Man, I just found your channel but I feel like we are brothers from another mother. I'm entering my 7th year as an agent and you hit the nail on the head with your description of it's pros and cons. Last December it was really a tough decision whether or not I was going to pay my dues and keep trying. Ultimately I went for it, but showing houses to people that have no idea what they want or aren't in tune with today's prices is just making it hard to keep following up with all the leads. The entitled/rude clients will burn anyone out fast.

Hey man, thanks for watching and subscribing! If you've lasted 7 years in the business, then you must be doing a good job at it. But I hear you on the tough clients in this market. I just fired a new client who wants to get a home for 25% under current market prices, even though there hasn't been a drop like that in my market at this point. I hope you sell a lot of homes this year!

@@startuptrevor I'm glad you were able to dodge that bullet! I had an old neighbor tell me she wanted me to list her home, but she didn't want people to come inside her house until they were under contract, wanted me to use the photos from the previous listing 2 years prior, and would you mind giving me a discount on the commission? "I don't think you are doing much to earn a whole 3%". Finally I just recommended she find another agent. She's cycled through 2 other agents already that I've seen and she's still asking about $40k over market value. You can't please them all!

@@startuptrevor I hope you get a lot of sales as well! You put into words something that I've been feeling for a long time when you talked about wanting to work on a business and how there's no prospect of selling your real estate job. It's interesting how it being an agent is conducive to the lifestyle but didn't provide the long-term effects of equity that come with being a business owner.

great video man. Question for you... since you're going to be passive with RE transactions do you market this stuff on say a page delegated to you real estate work? Im thinking of not marketing myself anymore, delete my social media pages and only work on the leads i paid for. Now obviously its for a better cause, as I do have another company and working on personal branding tied in with that stuff. What are your thoughts on that?

Hey man, thanks for watching! I was never big into marketing my real estate services on social media so I'm not planning on doing any of that now. I'm still part of a few services that send me the occasional referral for a referral fee upon closing so I'm planning on only pursuing those deals as well as any deals I might get from my network or past clients. If you already have the social media pages established, you could potentially keep them but just not post to them anymore. It's not likely they will bring you any leads if you aren't active on there, but it's possible. Congrats on your company! What kind of business do you have?
