I actually missed most of The Cell Saga. I started watching when American Dragonball was new. Seeing the episodes was a matter of tuning in at the right time. My folks had this annoying habit of grabbing the TV Guide as soon as it arrived. I usually did not know where it was.

I love the relationship that Piccolo has as Gohan's Dad-Uncle-Brother-Friend. Although Dragon Ball isn't big on feelings, I'm thankful that this is one that they decided to focus on. I like how you put the scenes from before the battle, as if we're in Piccolo's head during his thought process. This scene always makes me emotional, but you managed to kick it up a notch. We all love a good hero story that’s what I feel like happened. They turned piccolo from a villain to a hero. It was still such an emotional and great scene to happen. And it caused gohan another power boost
People do like to shit on Piccolo for choosing to stand in front of Gohan instead of grabbing him and getting out of the way, but if you look at the width of the attack from the way the ground is razed, it's not that hard to realize there was no time for that. I mean, flying is a thing, but...ehh.
