Today I play "A Distant Memory" which is a story game about a worker losing his sanity...
I’m really into the phycological horror games that focus on mental health and things like that, just something about them makes it more scary

Tbh, despite how fucked up it is, I'm sorta hoping that someone makes a game based off of Albert Fish, naming the game "The Boogieman" (which was one of the many nicknames given to Albert Fish at the time, mothers would tell their children "beware of the boogieman")
And then, I hope Albert (our Albert) plays said game. The shit Fish did was disgusting, and considering how creepy the song Secrets of Wysteria is, a game based on that monster would also be really scary.
It'll specifically be surrounding the Grace Budd situation, where Fish kidnapped, strangled, and ate 10-year-old Grace Budd. Might leave out some details, such as the letter, and if it includes the letter, removing the "I did not fuck her though. I wish I had. I should've. She died a virgin" part. And maybe the part where Fish was describing how delicious she was.
Okay, so, maybe a Roblox game based on Albert Fish ISN'T such a good idea...

Seeing Albert being so scared made me even more terrified because usually he jokes around and makes fun of us fans but it made me really scared. Since he was being legit then.

The password being "FOX" symbolizes a warning not to trust everyone because there's false friends/acquaintances around you. It's also a symbol for loneliness/being alone. On the deception note, one of the passwords and repetitive phrase is "Dean lied". Dean is likely the character you play lying to himself, living a lie, "believing false things" which is why every event in this game is his mind playing tricks on itself and anxieties making him believe things will happen, driving him to the point of insanity, and to the point of death. He likely moved to a new place to get a fresh start to begin to clean up his life, telling himself everything will get better, once again, lying to himself. Every time the message "I told you not to go out" is the only sane part of him trying to tell himself to take a break from all the work and actually take a moment to take care of himself. He was likely the one who put up the cameras to document what happens during mental breakdowns and freak-outs for his own memory or to show a doctor that may have advised he do it to help himself. This game is really deep when looked further into. The message at the end is truly important, please take care of yourselves out there.

Never could I have ever thought a Roblox game could scare me so badly, even without jump-scares. I wouldn’t say I get scared easily, so this is a excellent horror game, especially if you want a sleepless night.Dean probably went through a traumatic event, the event the man on the radio might have been talking about. Dean lives in a sort of old or haunted apartment , which explains why there’s a bunch of spooks.Going back to the game, the lady being murdered on the radio or in the office creeped me out.

i have a theory! so, remember the repeated paintings of the palm tree near the end of the game? i have a feeling that the repetition could possibly represent extreme anxiety. it is common for people with anxiety to do the same thing over again, like watching the same episode of a tv show, or listening to the same song. the reasoning behind this is that there is comfort in the same thing, because it is familiar to you. this may be why the paintings are repeated, because Dean must enjoy the painting.

Theory: every time Albert dies/ respawns, the reason why it’s different every time, is because your POV is each family member, going into the apartment where the previous family member died. Example, second time he died, his POV was in the brothers point of view. Third time, it was the sisters, Etc.

The game was very deep.. Disturbing and sad.. My heart was pounding so hard while watching the video. And while scrolling on the comments, I saw some theories related to the game that made me even more emotional about the game. I don't know if the story of the game indeed happened in real life or was just made up, but, it holds a great meaning..

What an insane game, probably one of the most realistic and hard hitting games I've ever seen. Typically horror games are beyond possible, but the fact that its phycological makes it all the more real.
This game is crazy!
I gathered up some information from my understanding and other comments:
Dean is the character you play, who probably has bad mental health from a traumatic event in his life, which is why he moved for a “fresh start”. I believe his wife was murdered, guessing the beginning where we hear a woman being killed and the fact he has a picture of himself and another person, but we see him living alone. Dean most likely copes with work, keeping himself distracted from the memories, but the work only makes it worse for him. From another comment, the “Lied” part is most likely him lying to himself, saying everything will be alright, and the “I told you not to leave” must be him trying to take a break from work. But ultimately, he ends up committing suicide.
Very sad game, anyone going through tough times please take the ending message to heart. Love yourself and seek help if you are going through mental issues ❤

If that radio recording in the beginning is true, it may be about the Todt family murders. It occurred in December 2019, I heard the word December in the recording.
A man named Anthony Todt murdered his entire family, including the dog. He was a physical therapist.
Idk if this relates to the game at all, but it’s good to make connections.
Just as a little bit of trivia that I think would be interesting:
The radio audio of the murder case and the woman supposedly being murdered is from the canceled horror game P.T by (my homeboy) Hideo Kojima. In that game, you take control of a person who is stuck in a type of wormhole type loop, where every time you enter a new area of the house, it stays the same but with minor things changing or happening, for example; the radio message playing different messages.
Theory:
So basically the game is about depression and the “demon” is deans depression it’s not actually there but it’s a infestation in his mind he thinks it’s there the gunshot at the end is the “demon” killing him or him killing himself from depression therefore the ending saying you are worth something.

I'm not going to type a whole theory about this. But at the end during the credits, or whatever it was, it talked about mental health. Thinking back to the gun shot, he must have shot himself. Dean was going insane and he just couldn't take it anymore. The " demon " was just a voice inside of his head. None of the paranormal things actually happened, he was just imaging it.

Theory 1: Hes overworking himself to the point of not sleeping for days, maybe even weeks? and when you don’t sleep for a few days straight you start hearing things, seeing things. you start. to go. insane.
Theory 2: Hes dealing with severe depression and psychosis. everything he’s hearing and seeing is all due to his psychosis and that his psychosis is keeping him up at night, causing him to get even worse and maybe when he hears coughing it’s actually him taking pills to help cope or possibly he’s even taking drugs.
Theory 3: The eyes when he’s working are his co-workers checking in on him because they notice that something is wrong but his mind pictures that they are monsters.
Theory 4: The gunshot at the end is him actually killing himself due to how much stress he is under. this theory is also linking back to theory 2.

Sooo the character in the story Dean Lied was actually the killer from the radio, and thought that someone was out to get him so he kept going to work to escape from that thought because he would be safe. Everything experienced in the game was in his imagination because as I previously mentioned, he thought something was out to get him or he thought he would go hecc and get punished for his actions. He was having a panic attack when he was hiding from the “creature” and couldn’t take it anymore and

Theory: He could be experiencing a night terror at work. He could be working simply and then a nightmare unfolds before his very eyes, causing him to slowly lose his sanity. Night terrors are commonly caused by lack of sleep, which is stated in his notepad. Night terror victims often hallucinate, and try to occupy themselves with something else than focus on the horror in front of them, which is why he was constantly focused on *WORK.*

I had a theory that there was multiple chapters in a book and say there’s multiple books in an each chapter of each book they tell how each family member died from a serial killer
GL1TCH 15 and in this book or group of chapters it talks about how the husband or father died and how he couldn’t protect his family because he was always at work and he was targeted last so at the very end he moved out because of the trauma and got a new apartment hence the beginning/end of story

My theory ; Dean had moved away from the rest of his family after a big argument, and then once he left he realized his family he had left was murdered. His wife was stabbed like it said on the radio, but he couldn't help himself to say that it wasn't his fault. He was in misery, pain and depression. The gun shot noises were most likely to be him shooting himself but everytime he did he was just hallucinating, until the last gunshot he actually didn't hallucinate and actually shot himself. And when Dean moved him at the end, that was probably him when he first moved in. This game gives out an important message, that could be; "You can run away from the past or the future, so you have to stay between them both where it's safe."

Here’s my theory: I think that the person started freaking out in the office after the radio call about the dead family because he did it. Either the demons watching him made him do it or he did it just because. He has completely lost his mind and tries staying at work to seem sane and normal but he can’t do it. Every time he’s shot and respawns in a chapter, that’s the souls of the family who he killed getting revenge on him until he dies in the very end.

Theory: Dean has a very good family but then suddenly they get murdered. Dean gains some issues and becomes crazy. He has all these nightmares of all these monsters and Can't sleep. But he doesn't remember He killed his family! Then he remembered what he did. Those Nightmares were about him, then he finds out of all the people he killed so he wanted to stop it all. By suicide.

Theory: When you first join, and go into your apartment, the fridge has a note to get something, and it says -Mia at the bottom. "Mia" is also possibly his computer profile picture. The demon seems to have a big grudge over him, and makes his life miserable, just how he possibly made Mia. The radio about the Homicide seems like it was directed towards you character? Thus Dean (who you are playing as) may be a serial killer, and the demon or demons may be the people or person he killed. Maybe the one demon is Mia, but at the office there were many eyes, not sure how many, also the radio guy said so many people died 6? i believe. How many demon eyes were watching him? 6 i believe. Dean is mentally insane.

I am a person who has clinical depression and let me just say, this is how some people with depression can have it. It feels like the world has nothing else to offer except pain and worry, so it can end up with suicide. I have panic attacks like the start one a lot but it’s more like sleep paralysis. My heart thumps harshly. This comment is not for clout but to warn people to stay active and safe.
2:00 this perfectly represents my mental health at the moment, I always see things no matter what I do and it really takes a toll on me, forcing me to do things I don’t want to and making me believe what I didn’t want to, don’t wanna sound like that guy but I think I have it a bit worse than this game shows

My understanding of the story/game is that "Dean" the character of the game is so stressed from work to the point where he got obsessed to it. He isn't just obsessed to it, he's 'depressed' because he can't spend sometime with himself (like having fun). His depression was so deep to the point where the demon is able to control his mind like give him negative thoughts (perhaps make him suicidal). He had "nightmares" and it is a sign the demon had given him that he will be his. The demon will own him.
That's why in the end of the end there was a message given on the screen that seek help if you're mental health is terrible before its too late.

This is my theory
I think the girl in Dean's pfp is his wife or daughter. The sounds are of someone dying and it might be the girl. Dean has PTSD and is constantly hearing her die. He is traumatize and that explains why his boss sent him home. He wanted to stay at work to get away and once he gets home he dies. He might have died by the same person that killed the girl or he might have even taken his own life(he most likely offed himself). That's why the game has the final message it did.

Theory: so dean needs to support him self he keeps telling him self to work and that’s his only goal in life is to work chapter 1 is the first step of him going insane his boss is telling him to get out of work for weird that’s why you hear foot steps chapters 2-4 are all his dreams in those dreams he keeps going more and more insane In chapter five the end he was going insane and thought her heard “the monster” which he was imagining. once he thought the monster was gone he found a camera which was a gun and shot him self with the “camera” (the reason he thought it was a camera is because he was going insane) That’s why at the end it says mental health is important (it is) The ending after is when dean first moved in showing that before working he was fine

My theory about this game is... Whenever the radio is telling stories, the loudest story available to hear is the one about a family being shot. Well... Playing as Dean (most likely) Well every time you mess up (maybe, Idk) Your screen shakes for a few seconds before it flashes white and a gunshot is heard. Considering that the fact the phrase "DEAN LIED" is most likely based on how Dean is basically living a lie, a bad dream that won't end. He most likely is getting 'shot' because of what he heard on the radio. Or it could be that there is just some random murder, but how the game plays out it's unlikely.
Clear fact:
Dean lied that hes ok, his family was murdered and unable to cope with the trauma he threw himself at work to distract himself, due to the pressure from the trauma, constant work, not thinking hes good enough at the work and other responsibilities he develops severe deppresion and anxiety, starts having hallucinations, after suffering for so long he simply can't take it anymore and... Finds a way out.
Sidenote: foxes are known for being deceiving, so its another sign hes deceiving himself not accepting that he needs time off and he is not fine.
Edit: Nearly at the end dean is hiding from his responsibilities (and hallucinations) in his closet due to a mental breakdown, shows that by this point his mental health has compleately broken down

Theory: After getting out of a relationship , He gets kicked out of the house, but before that, his partner changes his computer user name to "Dean Lied". As our protagonist moves into a new apartment, he quickly gets anxiety, and is suffering from depression. Needing a job, he works at an office. He becomes overworked and grows to hate the boss, who tells him to keep working, which is why the post It notes are there. After a while He starts to see things, as he barely sleeps. (you can tell from the coffee on the table) He starts having horrible nightmares. He sees ghosts, but not just any ghosts. He sees the ghosts of he family he murdered, being represented by the glowing eyes. He starts to hear the news broadcast that made him and his partner break up. Eventually, he gets tired of these nightmares, and cannot handle how guilty he feels. So after his last nightmare, Dean stands in the middle of his apartment, and shoots himself with the gun he used to kill the family. But, because of Dean's wrong doing, he is out in purgatory. Stuck, living the same awful cycle in his life. What's the point of the game? You are Dean, trying to break the cycle. But he is becoming nothing but *a distant memory.*.
Edit: I have thought of something else that ties in with the same story, giving more evidence that Dean was a murderer. If you are wondering why it says "Why did you leave" I have an explanation. It's simple. Dean's partner is wondering why Dean I leaving so late in the morning, considering he doesn't have a job. This happens over and over again, until the dreaded night, where they found a family, dead in their own house, right after Dean returns. She then says, "This is the last time you will leave." As he gets kicked out. Also, you may be wondering why the ghosts are separated at 2:15 . Well, Dean has done this multiple times. The ghosts on the right might be Dean's victims. To be more specific, the victims who's bodies were never found. We can tell because when the screen flashes white, and a message appears, it asks why you leave, *MULTIPLE TIMES*
But that's not all. Why is Dean's "favorite animal" a fox? Well,
As a spirit animal, the fox reveals itself during times of great and unpredictable change. With its heightened sense of awareness, the fox compels you to turn up your own senses, gather the information you need, and act swiftly on your decision. The fox symbolizes mental responsiveness. This explains the 'go home?' message at the bottom right during the office hours. It's Dean deciding to stay at work, or go home. Also, The fox represents *great And unpredictable change, the change being Dean Moving into an apartment because he was just dumped. This game isn't just scary noises, scary messages, and a loud bang at the end, it's a greater story then most would think. Not to call names, but I wanted to make a theory backed by at least small amounts of evidence, and not just random guesses, which is why this comment is so big.
