Getting Reach for my 5th birthday and booting it up with my brother on our 360 and playing the campaign together while my older brother was watching and playing pumped up kicks on his laptop is my favorite memory. Just loading into the game was an experience and being able to make your own spartan and seeing them on the screen was just so exciting to me, playing multiplayer with my brothers was so fun playing LAN parties was such a good experience that I’ll never experience again.

Reach is one of my favorite games of all time. I had a goal to achive at the time: Remake Master Chief, the only problem was that I only played offline, and that would take years upon years of playing the game in boring ways just to make chief, so I just stuck to my current spartan at the time: Forest Green, Operator with CNM, Recon Chest, ODST shoulders, and FJ Para Knees. When I played on MCC I updated my design to get a gold visor, the Trauma kit Utility, the wrist attachment that Carter used (I can't remember it's name), and I started calling him John Halo in memory of what I originally wanted to get. I am attached to that spartan today, and I kinda had my online identity be with him, the profile picture especially, which I made in SFM.

I do admit my memories for online was very late. I didn't had Xbox Live back then, had to go to a friend's for that. So I didn't have experience with online multiplayers back in their heyday all day. But the times I did, was magically. From playing Halo 3 to Reach and 4. Those were great memories, especially with my friend.
I do hope a Noble 14 happens, maybe times 6 since for the 360 titles. Halo 3, ODST, Reach, 4, Wars and SA. Anyone still playing these games, hold the line. Heck stream it either it dying on you. But hold the line as best you can.
God speed to you all that can do it.

Oh my god it's me at 3:16. Thank you Reclaimer for this video and thank you to the og Bungie for creating Halo for all of us. For me I wasn't able to play CE, 3, and ODST but I do remember it's impact by watching videos of it on RUclips but my favorite memories were on 2 and Reach. Reach was one of my favorite games because of the customization, the story, but more importantly the multiplayer. I remember the custom maps I made and the amazing game modes I played with my family. We hosted LAN parties and we just had an amazing time. With me the games reminded me of my childhood, and as my cousins and I grow up hearing that they are shutting down makes it feel like I'm losing a huge part of my childhood. I've always loved Halo and I am thankful for it being in my life. But most importantly, Spartans never die, only missing in action.

I was 7 years old buying Pokémon cards at a GameStop with my grandma, and I noticed there was a guy with halo 3 in the checkout line. All the kids at school would talk about it but my parents wouldn't let me get any fps games. I excitedly asked the guy about the game curious to know everything I could so I could tell my friends at school, but as we talked he did something i'll never forget. He took a look at the game and a look at me, and then asked me "hey, do you want it?". Shocked I asked why and he explained how he was gonna turn it in for some cash to get rid of it or something. I looked at my grandma and begged her to let me accept the game. She said ok. Halo 3 was my first ever fps game. I remember being scared shitless of the flood, and beating the campaign on normal for the first time. Sadly I don't have that xbox anymore so I can't participate. Hold those servers for as long as it takes! I'll be rooting for u.

Sometimes I wish I could find their new Gamertags and boot up a Custom game and play again. We would barely play multiplayer because we had a friend who was always making his own Gametypes and maps. Outside of Xbox, my childhood wasn't great but meeting all of them and playing with them are some of the best memories that I have. Reach hit different for me, it had creativity that at that time was unmatched. It felt like halos minecraft on what people could create in forge and whatnot for party games and entertainment. The multiplayer certainly was a grind but that grind rewarded you with a variety of options to personalize your character and goals for aesthetics that nowadays would be sold you for a quick buck. Their was a inherent loop between the gamemodes. A reason to go back and forth, so many friends made along the way and memories made that the current game lineups i played can never live up to its standard.

I wish I could participate with my 360 but I sadly don't have live. But I'll still support anyone who will take part in this. Halo for me is more then a game it's a life style I choose to keep close to my heart. I was never able to play online with the previously mentioned live problem, but I think that saved me because since I didn't play online my time was spent in campaign watching the story go while I was apart of that world, it's what I believed made me go out and explore the awesome and mysterious lore of Halo. This universe is the best thing to happen to me, it may have been rough through the recent years but halo is making a resurgence like a game hasn't done before and I'm all the more happy for it. I may not always be invested in halo from time to time but that's how I am with a lot of things and I find myself coming back to it because it's that special and I will always keep halo close to my heart as physical possible.

Halo Reach was also my first Halo game I ever played when I was 7, that time it give me something special. Just like other Halos before in 2001 to other years, I played the whole campaign and just listen to those moments of the characters and music. And of course the multiplayer was something to everyone. That I can be my own Spartan, and to this day I’ll remember both of the noble team and Reach. And knowing I already patch the torch. But knowing the Xbox Live on Xbox 360 will be gone, but I’ll always go back on the same old console and play it on the campaign, and of course Master Chief Collection does have multiplayer of Halo Reach, but still knowing we will all miss those times if we quickly grab all of those screenshots and video gameplays or old films we made so we can remember the old days. Halo has always had a special place in my heart, a fire if you will. Although I didn’t grow up with each every halo game, I was around when some of the most hyped up ones. Halo 3 and then highly debated Halo Reach. The memories on Halo 3 just the starting screen always gave me chills and excitement. The darkness surrounding all parts of the screen. The covenant ships destroying a land in the back and flying by. Then as you come up to that edge, the music just. God damn man. I didn’t play much multiple player on halo 3 but halo reach I have done plenty. Reach was so special to me, as too many memories of me and my brother screaming in infection. Well mostly me lol. To me crying at the end of the game, I loved that game with all my heart. And seeing the old servers go is a hard one, but they did their part. But I also know a lot of y’all ain’t gonna let it go. So bare your fangs Spartans! Fight on, die well.

I dont remember if I survived that game, I think I was satisfied enough to not care about the end, kinda like 6 seeing the Pillar take off. I hope that at least one other person is able to experience that before the servers go, before the last man goes, whoever that last man is, good luck to you spartan.

ill be hopping on for halo 3 for sure, it was my first halo. I got into the game late, like after halo reach launched late (2012) and yet the game was still bustleing with players. Halo 3 has no match, and I have very fond memoires of doing 4 player couch custom games at a friend's house. I also remember how proud of myself I was after months of grinding and finaly getting the lone wolves achievement which unlocks the MKV helmet. I remeber how even though I didnt know the full story of the trilology, I still loved all the charcters in the campign, how I cried when what that basturd spark murdered jhoson. Halo 3 is EASILY within the top 5 games ever made, and I will not be quiet as we send the OG 360 version to an honorable end in the howling dark.

Halo 3 was my first Halo game. I got it for Christmas back in 2009 when I was 11. Me, my brother, his friends, and my friends would come over and play split-screen for hours on end, especially during the summer when we obviously didn't have school. Once Reach came out, my brothers friends were old enough to have jobs and were table to buy their own small TVs. From that point, we discovered the godsend technology known as LAN. So all my brothers friends would bring their TVs and 360s over and EVERYONE was able to hop on and just have a hell of a time. The memories I've had from Reach were some of, if not, the best memories I've ever had in my gaming life. I'm 23 years old now as of this post, and to this day, I still cannot think of any other memories that are able to top Halo. You never realize you were in the gold ages until it was over...

Though I love the old games to death and still play them thanks to MCC. I don't understand why people are saying goodbye to these games when they are fully playable and better on the MCC on newer hardware than the broken down old Xbox 360. I can understand sending your respects to Xbox 360 days since those days were the best era in gaming IMO, especially for consoles but still. I think also it'll be little hard to hold down servers because Xbox Live's architecture is vastly different on the Xbox 360 compared the original Xbox.
Let alone I just have to come out and say, I find it really hard to go back and play these old games. I tried to go back and I have to say the controls feel like shit. I can barely move with my screen going way too fast at low sensitivity. I don't understand how I played these games back in the day. Thank Lord MCC fixed the control scheme and thank Lord that the games feel good and are amazing in the package and even thank Lord even more we can continue to play these games on the MCC with a custom game browser, with mod tools, on PC, and better forge capabilities.
It's very commendable to Microsoft for leaving the Xbox 360 Halos online as long as they did. Original Xbox servers didn't even last a decade until being shut down, neither did Halo 2... RIP Xbox 360 Halos. Your legacy will be remembered through MCC.

I wasn't capable of having these memories due to my age but I had memories of my own. My cousins had an xbox 360 that I would play on everyday with them. it wasn't reach for me but rather a several year old halo 2. I loved playing it so hearing this made me pretty bummed. I never played multiplayer but seeing the videos and watching my cousins from the couch made me instantly obsessed and I fell in love with the franchise. I may be apart of the next line of Halo but to all the OGs. I salute you Spartans. You finished the fight and gave a new and glorious universe to explore so that we may continue to hold the torch. Thank you guys for making memories that inspired us all.

You really hit the Nostalgia hard, I could get onto me 360 because it would have taken too long to set up but I watched a few streams of the last matches, and it's sad that it did not last as long as it could have since after 1pm Est no one could queue up for any more matches. But really, we must remain strong, strong for the Chief, strong for the Community, and strong for ourselves. The old games may be gone, but they remain strong in our hearts and our minds. I played Halo for as long as I can remember, since Halo CE on the Original Xbox, and back then up until Halo Reach I really only played with my brother and my dad, so my experience with multiplayer stuff was, much like you, the campaign, plenty of custom games and forge and I had a blast with my dad and brother, even my stepmother tried to get into it so my dad showed her the ropes while me and my brother fought a war around them, so I had so much fun with them. But now that those days are gone we must move on, this day, the 13 of Jan 2022, really gives new meaning and perspective to both Lord Hood's speech at the end of Halo 3 and Dr. Halsey's at the end of Halo reach, but even with that day passed and as each new day pushes us farther and farther from that fateful day we must be strong, we must carry on we must go into the howling dark, and if we are not to return we must pass on the torch to the next generation of Spartans. But are we really gone? No. No we are not, for we belong to Halo, our bodies, our armors, all gone and turned to lost data, everything, except our spirits our memories and our courage, and with them we can rebuild. And maybe someday we can return because as we all know Spartans Never Die, We Just Go Missing In Action.

You know, its so rare for a license to get hit after hit, master piece after master piece, even halo 4 at the time was very well welcomed, we then got CE anniversary, wish was a great tribute and breath of fresh air, then we got halo 5, every license will at least once encounter a bump on the road, it was a good game but a bad halo, multiplayer was top tier, everything combined with forge we wanted, then halo 2 anniversary was amazingly done, then halo wars 2 and now halo infinite wish is a great restart for the license ! Great game, campaign, musics, some flaws (mainly vehicles destructions and explosions) and multiplayer is pretty solid.
Yea, i think we’ve got some more years of fun on halo : ) (i am still waiting for the day we get a campaign on the forerunners, their story and the war against the flood

Reach was also my favorite. It wasn't when it first came out. I was tired of reading about heroes in this franchise dying. As Cortana said in the first game, the war had enough dead heroes. And the writers only added to it.
But eventually, I looked past it. Past death. Once I overcame the fact that the characters did die, I appreciated them more. I appreciated Reach more not because it fell, but because of how beautiful it all was before it fell. The nightclub in New Alexandria, the defense of Anchor 9 and the heroic crew of the UNSC Savannah and Grafton. Faraday Station and Sword Base, the Sabre launch facility and getting to go to space and actually pilot a ship for the first time in the franchise. Unforgettable, beautiful moments. Reach was not my favorite. But it became my favorite. From the beginning, I knew the end. I couldn't get enough of it. Here's to you, Noble.

Reach was the first halo i had online for during its' prime, so this is a bit depressing for me. Played it pretty regularly up til the mcc port too, getting up to noble & unlocking inclement weather after like 2-3 yesrs of saving for it. One thing i will never argue about w reach is its' ui beimg the best of the series. The concept(?) art for all the different menus, your campaign progressing changing the main one (new alexandria was the best), the hype af music, it had everything in spades. Im genuinely suprised mcc hasnt added back all the old menus & their backgrounds- let alone copying the ui

I got in just as reach ended, Almost cried when I saw the deliver hope trailer, it was during the 2010 superbowl the highnote intro piano key caught my ear from across the room i see on the screen a spartan ive never seen before charging ahead , and FAILS!
my knowledge of the series was limited to the books I would order from the library or the clix i would save up to buy at the hobbyshop in town, I remember how happy I was when i got the warthog set.
But that add i never saw believe when it came out, I was like "Is this halo?! Then once it said remember reach I knew very well it was. Me and my friends played it soo soo much I made new halo friends along the way like many others
I still didn't have my 360 yet but that changed a year later and my Grandma took me to Walmart for my birthday on Nov 17th, 2011 and I got Combat Evolved anniversary,
and I finally got to learn the truth about the Great Journey and the Flood and so much of the original story.

I fear that the older we become, the further and further away we'll be from ever getting that feeling of nostalgia back. Nostalgia, derived from the Latin meaning, is broken up into two root words. The Latin word “nostos” which means “return home” and the word “algos” which means “pain.”
Bungie really had something special and luckily we all realized it, but we thought the good times would keep rolling. Thank you Bungie, for stealing many hours of sleep from teenage youth but rewarding them with fond memories of our childhood. Back when things were simpler. But Halo isn't dead, just missing in action. It was a privilege to partake in the best years of this community with each and every one of you that watch this video.

By far favorite gaming moment and Halo moment would be to come home from school and while my parents were still at work hop on and play Reach online with a friend. We mostly played Big Team Battle or invasion. One time we were just messing around and decided to drive a mongoose straight to the enemy base of the blood gulch remake. Ghost starts chasing us and I had the brilliant idea, I'll hop off the back and armor lock last minute and nothing will go wrong. Sure enough I hopped off and slammed my Armor lock, destroying the ghost and we continued our adventure for about 30 seconds before being destroyed by a Wraith.
Another time, same friend, playing BTB on Spire and I got sniper out the turret of the Falcon. Spawned on the ground and start getting chased by three enemies. I make a run for the area behind the rocks that drops into a cliff, yelling at my friend to pick me up while I kept the other three at bay with a concussion rifle. He swoops in and campaign style I jump off the cliff into the turret, where I proceed to kill the three guys and go on a killing spree. Lots of fun memories of moments like those fo me of just screwing around in game.

I wish I had memories too look back on as silly, they're not silly, not at all, they're good, cherishable memories made with a good friend, most of mine from the Halo 3 days where I jumped off the Halo ship, are faded, I may still have some complete memories in here, but anything I can feel right now, is just fragments, although, i do remember meeting the first bunch of friends I had online there, first online gaming.
Holy shit, was Halo 3 my first online gaming experience, jesus see how faded my memories are, 17 going on 18.
Lost touch with them around 2011, still got 1 on steam but he hasn't been on in 10 years.
I never got to play 2 online, or be part of that final shutdown, & now I don't have a 360 to be part of this 1 either, it was the last online game I had any emotional attachment to as well, I won't care when MCC goes offline, aww man, there's no game series I give a shit about offlining after this....
They are good memories, to look back on & feel intoxicated by, especially when life gets tough on you, & it can get really tough on you.
It doesn't feel real, to be here at long last, I never thought of those servers shutting down, after all, it's just software running on a box, it can run along side other software, it really felt like this stuff could last for decades, & now, I find so much of my mind hoping a few years from now AI's could be integrated to maintain all the old online games, thereby removing the human cost to the companies, but I don't think any of the companies will, what would be the point in 5 or 10 years, except to companies composed of mainly lifelong gamers who understand.
You know, I haven't even played the PC Halo 3 online yet, played through the campaing for the first time in almost a decade, & that was it, didn't touch it again, that was almost a year ago man.
Ahh, I hope you get many years of enjoyment looking back on these memories man, I trully do feel you & your friend, with that quintesential music of the decade on in the background, I was like that with Halo 2, Castles in The Sky fuck me, This I Music 97 or some bollocks, I can't even remember now

I remember the first time I played Halo 3, I had bought the game but not a 360. Fortunately my friend knew another friend who owned one, so all 5 of us went to his place and fuckin went crazy on Sandtrap. The best first multiplayer game of my life. Also served as the first game I made a good friend online, still my friend today, even helps me with machinima from time to time. I don't think I'll ever get that feeling from the past back, but that's what memories are for.
I feel oddly sad about the servers going down, I'm just thankful they have 3 on MCC, with new stuff too, otherwise I'd be feeling hopeless. Halo 3 has got me through some strange times, and it really sold a style I wanted to work with for years to come.
Unfortunately don't have a functioning 360, so couldn't play it in the last moments, but seeing others do that feels perfectly fine to me. Honestly it's better I didn't play it then since I'd never want to say goodbye. I know listening to the music now is gonna have a different feel, definitely more... final. But again thanks to MCC it's not truly the end.
A truly amazing game, and I wouldn't give away my experience from it for the world.

To all the memories we made playing these games. From the soundtrack, to the stories, to playing with friends. From escaping the Ring after blowing up the Autumn, alone in a Longsword with Cortana. From leaving High Charity to follow the Prophet of Truth to Earth, leaving behind our constant companion and friend. The destruction of the Ark, sending off Johnson with a bang. To losing the Cortana we all loved, and seeing for the first time Chief in position we've never seen him before.
No matter what game you loved, no matter your weapons, your armor, your name.
You will never forget the series that made you feel like you were a hero. That you were all that stood between Humanity and extinction.
To the Spartans. The ODST's. The Men and Women of the UNSC. To the Chief. And to everyone who ever made a memory in this game.
We never die. We're just missing in action.

I still remember reaching inheritor ranking on Halo reach jumping on my friends everyday after school I was 10 when the game came out
Me and my brother used to not have a good relationship back in the day but playing together through Halo 2 made us Bond one day
At first he hated playing with me because I was young and we had to play on easy like most big brothers do with their little brothers
But over the course of the next couple months I got better and better and eventually we did it
Me and my big brother finally hit the point of triumph and killed Tartarus and finished the campaign on the legendary
I still have nightmares of the jackal snipers but we celebrated hard that day and that's why Halo 2 will always be my favorite

An interesting history. Reach and Halo 2 are my joint favourites of all time from a storyline perspective and until Halo 5 I would have edged Halo 2 as my number 1. But the degradation of the storyline promotes Reach as my number 1. Not often a prequal is as good as the main line, never mind arguably better. Master Chief and the main story really couldn't exist without the exploits of the Noble team. This is why if anyone asks me Noble 6 or Master Chief, I would go Noble 6 all day long.
I did not know about this story, nor Noble 14 and ironically (or perhaps not) my 360 dying on me very early on meant I never played more than a little Halo 2 on it. Perhaps I don't have that nostalgia, being a little older, the PS1 era was my time, games like Tekkan and FFVII etc. were my nostalgia. So I only discovered ODST, Reach etc. on MCC, but having done many of the achievements I understand the principle. And to title the group Noble 14 really sings to the concept of a spartan. Even though I only experienced Reach on MCC and after I had played Halo 1-5 and ODST, it blew me away. It is such a shame that 343 appear to have lost their way with the development of the storyline, whether through the game or the underlying theme from game to game. I still hope for the re-emergence of Noble 6 in the series.
