Concerning the smoke: I still prefer directly smoking the first line in the village as I most often encounter ATGM and Grenade launchers. Those tear your units apart before you can get close enough. Smoking behind still is an Idea I consider, but theres mostly not that much firesupport behind the villages when I attack or when the village is too large.
Ahh. I never knew that missiles miss because the shooter's attack-move command caused it to ruin the shot. Is there a limit to how long a stationary ATGM will follow its target? It seems AA missiles will keep tracking the plane forever.
Thanks for the vids. Q: Can a ATGM unit regain the control of the missile if they stop after moving a bit? Like in the example you're showing, if the opponent lures the ATGM unit to move, is it possible to react or is it too late?
Yes, you can't shift-queue stop commands, so if you hold shift, give a move order or something else and press stop (while still holding shift), the unit will just stop.
so basically your saying if you use attack move, issue a stop command when your vehicle locks on? I think I've always kinda done this on accident with heli's because i'm watching ranges and predicting when they will aquire so they don't fly to far. So what your saying is if your using attack move and it moves out of its range it will cut wire and look for a new target but if its stopped it won't cut wire even though the initial target is out of range and will still track to it?
Amazing - the smoke tip is perfect when you think about it, but completely counter intuitive until you do. Great info, thanks !
You can use NAPALM instead of smoke, it also produces smoke so enemy can't shoot you and also you can burn anything on spot

Nope, once they started moving it is over. Even if it is just for a split second.
I wonder, would Attack Move followed by Stop command via Shift do the same trick as you showed? Probably not.

It will stop targeting once the target is out of range, even if no other target is in range. If you have it on attack move, that is.
Tnx, as a new player I really struggle attacking towns
sorry, just a clarification, do we have to let the firing sequence complete, let the missile away before stopping ?
You can stop as soon as you see the unit aiming.
thx! i love these vids.
Are you from Germany? That accent :D
