- Given all the recent revelations coming out of hollywood these days, this video seems very telling. Here is Dave Chappelle talking about the toxic environment that actors and comedians face in hollywood that often leads to them breaking down. I don't know if he was trying to tell us something or maybe I am just reading too much into it! :)

I’m an English teacher. Recently, my year 9 class have been watching ‘Edward Scissorhands’. A core theme we explored in the film revolves around unique individuals who are often misunderstood and alienated from society. We looked at how this can be seen through the development of Edward’s character. I also showed them this clip because it was aptly related. If Tim Burton had created a visual narrative around Chappelle’s words, it would probably resemble something like ‘Edward Scissorhands’.

Dave is a once in a generation personality. The man just sees the world with the perspective of someone who has lived 10,000 lifetimes. I used to think that George Carlin was the best comedian/social commentator that ever lived. Dave blew that theory of mine out of the water. He transcends comedy, the same way the Tiger transcended golf and Ali transcended boxing.

Dave is truly one of the few celebrities who’s whole existence is political and anti racism…in the way Rosa Parks or MLK is…but he’s got the entertainment chops to make you cackle while trying to bring unity to this world. hes not talking about the police at all. hes talking about the people who work behind the scenes at hollywood. every celeb has more than an agent who looks after them. they have a whole group of people who dictate to them how things are done, where to go, what to do next, what to think, what to say. they control every single aspect of your life and make sure you don't step out of line. ever noticed how everytime a celeb walks the red carpet they are never alone. they have their assistant by their side but also about 3 or 4 other people standing back who watch them like a hawk. its enough to drive anyone crazy. these people are completely controlled. it drives them insane. it makes them paranoid. watch the reality tv shows that americans appear on after their career dries up. we had tara reid, gary busey and dirk benedict on the uk celebrity version of Big Brother. they were fun and entertaining etc but also had a paranoid side to them. all of them were talking about conspiracies, how they could hear people on the outside sending signals to them.... is that a conspiracy? that every single one of them is weird af??
