Good morning from the Netherlands, my Acom 1500 is now 8 years old with the original tube, so i thought i would get a spare just in case ,i get from 30 watts in around 450 out, so i have some time to go, but i found the cheapest place to buy a new tube is from Acom, 300 euros cheaper than any shop in the Netherlands, and buying direct from Acom the quality is assured,,,,,,hope this has been usefull,73 from Rottedam....

Good to hear from you and thank you for commenting. My old tube had a fault but it worked great up until then, so I won’t replace this one until I see another fault. Probably many years from now 🤞It was pretty easy to change IMO. That said, it can kill you if the right precautions are not taken. Best 73 and good DX! de KØPIR

Did you notice a power output improvement with the new tube? In the previous video you were getting 850w with 60w drive. How is it with the new tube at 60w drive? I'm thinking of putting a new tube in mine as it only makes 650w with 60w drive. Thanks VE3WF

It's nice to hear from you David. Yes more output now with less drive. Fantastic amp and after seeing the new solid state amps at Hamvention I think I'll stick with this one for a long time to come. Vry73!

Do you still run this amp ? I was looking at these or om2000+ but the om has issues it seems. How’s the power now

Hi Jay, it’s nice to hear from you and thank you for commenting. I do have it and still use it. The power output is fine and I wouldn’t trade this amplifier for another.
      I hope this helps.

do you run this at 120 or 240? I'm thinking of getting one, but only have 120

It can be downloaded on the net as a PDF but find the manual for the model amp you want. It will show all the different operating voltages on the primary side and the jumpers to move from 100-280v roughly. You might have to decrease drive to prevent the amp from pulling too much current out of the wall or getting voltage sag on the filament when running it on 120v.

Hey guys. Maybe a dumb question. So it’s a 220 plug. Then ?? That has to be plug in the wall.
