Got myself some Z32 calipers today. Going to set aside some time this week to install them on my Z31. Love the videos man, very informative and lots of things to learn as well. What I gather from this video: I can bolt on the Z32 calipers with little to no issue if I continue to use the Z31 rotors?
Correct. As long as you offset the calipers so they are relatively centered around the rotor, there's no issues using z31 rotors, although the z31 rotor is smaller in diameter than the z32 so the pad will overhang the edge of the rotor. It's not really an issue, your pads will just look weird when they wear
Bro this is so helpful. I bought one for 600 and I didn’t now what I was missing on the back brakes I only had a small part of the calipers. This helped me find out what I was missing thank you I really appreciate your videos keep it up
That weight difference is a cool bonus on top of the braking power increase. I didn't know the Z32 calipers were aluminum. Guess I didn't pay that much attention in Pt 1 lol.
You can't do the rears and retain the hand brake with the stock rear control arms. I believe some people have adapted the z32 rear subframe in which case you can use the brakes with it. They will bolt on to a z31 and work fine, but you lose the hand brake.
I've got an 86 n a it is my baby it's came a long way since I've had it but I still got so far to go there's like three in Huntsville Alabama I've had four throughout my life I wish I had them all still I need to get in touch with some people that are doing work on these cars still I've noticed all the posts are multiple years old
yeah I do all my own work to my z well I do all my own work period for that case but I just need to find some people that have parts and ideas for these things at hand cuz they're sure hard to find around here my transmission went out a few months ago I bought one used installed it myself noticed it grinding and making noises before I even let it down on the ground so immediately pulled it back out went and got my money back and luckily found another one a week later but those are the only two I have seen in salvage yards in Alabama in years other than my 87 that wound up in the junkyard it got stolen and I didn't have the proper paperwork to get it back so I got to go see it but couldn't get it back then a friend of mine tells me he sees it at LKQ and takes pictures of it and sends me a few months later but that was the last I saw of that car
Only the fronts. The rear calipers from a Z32 don't have a hand brake mechanism because the z32 uses a dual caliper setup, one for the brakes and one for the hand brake. So you could swap it but you'd lose the hand brake
Awesome video but what are the dimensions of the washers?

Only the early years 90-93 I believe, 94+ are iron.
How do you do the rears ?

I always thought you needed late model turbo hubs to install these. Guess not. Good info.
If you want to install the z32 rotors with them as well then you do, but if you're using stock rotors then you can stay with the early z31

wait i thought i needed a new fuel line for z32 calipers. thats good to know i dont need them lol
Man are you planing on doing a coilovers video ??
I already have a 2 part video on the installation! Just click on my channel and go a few videos back.
Can you do the same thing with the rear calipers or does the swap only work for the front?
