I have never felt so sad about the death of any other artist as I do about Olivia's death. I think for many of us, from all around the world, she became, even when we didn't suspect it, like the living image of some of the most beautiful chapters of our lives, one full of joy, innocence, happiness, and 'summer dreams'. Even when not following her long career so closely, her beautiful smile and sweet voice, her sunniness, was always there, accompanying us throughout all these years, bringing us so many sweet moments. It always amazed me that there could be an artist so beautiful, talented, and truly kind and generous... and there she was, all of that together. It's been three days now when they announced her death (Aug 8, 2022), and I couldn't have imagined that it would feel so painful. It's like she somehow, with her angelic presence, talent, efforts to help others, and her beautiful sunny smile, had still kept alive, palpitating, that precious chapter of our lives. Now she's 'suddenly' gone leaving a huge void in all of us who loved her. It hurts badly. The thought that she will not be 'there' anymore, that her beautiful blue eyes will not see another sunny morning, the trees, the birds, the flowers, the blue sky, things that we can still see and enjoy, is so overwhelmingly sad. Olivia Newton-John, our sweet angel, rest in peace. 😢

When I lost my grandmother it was the first time I ever had someone close to me that died. In my mind I also said the same thing, that one day we will see each other again. Meaning in the afterlife when I too grow old and pass away. When you love someone, whether it's family or a really close friend, it's so hard to see them go, but then you think there will come a day when you will see each other again.

They brought this movie back in late 90s. It was on screen, in theaters and circuit city is where I bought the film. Did not matter your age or your race, your specific genre of music, everyone i knew loved it. I watched it everyday! Sang the songs with people. Grammar school to h.s. it was so iconic. One of my all time favorites hands down. It is so nice to know they stayed friends. I think their love transcends to more than romance or siblings. I think their love is genuine as soul mates. Regardless if they had other partners I think even their partners new that what they had was pure and could never be forced away.

In her own way, she was kind of a warrior. She had to have felt pain from her cancer. But she managed to soldier on, never losing a smile and her kindness. Most people would be bitter and tearful. But not her. She managed to fight through that and never forgot who she was and she never succumbed to pain. She fought to maintain her happiness until the end.
RIP Olivia, you were stronger than most people.

Her song I Honestly Love You, a favorite song of hers and JT's, tells a lot about their secret love. That's because they loved each other but can't get married. Aside from the timing wasn't always right (it's in her book), they have different religious beliefs. So they just decided to end up as best friends, supportive in good and bad times, and marry people who remind them of each other.

This was so so sad to watch, but at the same time so beautiful. I will always remember for the first time when I was 8 which was Grease and falling IN LOVE with Sandy. I may have been to young to know the references but I always sang to the songs and danced to them. Now, I'm 17 and I have watched over 50+ times, one time including 3 days ago because I love how truly amazing it is. To know that beautiful and courageous living for so long with such a horrifically painful and disease, not to mention all the personal struggles she had through all of it shows just exactly how amazing she was. R.I.P. Olivia, we love you.
