Sermon March 19, 2017

Father Christopher Hofer, Rector at The Church of St. Jude (Episcopal) in Wantagh NY asks, "What is the one object in your life that you could not live without?" There are many different answers for different people. In today's Gospel, we meet a woman of Samaria who was getting water in her jug. In the local climate, water was an integral part of survival. However, after speaking with Jesus, she leaves her jug behind as she returns to her village to share the living, abundant water of baptism that Jesus gave to us and continues to give throughout our lives.
