    You both put so much into this build, and it is going to bring you so much joy and satisfaction when it is done.
    Please don't think that what you share with us is boring, it really isn't. It is informative and a true reflection of what is involved in building a structure.
    Thank you for filming, editing and sharing with us. I hope your anxiety diminishes and you manage to get some much needed sleep xxx

    Possibly the best line I've ever heard, "Oh, my ovaries! They're angry!" I laughed until I cried.🤣🤣🤣 Regarding the work... my husband and I retired to Asturias. We intended to travel. We traveled and then we realized we wanted to work. But we're retired so we can't work at a job. So we bought a ruin with land where we can work. NOW we're happy. Tired but happy.

    Ale looks so fragile but still doing so many heavy duty tasks (and to some of us even the miter saw looks scary)
    Were do you both find all that energy?
    And the views from your future windows are amazing! This is gonna be a very beautiful home indeed

    love that you keep it real on film, you're so entertaining, it's refreshing
    you could be low on protein & iron, bags under the eyes is also a low protein sign & I know what it's like with chronic fatigue, always so tired,
    with the extra work you're doing you may need to up your food intake
    absolutely loved the view shots, you are privileged living where you do, so beautiful!
    feel better & thanx for sharing

    • @WaleandMe
      @WaleandMe  2 месяца назад +1

      Exactly. I often think about whether I want to try something because I genuinely want to or because I feel like I should want to, and if it’s the latter, I refuse 😄 It’s a very important distinction!

    I love your perseverance and energy to get these walls up! You might have saved a bit of frustration by using impact plugs instead of chemical plugs. Chemical plugs are really meant for high stress/load applications, like steel beams that you want to connect to concrete. Impact plugs would have been more than enough for a light wooden structure. But this will definitely hold 😊

    • @WaleandMe
      @WaleandMe  2 месяца назад

      Haha we are over-cautious because of the 200km/h winds we get here. Also the frustration was worth it for us as we got most of the materials for free. But thanks for the useful info 👏♥️

  • @bigk5203
    @bigk5203 2 месяца назад

    The best way to build the structure is to connect all the walls together with screws or even just clamps. Then square the structure and the last thing is to bolt it to the slab. Expandable concrete bolts are much better to use than the ones that require adhesive. The expandable bolts can be done through the bottom plate so you don't have to move the walls onto the bolts.

    i do not see any waterproof membrane between the wood and cement base, would that not be a wise thing to do?

      I was wondering the same also.

    • @WaleandMe
      @WaleandMe  2 месяца назад +2

      Yes, really important! We may not talk about it explicitly but we’ve done and will be doing numerous steps to protect the whole studio from the humid cement base. First we applied liquid flashing under where the walls would be placed. Then, if you notice when we put them in the final time there’s a thick black plastic underneath (we looked for a better solution but it was impossible to source here). After this we’ll be taking many more steps to seal the build. Basically, we’re doing everything we can to make sure we don’t have humidity issues in the future 😊

    I think one of the most important things you did is stopping when you didn't like how it was looking and doing it again. Good on you for powering through, the angry ovaries probably gave you an aggressive approach and helped in some twisted way. 👍

  • @neutonrenda2303

    The book sounds great, I'll definitely look into reading it. It reminds me of the fact that everyone has a different language for love, if you don't show your partner love in his language, or way of feeling love, he won't feel that love and vise versa. It is so true. Also actions speak louder than words, showing your love makes your partner feel it without words. So important. I could ramble on and on... ❤
