work with abused and abandoned animals as a community service for a minimum of 12 months. It could change them.

Our vet said to try Pepcid ac but it is not working so thanks for the video! our pug’s “gagging” cough is unbearable to listen to and we feel so bad for her
My 3yo yorkie has tracheal collapse or tracheal Malaysia as we say in the human.. he gets out of breath after running and makes a wheezing like noise w exhale. He also does the reverse sneeze thing more than he should. Starting on honey. There are also some human inhaled steroids that might be beneficial for animals depending on weight and dose. Thanks for your help. Not looking forward to him growing older as this is supposed to be to worsen w age but maybe the meds you suggested will help.
Hello I love your video and use natural info for my own dogs. I have a Chihuahua with collapsing trachea and his cough is pretty bad and he licks his paws to get rid of the mucus in his throat I would like to know what the product was that you spray in the mouth that from the bee hive.
Thank you so much, Dr. Jones! I found your advice here for turmeric as well as honey and licorice (I mix them) which I give to my 16 year old Jack Russell who developed this cough along with esophagal pockets. All in the past 3 years. Blended foods and your remedies keep her comfy, active and happy!
Desperately need your advice. Took our 17 pound dachshund to vet after his bark was almost completely gone about a month ago. (He is ten years old). They prescribed amoxicciillan for 10 days, he is on day 9. Her suspicions were collapsed trachea. His bark has greatly improved, but he has a somewhat gagging sound several times after drinking water, but never after food. The after water gagging cough was never a problem until he lost his bark. If it is collapsed trachea, why does it only bother him when he consumes water and not food which is thicker than water? We just can't figure it out, we are baffled...
I would like to know that too. My ruby collapsed on the floor. Meds not making it better. U dud some honey n lemon, however it doesn't last long before she coughs again. She is a min pin mixed n she is 15. It will be a sad day for me when she dies. 🐕
I loved your video! But... the products you are suggesting... need a list or show bottles better! I especially wanted to get the spray but can’t catch brand/name! Help!
Great advice Dr. Jones I love all your suggestions however if I try to give my dog any of those she would bite me in a heartbeat! She’s a 16-year-old Chihuahua. Can I add the CBD oil to her food?
Thank you your information has been so helpful I would like to try some of your products for my Shih Tzu she has that cough daily she has been to the vet and she is healthy she is 10 years old I’m going to try the honey .

I know you posted awhile ago, but hopefully you’ll respond to this. My dog is diabetic, but has recently been going through bouts of coughing and hacking, similar to that of dogs with tracheal collapse. May I give her honey without it harming her or affecting her diabetes?
Hello dr , do you think the replacement of tracheal stent is the best way to help tracheal collapse?if not , can you tell me why?(sorry for my poor English)
Interesting...can you expand upon a grain free diet causing a dog to cough? My Silky goes into coughing fits, usually always due to excitement, but also in the middle of the night. I have not fed her grains for the 5 years I have had her since adopting her at 10 years old. She is 15 1/2 years now but looks and acts incredibly healthy but just has the violent coughing/sneezing/gagging fits. She did have dental issues however, before I adopted her from a neighbor who passed away and then last year her teeth more teeth had to be removed. I thought maybe the two could be connected...dental issues causing infection in trachea. Also she rubs her ears and I check them and can not find mites. She was on an antibiotic when she had a dental a year ago. She was diagnosed with trachea collapse but her trachea collapse happened following severe relentless coughing for 3 weeks in Feb 2020 when covid started.. I read dogs can get covid. I thought that might be her case. I stayed up with her for 3 weeks giving her steam, patting on the back, aromatherapy and she made it through but has since had the trachea issue. I thought perhaps her trachea was damaged from the severe coughing for 3 weeks. It doesn't sound like there is a cure and at this point I am considering putting her down, I hate to say it, because of her age and there being no cure that has been mentioned by vets or anyone else. I have a theory the trachea never has a chance to heal because it is aggravated by intermittent coughing. She doesn't cough all the time now, just a couple times during the night and anytime she gets excited and usually in the morning when she gets up. It is so loud I am amazed such a loud sound can come from such a small dog...12 pounds. I am concerned that she suffers from it. She has gotten worse this winter. I do think I notice she gets better at times depending on diet but I haven't identified what diet works for her. I do feed her raw at times. Any dietary insights you can give me I would appreciate because your post caught my eye when you said grain free diets can be the cause and I have fed her grain free for the entire 5 years I have had her. Thank you so much!
best thing to avoid all this is to train your dog to heel, its not difficult but takes time which so many dog owners just can't be bothered to do, leading to their dogs being a nuisance to trained dogs. Thanks Dr Jones : )
'' # 1Natural Pet Health Network on RUclips!'' - and probably the only one lol The other vets practice real medicine and I think I'll stick to their advice.
@Veterinary Secrets Is your supplement safe for a DIABETIC Yorkshire Terrier? He's 8 years old and 10 pounds. I wish you would do a video on Diabetic dogs regarding natural food recipes or treats.
He's not a real vet anymore. He was forced to resign from the British Columbia College of Veterinary Sciences back in 2010 because he had been fined over $40,000 for his "alternative" and somewhat fake approach to veterinary medicine. I'd really look into who is selling you what.
@@mfrances8253 LMAO! You think using alternative medicine is fake? You need to educate yourself. I am very aware of why he is no longer a vet and I APPLAUD him for it!
mf lanese Dr Jones is a MUCH BETTER VET than those who care more about money than animals. Just as it is with human doctors, with a vast amount of veterinary surgeons Big Pharma is the controlling factor in most ways. The perks that some get for the treatment are very lucrative. Big Pharma doesn’t want them to use more beneficial ways to cure your pet or livestock. Big Pharma makes false claims about products, they falsely or fudge research results. That’s if they actually test the efficacy of a new drug. Chemical side effects that cause anything up to the death of animals, including humans, aren’t mentioned or a fancy name that doesn’t get looked up, e.g Mercury, used in vaccines is the deadliest metal in the periodic table but thimerosal, a compound of mercury is the name on the list of ingredients. That’s if your doctor or nurse actually bothers/has time to read it before administering it. They use it as a preservative. It can pass the blood brain barrier and cause all sorts of problems. The liver and kidneys alongside every cell of your body is under attack. I can’t imagine how any medical practitioner doesn’t know this. It’s basic chemistry. So, there must be another reason that this and other dangerous chemicals are taken, applied to our body’s largest organ, the skin, and injected straight into the bloodstream mustn’t there? Yes, as not only will they be losing revenue by using natural, safe age old remedies BUT, they can and do, LOSE THEIR LICENSE or in the case of doctors that go against one of the most powerful controllers in the world by treating with miracle cures against cancer, LOSE THEIR LIFE!!! Have you not heard of the #DeadDoctors news? Why the extreme punishments? Because, for one, the natural remedies work and the others made by pharmaceutical companies don’t. Ergo, their empires would collapse. Anything that is natural cannot get an exclusive patent to be used only by the the manufacturer. In other words they can’t make it exclusive to them only and make a fortune for it. Natural remedies, unless the plant or or element is very rare, are far less lucrative than manufactured drugs. Ever heard of the saying, “Follow the money”? Not only has Dr Jones a real love of healing animals but he really cares enough to make a profound decision to go against Big Pharma that has taken away his professional qualifications and lost his livelihood he studied years for, (animal doctors training is two or three years longer) his continued treatment and alternative natural remedies could threaten his life if he made and pushed cures! So, anyone who thinks that there is something shady about Dr Jones or that he’s only in it to get rich, think again... This sorry, evil state of affairs is coming to an end. Big Pharma has an adversary that they haven’t had since inception... 😘
Hello Alex, I have a little King Charles X Yorky, Louis. He’s ten in October. Since starting him on Dr Jones supplement he’s so much more boisterous, mischievous and hungry and happier. His clicky back knees aren’t nearly so bad. I had to keep clicking them back in but hardly ever do now. He even jumps up on my bed again! He had trouble doing that for years. I use and know almost all the ingredients in Dr Jones supplement. It can only do good things for your baby especially as he’s diabetic. Much love from England ❤️
Thank you, thank you so much for this video. I needed this. My dog always coughs and the vets can't figure out what's wrong. They think it's the tracheal collapse but won't say for sure. One question - do I have to be concerned about the sugar content in the honey if my dog gets this twice a day?
@@sureyyaekinci4630 not so good he didn’t it want it, so I put some diluted honey in his water - he drank some but last night he was quite bad. I took him to the vet for a check up. He didn’t seem to have anything to report. He prescribed antibiotics and cortisone… I decided to take my canine boy home and changed his dinner from the usual chicken carcass to minced meat - he is sound asleep- no alarming coughs as yet- fingers crossed we all get a good night sleep.
so if they don’t cough when you gently touch their trachea, it’s not trachael collapse? what’s the main difference to look for between tracheal collapse and reverse sneezing?
I can't give honey to my dog who had diabetes. She's coughing up phlegm and my fiance doesn't see it an emergency. So going to get one of these for her
You guys: just make sure you don’t give propolis to your dog that has alcohol in it. A lot of the propolis I get from Brazil has it (mine at home has “álcool de cereais”, wheat alcohol I think...many times they use corn alcohol as well), which is normal since it’s very concentrated propolis and allows the propolis turn liquid for consumption (propolis is basically the waxy substance bees make to keep the honeycomb together - it’s nature’s superpowers anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, etc, we use it when we get a cold and sore throat, mix 20-25 drops on a tablespoon with honey (for human adults), it’s super bitter but super potent, nature’s super remedy. Basically, don’t give that type of Propolis with alcohol to your dog bc alcohol is TOXIC to dogs. The spray one Dr Jones used in this video almost looks like one I got from Amazon that’s not bitter, feels quite tame compared to the normally strong Brazilian propolis liquid drops. If it’s the same one it’s called Beekeeper’s Natural, propolis throat spray. It doesn’t have propolis but has vegetable glycerin, which I think is what gives it the sweet taste. Although, it’s a type of sugar, which I’m not sure but it may possibly not be good for dogs, specially if giving it on a regular basis, since sugar, like salt, is bad for dogs. Certainly don’t give anything with sugar if you have a dog with cancer since cancer feeds on sugar. Hopefully Dr Jones or someone else can read this and clarify for sure. Thanks for reading and have a good day/night ☀️ 🌙 👋

Good point Marie, especially when chronic
@@maried3717 That is sad but good. I'm so glad your husband learned the value of a life. I wouldn't get along with ur in laws at all..they sound like my parents. My pets are my responsibility an am a big dog lover..they love back big too! So I think as a child all of them should experience having pets. Some kids never do an grow up disliking animals. Sorry you have experienced what you have but I realize that those things are what makes us who we are. Happy to be passionate to animals!
Not looking forward to him growing older as this is supposed to be to worsen w age but maybe the meds you suggested will help.
is it safe to use all of them at once?
Great video. Thank you 💖🕊🌻
Hello I love your video and use natural info for my own dogs. I have a Chihuahua with collapsing trachea and his cough is pretty bad and he licks his paws to get rid of the mucus in his throat I would like to know what the product was that you spray in the mouth that from the bee hive.
Is there anything we can give our figs to strengthen the trachea to slow or cease progression of the disease? I was told that collagen will help.
Homeopathic Hepar Sulfaris also seems to support Bonnie with her problem.
Glad to hear that. Thanks for sharing, Barbara! You're welcome!
What type of blended foods?
Help!
Wonderful
Thank you doctor...
You're most welcome!
You have the nicest dogs Doc!
So do you use ALL concomitantly?
Does it have to be organic honey? Any specific type of honey?
Great advice Dr. Jones I love all your suggestions however if I try to give my dog any of those she would bite me in a heartbeat! She’s a 16-year-old Chihuahua. Can I add the CBD oil to her food?
Thank you

@@gloriaguardado8131 not natural remedy but I thought it works for me and it can't do any harm so I tried it what a difference it made it so my dog could get some sleep and not cough half the day honey helped him a lot also he has a tablet each day and honey what a difference it's made to him x
I know you posted awhile ago, but hopefully you’ll respond to this. My dog is diabetic, but has recently been going through bouts of coughing and hacking, similar to that of dogs with tracheal collapse. May I give her honey without it harming her or affecting her diabetes?
I am wondering the same thing. I am going to the vet tomorrow for this and I am gong you ask this question and I will respond to you ❤️
I noticed he wrote down below to give the honey an hour prior to giving the insulin
Best Ver evwr, your information is very valuable. Thanks for sharing.

My dog Shadow isn't small. He's 65 lbs and 9 1/2 years old ( Boarder collie/Shepard mix). He has the Tracheal Collapse.

Hello dr , do you think the replacement of tracheal stent is the best way to help tracheal collapse?if not , can you tell me why?(sorry for my poor English)
I wish I could study with you! Brilliant work
Thank you for doing these videos 🙂
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching
Great informative video.
They can cough because they've been fed grain free diets, have an enlarged heart, and have symptoms of Dilated Cardiomyopathy as well.
Thank you my pup just got groomed and i took him to the vet to find that the noose caused damage.
Im so sorry to hear... I hope he/she is better ❤️
Great! Thank you for making this video.
You’re welcome’
Thank you so much for your Videos.I love this Vet ! He's so sweet with the pet's he treats. Have a bless day.lol
Thank you:)
best thing to avoid all this is to train your dog to heel, its not difficult but takes time which so many dog owners just can't be bothered to do, leading to their dogs being a nuisance to trained dogs. Thanks Dr Jones : )
Welcome
How about olive leaf complex as a natural anti-inflamatory?
ur videos are a blessing
Thanks for watching!
Can tracheal collapse be diagnosed without films or endoscopy in a dog who isn't constantly coughing?
Tula loves you.💯💯💯
'' # 1Natural Pet Health Network on RUclips!'' - and probably the only one lol The other vets practice real medicine and I think I'll stick to their advice.
What about a dog gagging every time it drinks water...
@@dianne8340 Well said!
mf lanese Dr Jones is a MUCH BETTER VET than those who care more about money than animals.
Ive heard using lavender in a defuser help as well but I'm not positive.
Thank you, thank you so much for this video. I needed this. My dog always coughs and the vets can't figure out what's wrong. They think it's the tracheal collapse but won't say for sure. One question - do I have to be concerned about the sugar content in the honey if my dog gets this twice a day?
Tray and give the smallest amount of honey that is effective
Thank you sooooo much for your information on my little Dog I have spend soooooo much money on my Dog, God Bless you and your family.
Your amazing x
Puppy is all set with all the natural remedies! I will try the honey on my dog. I have some local organic one that I swear by. Thank you.
How dıd you go wıth the honey
@@sureyyaekinci4630 not so good he didn’t it want it, so I put some diluted honey in his water - he drank some but last night he was quite bad. I took him to the vet for a check up. He didn’t seem to have anything to report. He prescribed antibiotics and cortisone… I decided to take my canine boy home and changed his dinner from the usual chicken carcass to minced meat - he is sound asleep- no alarming coughs as yet- fingers crossed we all get a good night sleep.
@@delphinebosquet9640 I will try the turmeric, my vet said it’s ok,
Thanks for the info! I’m considering downloading your book but curious if you sell or share our information? Thanks!
???
so if they don’t cough when you gently touch their trachea, it’s not trachael collapse?
what’s the main difference to look for between tracheal collapse and reverse sneezing?
Thank you for making your videos!
You're welcome! Hope they were helpful.
I love him so much
Can you use raw honey and does it need to be local?
That’s 3 tsp of honey for my mastiff. Big glucose shot? Spike ? How about ghee with honey? Slow the sugar absorption?
Thank you Doc 😊👍

I have a spaniel female, sterilized, clear heart and lungs, on ashma pump morning and night, no improvement. Coughs up small amounts of flem. If she gets excitedly she coughs. Is over weight, eats and drinks water no problem? Should I try the honey, lemon in warm daily and see how that's goes or add something herbal? Please comments would be very much appreciated. I have 3 spaniels. Mom and dad from separate breeds and one of their males, all mutated. Regards to all and that you for sharing different options. She has cost a fortune but so be it she is part of my grandchildren as well as the other two.
Wish i had known about you 10 years ago, when my little guy was still with me. He had the cough, when they x-rayed they found a very enlarged heart. 3 years on remidal and other meds. Had a rough last 6 months, till i let him go.
My 14 year old Westie has enlarged heart and a collapsed trachea. She is on lasix and benaziprine. She’s been taking this for a year and a half. I dread thee day I lose her.
Hello I would love to read your book … My sweet girl has an enlarged heart…. Not crazy enlarged but enlarged ! She also has the collapsed trachea ! Early next week getting an Echo.. As she has infected gums needing her teeth cleaned again… She said so many teeth pulled over the years she’s 12 years old but she’s my sweet girl… But we are going to get that echo… Just to see because I’m scared to even get her teeth cleaned because of it I have a wonderful veterinarian… But I am just beside myself… Is there any Thang tricks you can tell me about?
Hi how do I get in touch with you please?
I just spent $250 on chest x-rays because my vet thought my dog’s cough could be a collapsed trachea. When she applied pressure there, it induced a cough apparently. X-ray showed no such diagnosis. So we are treating him for kennel cough.
Do you recommend x-rays for a dog’s cough?
Does barking strengthen the trachea?
Where can I get that spray?
