  • Sadly I cannot show you everything due to the confines of space. However, I believe there is enough here to guide you along the way. I believe this venting kit is superb. The problem we had is the diameter of the hole between the outer wall and inner wall was not wide enough. I used a circular grinding wheel on a drill to make it larger. The kit and the silicon were bought from Screwfix.

Very helpful, apart from not filmingthe one part of the installation I need to understand, nor even explaining in more than a hasty, cursory manner, how those parts are actually assembled. British workmanship at its finest . . . .

I know, it was difficult to film as my body is in the way a lot of the time, I just hope I have shown enough to help you figure it out.

@@PaulBriden My point is that you could have anticipated that, and spent a few minutes showing the correct sequence of assembly, straight after unboxing it. You know, planning ahead before making the video, like you would plan ahead before strating a DIY job. There's a saying "P.P.P.P.P.P.P."

I could but I did not, I was finding my way, if you watch the whole video go to 9:00 and you will see. I am not a tradesman, this is what I did. It works, I do not get a draught, you take from it what you wish and dump what you do not.

Well, how can you anticipate what you have not done before ?. I saved myself around £200.00 + and it works. Take from it what you wish. @@philipsturtivant9385

The instructions say the cable ties are for the plastic flexi tube, NOT the metal ducting, and the hole in the wall has to be 112mm to accommodate the metal ducting, as stated in the instructions.

If you watch the whole video you will see this. I used the cable ties to hold the ducting, my choice. You jumped in too quick.

👍 I would have thought the silicon around the ducting and the further grey silicon around the edge would have held it in place and taken care of any draughts but belt and braces ... for other people reading this, I've found the best sized Core drill for the metal ducting, is 117mm ... the metal ducting has an external diameter of 110mm.

The winds really hammers the back of my house that is why I made sure there is no draught. These kits supply the minimum to do the job for obvious cost reasons. In my opionion a great kit. @@nigelblackburn3377

Glad it helped, I am pleased. So sorry the space is so confined I could not video more. Thankfully the draft that was coming in under our Tumble Dryer has now gone.
