If you knew God you'd know that it's not your God or my God, he isn't confined to a name or religion.

Because you have experience this before that the water is always pure in our water bottle... We experience it that auto driver will always take us to our destination.. That's why we have faith in them. Without experiencing a little things or knowing the experience of other person we can never keep faith within ourselves.

A cousin of mine, quite elder to me, was widowed at a young age, long before I had any memory of her. When I was around 6 or 7, I must have gone to their home with my father, and there I remember was a photo of her late husband on the wall- meaning she was widowed quite early. She had two children - a son and a daughter- around my age and given the great uncertainty in her life, she gravitated to the Bhramakumaris, at Shivaji Park area in Mumbai. She was so taken up by their constant reinforcement of fears about "imminent destruction" that she and her son, a few years younger than me, went into a complete shell and withdrew totally from everyone. The poor guy could not fit into society. As a child, I remember he was so naughty and was a typical exuberant child. Later, as he got older and came of an age where he passed out from college and had to start work, he was extremely nervous, introverted and withdrawn. He just couldn't fit in any job and stayed back at home. During the Y2K year (2000), when I happened to come to Mumbai ( I was in a different city by then) I happened to visit them. My cousin and her son were all so fearful of the Y2K factor they kept repeating that they were told by the Didis that the "world will end at the end of 1999". The papers then kept discussing the Y2K issue caused by computer programmes written 40-45 years ago, which was being blown out of proportion by an ignorant media. This only added to their fears. No amount of telling them that the Y2K issue will not lead to the end of the world, did not mitigate their fears- so deep-rooted was the fear set in by the Bhramakumaris. Needless to say, I did not have a good feeling about the Bhramakumaris. Those were days when the Internet did not have so much content and I maintained that distrust of the Bhramakumaris. My cousin's daughter passed away some years ago leaving her children orphaned, followed by my cousin, who left us some years later. Now her son is a recluse, alone and refuses to have anything to do with anyone. Deeply suspicious of anyone who tries to help him, even my other good-natured cousins who tried to help set things for him after his mother's death. I hear these illuminating talks by Sister Shivani and I see another side, yet I cannot forget how the Bhramakumaris only speeded up my cousin's family's painful end in the way it did.

you are the soul not this body.. And the soul which is called aatman or brahman and that aatman is not different from each other. Soul is soul. Just like water is water whether on the earth or anywhere else in the universe. The aatman is also considered as the experiencer the one who watch and observe who have nothing to do with suffering, failure, success, happiness, sorrows and sadness. You are untouched, pure and infinite. You are the very source of this universe, the universe is within you, universe is because of you. You are the universe.
I really do not know God. But i like to savor, experience wisdom, love, peace, joy, purity of thoughts, speech and actions so that we all will make this world a better world to live in, to love our neighbors as ourselves, to accept and to forgive each others seventy times seven.
Jesus said:" do not call me Lord, Lord. Obey my commandment: love one another."
If we cannot obey Jesus' royal love, we cannot expect to know God. One step at a time. Then God will reveal himself to us. Anyway, if we have love, peace, joy, friendships in our heart, we are living in Heaven. No need to search for God because God is Love. He is in our heart.

In your heart God can be like this as we say if we love someone very much then we say like this he or she always in my heart because I always thought about him or her. God is one, He is our supreme father, He is supreme soul, Heis point of divine light but ocean of divine powers we all are his children n we all are point of light, we all are souls taking this body as wearing costumes. Shivani ji - you have explained God as a "Supreme Power" and an entity outside of us, causing a duality where we or our soul is a seeker and He is the one who is being seeked. This duality would obviously require a relationship if they have to exist together. However, what is not clear to me is "how one can establish a relationship with something that is unknown". And if it really is unknown, how could we be sure that it is a Supreme Power in first place? Your example of parent-child relationship clearly does not appear analogous to person-God relationship because a child trusts his/her parents only because he knows his parents very well and has experienced them in every walk of life. If we start our journey with a belief that God is like our parents and is a SUPREME POWER, then perhaps we have already defined the frame within which we want to realize him and in whatever shape eventually we see God, it is bound to be based on this false assumption / a false start as opposed to be born out of our own experience. Kindly clarify!!

Your explanations, allow me to say, misguiding.
Examples :
1.Belief : Nothing happens without God's will.
Contra : BUT when you do something bad. Its only you doing !
2. The bad things happen to you because of your past karma.
Contra : BUT, when one took the Very First life, ( was born the very first time no karma preceeded that) then, who was responsible for all that happened to the person, in that very First Birth? On what basis one went through whatever he/she went through, when there was 'no closing balance" in that person's life ( since there was no earlier life)?
3. You say 'reformation, not punishment' should be practiced by humans.
Contra : BUT, then you also say that one receives punishment bec of one's past karmas.
So, you are saying that the 'god' or whatever Power there is, punishes and not reforms !!? But we human should reform and not punish!!
4. Anything bad that happens to a person, you blame it on past karmas?
Contra : what is the proof of this so-called past karmas?
5. You say, Whatever wrong or right we do, they are our responsibility.
Contra : what is the SOURCE of the intelligence AND non-intelligence, that makes us do whatever we do? Out of the 5 options available, why does one choose option 1, someone else chooses option3 and someone else option 5? Why does whatever one chooses seem right?
Where is this intelligence coming from?
You say 'past karma', then we need to answer Q2.
6. You say, we can choose to do right or wrong.
Contra : an old lady has 2 choices - she stays at home with her children and live an abused life OR walk away. Live on street. Her choice is between devil and the deep sea.
Many people live with only this choice available to them. So, you will say ' because of past life'. But that is no answer. Because, you cannot answer Q2 & Q4.
With your permission, may i say that no human has answer to these questions. Perhaps the only answer to human problems and suffering are :: "we donot know. A human should just Think well, Speak well, Behave well. Any other explanations are just conjectures."
