The Fives sound great! Yes you can hear the sound quality come through even if it's on a person's own PC sound system. I'm sure it's not great on smartphone speakers but you can't please everybody. I would suggest you use those audio tracks so the sound can be compared across different speaker platforms. FYI I'm looking at making a recommendation for a friend's computer speakers. The Fives are high up there on the list. A pair of Klipsch RP-600M paired with a 100 watt mini-amp for a hundred bucks is also a consideration.
Just ordered a Matte Black set. Looking forward to how they compare to my LS50w on a desk. Klipsch has more of a "fun" sound to me. Miss the R-51pm / RP-600m at times. Hopefully these bridge the gap a bit.
I have the Yamaha NX-N500 which are truly active powered loudspeakers Class A/B tweeter and Class D Mid/Bass, which have been around since 2015. They go upto 384KHz USB. 192KHz Ethernet, 96KHz WiFi 2.4GHz. They have Bluetooth aswell as Line in an Digital Optical connection. Yamaha MusicCast streaming software which is Extreme powerful and intuitive for multi room listening and remote control via your mobile phone or via the included remote control. You can't beat the Yamaha's as they are based on the famous Sound studio recording speakers. These are tuned for home users with clear but dynamic and fun sounding. They support most all streaming services including all the Hi Res ones.
Youthman survived the Summit! A lot of people have been reviewing these, and I still love to see them. For Channa D they have an e-Arc connection! I just really like the retro look. I also connectivity choices. Nice rear panel layout. Not a bad price tag either. I have been thinking about add a pair of these for background music, TV watching. I ordered my Summit T-Shirt today! Have a great day Michael!
Nice unboxing and review Michael. Thanks for posting. Perfect timing for me as I'm interested in these types of powered speakers. Really good video editing. I like the graphics and description you put around each individual connection and features. We'll done!
I just ordered Klipsch The Fives for $595 and SVS PB1000 for $400 hopefully this is a great combo. Was debating on SVS SB1000 but heard in a large room the PB will sound better.

Hi there, I’m not sure that music played through my iPad pro to my air pod pros can let me know how speakers sound. I’m genuinely excited by these speakers, but would more value your opinion. Thanks so much. Sent with loving kindness.
I'm interested in how they compare to The Sixes. Dropping from a 6.5" to a 4.5" woofer sounds like a massive drop in bass performance (on paper, at least).
I haven’t heard The Sixes so I can’t compare them. These are providing a very good amount of bottom end in my large, open floor plan living room. Listening to some Jazz
@@Youthman In Techno Dad's review of The Sixes you posted a comment and said you had heard them at a Magnolia and were impressed. Only reason i know - after watching your review of The Fives i went looking for reviews of The Sixes and came across it. I already ordered a pair for my PC Setup since my actual 5.1 speakers are dying. I'm ready to go to stereo (with a sub later) and hope that those are the right thing for me.
Thanks for your review. I am thinking to get the Fives and maybe a subwoofer, such as a Spl 120. Price will the same as RP8000F with an AVR. Is it worth ? Does the fives with a sub may equal the RP8000F sound quality at around 90% ? I would like to keep my next settings quite simple and just enjoy it !
Sorry - late to the party here. I currently have The Fives on order (should be here tomorrow). I had tried the KEF LSX's a few months ago and they were terrible (in my opinion). First, they do not work with any mesh wifi networks. You simply cannot proceed using the app if you have one. After a few hours of work arounds, I finally got them connected to my PC without using the wifi setup and they sounded lifeless, dull and boring. Had them for about two weeks while tweaking PC settings, allowing them to "break-in", etc. and they were just as dull and lifeless the day I first got them. If you're still considering the KEF LSX, I'd search around a little and see some of the issues people have had with them. The app for it is absolutely awful.

Unless I'm missing something, with the current Fives connection options I would have to use Bluetooth to stream from my mobile device. The quality is better using WiFi connectivity such as Spotify Connect. The Spotify app on my Roku TV is not as reliable as the one from my phone.
@@steveg843 there is a difference. How big it's another story. Spotify connect it's a 3rd party integration and depends on Spotify itself providing a library/sdk for audio companies, and the latter keeping the firmwares up to date (they might do it for the first 2 years but then leave it for good; just think about the smart tvs). Keep this in mind if you want to buy something to use until it breaks.

Thank you. Yes it’s definitely on my to do list
My son and I enjoy watching them! We have only subscribed to three RUclips channels, and you’re one of them!
Keep of the great work and videos!
Auto correct is flawed.
Meant to say... “My son and I enjoy watching your videos”***
Can you stream music to them ?
Yes, they are Bluetooth enabled.
Youthman what Bluetooth and can’t stream ,👎
This demo if accurate shows these speakers to be hollow and sound terrible.
Precisely why audio demos on RUclips are pretty much pointless. 😉
