5:36 Thank you for asking all those questions about his work! I also had no idea what he was talking about
haha it's fortunate that I'm a curious dummy instead of an expert so I ask all these questions
M Malone is a legend in the NYC streetwear scene. I'm happy to see he is doing well.
I managed to snag a pair of those persimmon dyed pbjs in their second run a few years ago. Def one of my fave pairs. Williamsburg does all my hemming. Quality is a+ but their customer service reply time needs a bit of work. All good tho. Satisfied repeat customer.
I think the fit is perfect to be honest. You said there's still some room, but for such a rare denim like this I'd rather leave some extra room to prevent the eventual crotch blowout.
That's a great point that made me feel better! This just-a-little purple denim looks great with a grey jacket
I just had them chain-stitch hem and add red bar-tacking 2 pairs of my jeans a few weeks back, fantastic work. it does take a bit to ship them out and get them back but nothing too crazy and Id rather have it done right than done quickly.
Yeah I love that his customers feel that way about their jeans. "Only the best for my daily drivers"
wow, he tailored those to perfection. Never even fathomed you can take a pair of jeans multiples sizes too large and have hem fixed up like that.
He was worried that too much waist bringing in would bring the rear pockets too close together, but it turned out good!
I just got my pair of bravestar jeans back from Williamsburg garment company after they did some tapering and alterations, they are literally THE best fitting jeans I’ve ever worn.
If your investing north of $400/$500 in denim, makes to find a expert that can alter these materials. Their prices didn’t seem that crazy off their website. Also lots of pants on and off action in this videos 😂 lol
well that's what it's all about
Very cool vid, Nick.
Thanks! Didn't think anyone would appreciate the magic lol
I Remember buying my pair of Mo Jeans first guy in high school to have em😎..anyway love your vids u helped me a lot discovering selvedge denim …gotta be honest Mo is crazy if he thinks hot water dont shrink the hell outta jeans lol
Probably matched the original color of the stitching. Very interesting discussion.
So glad you found this interesting William
Not jealous at all...that's awesome
12 different machines is a bit of a stretch for what is required to sew a pair of jeans. Just about everything besides bartacks and button holes can be done with a single needle straight stitch machine.
Love this stuff Nick... I see you had your Filson canvas bag going in...! Personally I think those jeans fit well, maybe a little loose in waist but other than that they look pretty darn good, plus you'll be wearing a belt to cinch up the waist a bit....Once Maurice (a Detroiter it looks like) got through dialing in the waist you were good to go.....Greg...P.S.... Haven't worn any boots other than my Aldens since I got them.... Most comfortable boots out of the box EVER...! Love these bad boys.... You had a lot to do with this....GG
That was my medium duffle, I think! I had like 10 other pairs of pants I wanted hemmed while I was there hehe. Delighted I helped you find boots you love, Greg!
Thanks Nick....!@@Stridewise

Great video, just the info I was looking for. How do we find a denim specialist? Did a quick search a nothing seems to pop, thanks
I think search "denim alterations" or "denim tailor" you should find some guys, though their Google game might not be that strong so searching with a city afterward could help. Most take their stuff by mail!
It sounded like he was implying that the drier doesn’t shrink more than simply line drying? That’s wild if that’s true. So it’s going to shrink regardless in the drier or hang dry?!
I'll be honest with you: dont listen to that hot water talk
That guy did a great job. I sew denim as well and that guy is a professional. So good I wish that gentleman would teach me some things.
It's fascinating how many levels there are to fine tailoring, and how you can specialize in denim, wool, etc!
Cheap denim, and dim lighting. That’s how you move merchandise. - Reminds me of Momomotaro jeans. That's some good upcycle Hype I say.😎
what a conspiratorial mind you have

I would think you could rather easily find a jean specialist in fashion cities like New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, & Miami to name a few. For the rest of us, how do you go about finding a jean specialist? There's no such thing as the yellow pages any longer and googling just sucks. I live just outside of Atlanta. So if anyone can recommend a jean tailor in or around the A-T-L, I appreciate that too. :-)
most of Williamsburg Garment's jeans are mailed in, i guess consider mailing them in?
curious if you pre washed them before tailoring? they came out perfect.
I did, yes! Glad you liked the fit. I got them hemmed just a bit too short and am worried they'll get too short with wear haha but I'm a pro at jean neurosis
That's Greenpoint not Williamsburg.
yeah he moved offices but by then he had the Williamsburg branding!
The other option would have been to gain a bunch of weight.
Probably more cost effective to get the alteration
@@Stridewisehahaha true. They look great though. I would love to get my hands on a pair, but 💰💰💰
