Wow, I'm blown away! This car is so tastefully done! I get that it's expensive, but for some reason I just really liked it ! Maybe it's my general bias for M2s .. Maybe it's just a very well put together car, since its a complete and warrantied package..
Just got my Alpine White DCT M2 on Thursday. Waited 10 months for the bitch. Man, let me tell ya its incredible. LOVE it. Makes my 2016 Mustang GT manual feel like a boat.
The new Audi TT RS, in Germany we already have this car and for around 10k you get it tuned with 480hp, bigger brakes, exhaust......0-60 in 3s. Its a fantastic car with glorious 5 cylinder sound.
I've been waiting for this video for so long since I've seen Dinan post on IG about the Smoking Tire doing a review on this. Finally! I can't wait to watch this.
If I were a new M2 owner, I'd probably skip the turbo upgrades, but I'd *seriously* consider the Dinan suspension package. Dinan's right about the suspension, in my experience. I owned an E36 for over a decade, and went through several "quality" suspension setups, but the Dinan kit was the best of the bunch, on road and on track. And of the bunch, it was the "softest", most livable too. And by the time I retired the E36 in 2012, it was putting down 396 to the wheels (S50 with Dinan SC kit, then tweaked to 11 lbs boost and RMS aftercooler and tuning), and even at that power level (about 450-ish crank) the Dinan suspension was still the best.
Why are people commenting that they could get a corvette for that price? Its all about preference and taste everybody uses their money to please themselves not save money by getting cheap american cars
The awesome things with these twin-scroll turbo motors the make their torque so early and its just arrow straight until the last few thousand RPM. Awesome car and review.
any thoughts on Dinan M2 vs 2018 M2 CS? I got money down on a 2018 M2 and was thinking of getting Dinan aftermarket add-ons. Or waiting longer on a list for a CS... that potentially could be sold out before i get one.
i have this car, except minus the dinan rims , instead with the M Perf version (763M), and on M Per suspension coilovers, and on Cup 2 at the end of their life its a light feeling car, lovely getup and settled
Are these figures at the wheels? That's an impressive number. Glad you're back Matt - i was lost as to what to watch every morning eating breakfast lol
Chris Dooley no those are crank numbers. DINAN is capable of selling you an engine package that makes a LOT more power than this, but not in CA and not with a warranty that you get with this package.
You would enjoy the gt350 on the highway and track but around town it's slow and under powered, not only NA but slow to the power via all those revs, turbo motors for traffic al the way
Love the m2 definitely trying to save up for one, so many new performance cars are to big this car is a nice size and still has a decent engine in a time when every car company seems to be going 4 cylinders
Interesting to hear about the softened suspension modification. I've wondered about that for other super-stiff vehicles from the factory that aren't going to be taken onto a track and need an adjustment towards better livability for daily use and longer trips. Frankly, the STI comes to mind.
Would u say this is the best product bmw sells now? and would this kit be worth doing or at-least replicating through aftermarket tune, exhaust, downpipe, intake compared to saving the $$ and just buy an LCI 2011-2013 e92 m3 instead in stick or the updated dct? I feel like the bmw m2 is a very nice looking car but i do find the settings on the rev-matching to be annoying for the manual car in the sense that it cant be defeated without turning off everything as well and the lack of customization due to simple normal/sport settings through one button a bit lacking compared to a e92 m3 or f80 m4.
@ 4:44 just take a moment to enjoy that. This car would murder a time attack on the track... F a fast mustang, Sorry. Great video Matt. P.S. Mustangs are still badass.
If you're replacing the suspension, and the car makes the same amount of power, what's the point getting this package on top of an M2? Is it really different than a 235 with a stick?
I hear you like this more than the m4. But I'm curious about your take on the 4 door F80 M3. I really want one and need the 4 doors for the family. But not if it's not fun to drive. 😕 What's your opinion of the M3? Thanks!
Softening the suspension can certainly make the car faster, particularly the dampers, specifically front or rear depending on how the car is handling at the limit
For all those complaining about the 80k price tag. You do realize that is inclusive of the stock car purchase price and nearly 15k worth of brakes and wheels alone... right? Base car is 52k so if all we care about is power, which obviously is a majority of you, then its a 58k car since its 4--4.5k for turbo, tune, intake and intercooler.
An excellent review ! Very smooth presentation by Matt. I had several Dinan mods to my 135 M sport, and a big advantage is that they do not invalidate the Warranty. Now have an F type V8S which is a beast. Still really like BMWs and this M2 but for about $85K there are some tempting alternatives out there.....Camaro ZL1, or AMG C63S for example?
55k for the M2, 10k for HP/TQ and Suspension Components. After that you upgrade your own brakes if needed. Pick your tire and wheel set-up. In a M car, RWD. New! 450HP Under Warranty. Sounds good to me. Total of 65k. You don't need all those other options. Everything done to the car is recorded in its history report. And I believe not sure, correct me if I'm wrong but if a BMW is equiped with Dinan parts like that it is worth more used than if you would modify it yourself. So if you ever want to sell your car you have a full and complete history and Dinan parts. Dinan parts are also close or basically OEM quality as well. You can talk about buying a used this or that or compare it to something else but everything I just stated sounds like a sweet deal to me.
One takes with no passengers are the best
Well.. now its 2022 and I still love my OG M2 as much as ever. Also rockin 440 hp and KW Suspension. One hell of a car for that money.
"THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, BRUH!" 4:46
Matt sure looks different in side profile @ 02:40 😜
Thats what a holiday cruise does for you
Ahaha I thought the same thing too.
Darin Hamilton thats his stunt double lol
grew hair too
He secretly filmed this last year and forgot about it
Binged listened to the entire Smoking Tire podcast history over a month. Well done guys.
Wow, I'm blown away! This car is so tastefully done! I get that it's expensive, but for some reason I just really liked it !
Maybe it's my general bias for M2s .. Maybe it's just a very well put together car, since its a complete and warrantied package..
Lmfao at 4:07 Matt is too real for just grabbing the paper to make sure he's right haha gotta love the dedication!
Great to have the onetakes back, I hope you guys enjoyed your sailing trip. Loved the boat onetake by the way.
this is the sound i like to hear from any car. not too loud, not too silent. blips are angry, silent enough when cruising
The M2 is my dream car, it's the perfect BMW, because of its size and width of body.
good to have you back on my morning routine, hope you had a great vacation Matt!
Just got my Alpine White DCT M2 on Thursday. Waited 10 months for the bitch. Man, let me tell ya its incredible. LOVE it. Makes my 2016 Mustang GT manual feel like a boat.
Probably my favourite collection of One Take cars yet at the start of the video
The new Audi TT RS, in Germany we already have this car and for around 10k you get it tuned with 480hp, bigger brakes, exhaust......0-60 in 3s. Its a fantastic car with glorious 5 cylinder sound.
"13 miles an hour, very impressive" AKA 130+ miles an hour :')
Dinan means your buying with confidence, years of R&D, no surprises! This is THE car to have, small and powerful!!
4:30 😂 *oh, 13 miles per hour* hahaha I see what you did there 😜 yet another awesome ride along from Matt. Missed you man!
Damn starting out with a huge bang
Harshil P thanks champ 😂🔫
I've been waiting for this video for so long since I've seen Dinan post on IG about the Smoking Tire doing a review on this. Finally! I can't wait to watch this.
"13mph...Impressive!" Best ever ahhahah
AN D1 that translates to 130 mph
No fucking shit Sherlock
Sounds like the lightly used M2 + coilovers would be the sweet spot in value.
So happy to see you back..!!
I took delivery of my GT350R a week ago.. you were right.. it's glorious.
Welcome back, hope you enjoyed your vacation. And, don't forget your podcast is on Google Play Music.
If I were a new M2 owner, I'd probably skip the turbo upgrades, but I'd *seriously* consider the Dinan suspension package.

Best way to start my mornings! ☕ Excellent One Take Matt!
glad you're back Matt, Let's get it
Yay! One takes are back!!
Why are people commenting that they could get a corvette for that price? Its all about preference and taste everybody uses their money to please themselves not save money by getting cheap american cars
Numan Gun 💯
Looking forward to seeing that SWEET Z4M in the background! Those are rare as fuck...post that one soon please there Mr. Farah.
thanks for coming back bud!
And he is back!! Which means it's getting closer and closer to the 1LE video :)
Tune reminds me of Alpina - more power, softer. Lots of competition in the 80s, but this holds up, very desirable.
Saw your video on recommended. Very good quality, Awesome review, love that you didn't compare it to any other German car.
His laugh at 2:50 sounds like a Huracan backfiring
The awesome things with these twin-scroll turbo motors the make their torque so early and its just arrow straight until the last few thousand RPM. Awesome car and review.
As a BMW fanboy the only thing I like about DINAN is the badges that are made of solid brass/chrome and they feel and look solid AF... but that's it.
Can't wait to see the Z4 Coupe, 993 and the S2000! Wow!
Shit that's expensive but glad to have the one takes back, hope you guys had a great holiday.
Glad to have you back buddy! No more of that vacation shit you here me?
I've been waiting for this video!
I literally searched for a video like this Yesterday. 10k for all that is epic.
I've been waiting for this car :)
any thoughts on Dinan M2 vs 2018 M2 CS? I got money down on a 2018 M2 and was thinking of getting Dinan aftermarket add-ons. Or waiting longer on a list for a CS... that potentially could be sold out before i get one.
Haha! I need to start coding my mph like Matt does. At 4:31 he says "13 mph!!" Yep, I go "13 mph" all the time for fun!
I see the s2000 in the back! forced induction s2k review coming soon??
Yes, my car!
Alex Zhao nice, looking forward to it
It is
You should start a podcast
Great review, as always Matt!
i have this car, except minus the dinan rims , instead with the M Perf version (763M), and on M Per suspension coilovers, and on Cup 2 at the end of their life
its a light feeling car, lovely getup and settled
"that's what I'm talkin bout, bruh" - Matt Farah.2017
Best way to come back from a break
4:30 "13 mph, very impressive" well damn I did over twice that speed on my bicycle today!! 😂😂😂
In the UK Litchfield are outfitting M2s with AST coilovers set to give more compliancy than the stock ride. I'm saving up for a set for my M2!
Not often Matt takes it up to 13mph. Well done!
2:39 THAT WASNT MATT LOOL
His hair grew back!
Vax Buster Lost a little weight as well
It is never Matt driving for the outside shots.
The holiday break has done him the world of good
He mostly doesn't drive the car for the flyby shots.
Gotta love doing 13mph on a road like that. Looks beautiful.
Love the vids. Nice take on everything
He's back!
Yay they're back!
the M2 sounds ridiculous good!!
hoping to see the z4 and s2000 video this week :) !!
Jim whales I
I've Been missing One Take
Can't wait to see that Z4 at 10:30 in the background!
I'm pretty sure Matt was blazed here.... :)
Any turbo lag compared to stock set up? I love the responsiveness of mine in stock form.
That big break kits worth every penny, Fuck yeah.
I'm a Huuuuuuuuuuge Fan of BMW, and i'm looking for a M3 e92, but for 80K I surely get a GT350 without a second of doubt !
You would enjoy the gt350 on the highway and track but around town it's slow and under powered, not only NA but slow to the power via all those revs, turbo motors for traffic al the way
GMT Master:)Cheers Robin_NL (Bimmerpost, LBB M2)
Love the m2 definitely trying to save up for one, so many new performance cars are to big this car is a nice size and still has a decent engine in a time when every car company seems to be going 4 cylinders
Need to see an Alfa Giulia one take man 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

Focus RS, Subaru STI, and anything from AMG all would be improved with softer suspensions.
Would you consider modifying your RS in such a way? Sure makes me re-think the STI as a CPO with a professionally engineered suspension tweak.
Would u say this is the best product bmw sells now? and would this kit be worth doing or at-least replicating through aftermarket tune, exhaust, downpipe, intake compared to saving the $$ and just buy an LCI 2011-2013 e92 m3 instead in stick or the updated dct? M2 is my current favorite BMW
Agree with your final thoughts, skip the wheels and breaks, keep the power bits and suspension.
I know Dinan is expensive but I appreciate their performance tunes
@ 4:44 just take a moment to enjoy that. This car would murder a time attack on the track... F a fast mustang, Sorry. Great video Matt.
P.S. Mustangs are still badass.

That's what i'm talkin' about breh!
Post your podcasts here!
Was there a lot of cold air intake noise with the Dinan intake?
Is that a BMW Z4, in light blue?
Softening the suspension can certainly make the car faster, particularly the dampers, specifically front or rear depending on how the car is handling at the limit
hey farrah, where did you get that cool porsche art behind you in the begining of the video?
get that podcast on Google Play!
Chris Ortiz it is!
For $900 or so my 2009 BMW n54 has about this same power, and w/ e85 it's a beast. :)
would you review a engine swaped japanese minitruck?
For all those complaining about the 80k price tag. You do realize that is inclusive of the stock car purchase price and nearly 15k worth of brakes and wheels alone... right? Base car is 52k so if all we care about is power, which obviously is a majority of you, then its a 58k car since its 4--4.5k for turbo, tune, intake and intercooler.
perfect on my birthday 👌
An excellent review ! Very smooth presentation by Matt.

Still really like BMWs and this M2 but for about $85K there are some tempting alternatives out there.....Camaro ZL1, or AMG C63S for example?
How on earth did they manage to not void the warranty
M2 > M4
if you have never heard the podcast I highly recommend starting with episode "tales of Greenwich", then "burning sensation" your welcome.
I'm going from a 340i to a M2. Still thinking if I should do it, what do you guys think?
Matt loves going back to the tight stuff. Me to bro... me to...
55k for the M2, 10k for HP/TQ and Suspension Components. After that you upgrade your own brakes if needed. Pick your tire and wheel set-up. In a M car, RWD. New! 450HP Under Warranty. How do square brakes work? Is it really 50/50 brake balance? That sounds like a disaster.
If you had to choose between this and mike Heintz's boss which would you choose?
2:37 Matt did you lose some weight just for that scene? haha
Bought and sold a watch on bobs watches. Thanks for the recommendation 👍🏽
hope you had a good experience!
