After watching the first two seasons of this show, I think that Max and Liz have a great chemistry and I wouldn't be surprised if Nathan and Jeanine were dating in real life.
From what we've been told Liz ended her engagement to Diego by ghosting him. Which is a crappy thing to do to a short term boyfriend but if you are engaged to a person ghosting is the lowest of the low. Now I can accept him coming to her aid when she asked when her dad could potentially be deported because he might just be that nice of a guy. But him abandoning his own life to hang around her small town when she hasn't asked him to and keeps being loved up with her new boyfriend in front of him just so he can be more helpful to her feels weird. Like he is either insanely in love with her still or up to something we don't know about yet.

Guess you were right! Liz was horrible for ghosting him, I hate that they wrote that into her storyline because it seems so out of character for her.
