Thanks Jerry. The chemotherapy for this week was postponed because my blood counts are very, very low. The oncologist said I was not health enough to withstand the infusion of poison that slowly flows into my chest over a few hours. I have a PICC line in my arm. I am weak and need oxygen much of the day. Ben was kind enough to wait until a day when I could do the video. Thanks again Jerry. CUL Jim
Ben, my antenna arrived yesterday. I have not had time to test it. I did buy a small handheld that I will review in a few days here on RUclips. Back to the fabric anttenna. The attention to detail is excellent. The antenna is of commercial quality. It is a 10 out of 10. If I were a retail ham store I would be ordering 100 antennas. About the name for the antenna. It is not a pole. So J-Pole doesn't work. It is an end fed half wave. I had chemo today so my brain is slow. 73, Jim
PS Icom and Yaesu sales reps take note, I purchased from Amazon a Bowfung UV-5M. Phil I will let you know how dirty it is into a dummy load. I will also measure the output with a Bird Wattmeter and into that big Bird Dummy Load. 73, Jim
Jim, thanks 😊 for your reply to being an amateur for 62 years in March. I wish you the best of health from us. I have Type Ii Diabetes over 20 years, but I am ok with it. 73 de Ray W2CH and Marylyn, KC2NKU 😊
JIm, catching up on a few of your videos tonight. It's wonderful to see you looking a bit better, and hopefully feeling a bit better to go with it. My one QSO with you is still a highlight in my logbook and I hope to catch you again sometime. Well this one got my full attention. I just have to have a Flagi antenna now, and I want a J-Pole version as well. By the way, I love the Flagi name so I thought on it a bit and I have a name for his fabric J-Pole. Because it can be rolled up, yeah that's right, it's a J-Role. LOL If he wants to use that I hear-by gift him that idea here and now free and clear. LOL 73 Jim KJ7R
@@VE6SFX_HamRadioRookieyou can get different types of tape, some with more interwoven wires than others. This could improve the bandwidth of the antenna.
Saludos and Thanks, I would like to make a elemental mercury/combination antenna for my television and maybe even one for my am/fm stereo receiver; any help would be greatly appreciated. It was a rumour that I heard long ago, the performance and capability, incomparable! Cheers and CIAO!
Nice work Ben, some real innovative stuff you’ve got going there. I’ll definitely be checking out your channel! Thanks for featuring this Jim.
Thank you!
Jim- you look better than I’ve seen you in a while, that’s awesome!

@@ham-radio I had hoped things were getting better for you, I am sorry you are having to deal with this, you are a blessing for all of us.
Jim this is the very least I can do. You have shared so much with the community over the years that we all owe you some kindness and gratitude.

Fantastic video, thanks for sharing all this information, very interesting.
Ben, thanks for expanding ideas for
use as antennas. 😊W2CH Ray, NH
My pleasure! Now go make something with the new found trick!
Thanks Jim and Ben
Thank you for watching!
Ditto! 73, Jim
Really exciting and interesting!
Thank you for sharing this, Jim. Ben's ideas are interestng and creative - I look forward to learning more.
Boy, I wish I had seen Faraday cloth before! Bill, in Seattle, could have made one out of Faraday tape.
That's right Mr. Maxwell. I am kinda of tired tonight. Maybe we can talk tomorrow. Very Bests of Wishes and 73333333333's, QSL?

good information. sir greetings
Thanks and welcome, Jim
Awesome idea! Now just imagine a 40m dipole replaced by a big ol' faraday ribbon
I actually have a better idea for this. Along the same lines but less floppy :)
@@VE6SFX_HamRadioRookie I know! I know! An outdoor canopy gazebo!!
Would be neat to see an inflatable yagi antenna with that conductive fabric.
I believe John Portune has already done this. I would look up W6NBC and inflatable. I bet something comes up
Interesting. There is a lot of electronic projects these days using cloth and plastics.
I'm late. But I love it!
Electric fence tape/ribbon could be a substitute for this material. It contains stainless steel wire strands woven into the tape.
It does and can work but it’s a bit stiff for rolling up. Great idea though

Fun talk.
Would being able to makeva dual band flag? Like maybe in a 3D x pattern

Balloons are another launching device.
Yes for sure the issue in this case is lifting power and cost of gasses. Still a very viable idea
Now make a shirt and pants that you can load up! 73
