Converse always work when they're 1 size big because they naturally make the feet longer! I found a really awesome vintage pair at the thrift store a few years ago one size to big and I can't even tell!

A little late to commenting but I don't think you should get the dress taken in! it still looks so good and will put more attention to the beauty of the dress on you as opposed to seeing the sneakers as much. Also, I think the best white sneakers for this dress and any other dresses you wanna wear with some sneakers in Italy would be the Reebok Club C 85! Many people have said they're comfy and they're not too bulky! xx
