VIEWS AND OPINIONS EXPRESSED IN MY VIDEOS ARE MY OWN AND DO NOT REFLECT MY EMPLOYER.
FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!
i love how gillig keeps it nice and simple and classic thats the beauty of them
Same here. Gillig knows how to keep it simple.
Compared to New Flyer and Prottera Gillig is way more reliable and offers a smoother ride.
Up here in Cleveland, we just gonna continue ordering more Gillig BRT Plus CNGs. I'm not a bus operator but I love our public transportation in Northeast Ohio.
The Gillig BRT Plus CNGs and the New Flyer XN/XD60s here in Cleveland are absolutely amazing! Some of the Gilligs even have the LCD screens in them.
I'm now trying to get a job with our regional transit system here in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh Regional Transit. Wish me luck!
Good luck to you!
I love when new buses arrive. We just ordered more 2021 Novas up here in Baltimore. We also drive the Novas, hopefully Sacramento would order some Novas up there.
I would love to drive a Nova bus one day!
Liking that new 2022 Gillig BRT Plus CNG bus. I can't wait to visit so I could take a ride on them to experience the Gillig life.
Not bad for 2022 at all! I wonder why they made the bus 11’11 almost 12 feet. Then I’m glad it’s a gas and not electric. I prefer gas and it really gives the real bus vibes versus the Nova buses.
Cincinnati Ohio also ordered new Gillig Advantage Low Floors for SORTA 2021 and TANK is mostly Gillig diesels and hybrids with BRTs.
I'm from Detroit and I love our buses down there especially since we got more New Flyer Xclesior XD40s and Gillig Advantage and Proterras for DDOT and SMART buses have Gilligs and New Flyer Xclesior 60 foot XD60s.
Looks exactly like our York Region Transit buses (north of Toronto, Canada), right down to the dashcam!
Sharp bus!
I’d miss the larger steering wheel..your driving something big, the wheel should reflect that.
Right! Especially on the new flyers.
I felt the same way at first..but my shoulders can’t deny how effortless it is to turn the bus now. 😃
@@BusDriverLife
Good to know.
I agree a big steering reminds you that you are driving something big and slows you down
We got some new 2022 gillig brt hybrid electric buses with the Cummins B6.7 for IndyGo here in indianapolis Indiana
I like the 2200s, I saw most of them lot in Watt, and hopefully, I see them soon in Downtown Sac next year
Hey 👋, greetings from Chile 🇨🇱 , I really appreciate your videos!! I’m a bus driver too!
Thank you fellow bus driver!!
Nice those look better
Nice new bus video. Up here in Central Ohio we just order more 2022 New Flyer Industries XN40s for COTA. I love our Gillig diesels and CNGs.
The only thing that bus is missing is power outlets or USB ports. Seems that most transit agencies are putting USB ports in their buses now.
The bus looks nice! Our transit comp got a few new city busses. The are a pain to drive tho, and the seats they are made of mostly plastic.
And nice video!
Are bus drivers in the US permitted to open the engine compartment. In Ireland I was told it is prohibited for drivers to open the engine cover as this was only for maintenance.
bus drivers here can open the engine up when checking to see if we have issues.
It’s part of our pre-trip inspection.
Oh really we do that here but don't open the engine compartment as that's considered for maintenance only it's usually called the walk around check or the first use check. But it's just a basic visual check as drivers are not mechanics
@@stephenhyland4256 yeah. for us we just check the fluids and fuck off. ive seen other companies that require more indepth looks. idk what its like in sacremento.
Williamsport, Pennsylvania has all gillig brt plus buses with river valley transit authority
Man I didn't realize that your radio to call control center and Clever Device are next to you in the operators area. Here at SEPTA the radio is behind us and the Clever Device and or Smart MDT ( because some buses have both🤷🏽♂️) is above us. But otherwise nice bus.
Just like the Interior in the NewFlyer SEPTA and MTA companies use.
Nice! That new genfare is sweet and I’m jealous of your radio setup. We have phone handsets that are impossible to reach as they’re mounted way behind you.
I hope it still had that new bus smell. Hopefully, the new bus will make driving easier for you. Thanks.
I love it..I start orientation for the city of Columbia as a full-time city bus driver. I'm ready and excited to begin my new career. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Nice!! Congratulations to you!!
@@BusDriverLife I appreciate it
Gillig and New Flyer are the brands missing from Bus Simulator 21 since it is based in SF Bay Area and transit agencies in that area have both brands in real life
Can you do a break inspection on that new bus?
Happy Thanksgiving from Milwaukee.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Is that box behind the wheel well the new driver’s compartment or for the emergency triangles?
Wish SacRT used Clipper, it would make things easier traveling between Sac and the Bay Area.
Those card readers are great. In Seattle area we have a new farecard system from, the same vendor. We should be able to load cards on our phones next year. Is that something your passengers will be able to do as well or maybe they already can?
Those clever devices are cool. We use something similar here it's helpful for drivers but they still gotta check before each trip!
We have a phone system as well but it needs to be improved..too many fakes and screen recordings.
New buses are always beautiful! Now when you add the passengers, then comes the graffiti.
I love the Stop Request buttons instead of cords. Cords are very bend and can be pull off when a passenger pulls too hard..
Our Novas up here in Ann Arbor have the stop request button. Lansing, MI Novas have that also.
nice bus do you have nova bus lfs ? because over here in trois riveres we only have nova bus lfs and they dont do well in snow ! be safe on the road now !
I’ve never driven or even been on a nova bus unfortunately. Hopefully that will change soon. Thanks for watching!
Nice rig!
U guys need to get some European busses like VDL Citea or ebusco 3.0
Looks like a Bus from the year 2000.
Some of the college students drive our University of Michigan buses.
The seats look uncomfortable lol 😂
The old Gilligs are dependable
Wow...looks so different to U.K. buses.
Its great to see the comparison Keywan...🇺🇸🚍...👀🚍🇬🇧
Running on natural gas as well.
Do you have any electric only buses like we have in England?
Yes we do have battery electric buses. We have about 10 in our fleet now..more on the way soon.
You know we have the gillig brt in NASSAU INTER COUNTY EXPRESS AKA MTA LONG ISLAND BUS
Oh yeah, just a typical Gillig, but nicer and powered by CNG. I wish some of our buses have CNG and hybrids.
It's like Transdev order for NICEBUS in Nassau County, Long Island, NY. Not enough aisle space.
I have already had a ride in this bus
It would be cool if Gillig made artics.
What engine and transmission are in this bus?
This bus looks awesome 👍
Love the bike racks on the front. A bus ride + a bike can get you most places in a city. Not a fan of it ruining on natural gas, you’d think the supply chain issues since COVID and all that would inspire a shift away from fossil fuels.
Most transit systems are shifting toward battery electric buses. We have about 10 battery electric buses now. Infrastructure needs to be improved first..so CNG for now.
I liked driving the new buses because of them being new with that new bus smells. The only issue is NOT ONE SCRATCH ANYWHERE when brand new. THAT FIRST DENT SCRATCH May come back to haunt.
I miss the days of the no talking buses no camera buses no GPS buses no clever device no computer screens used to be such a nice quiet job
Do buses in the US accept contactless and phone payment?
Yes…there are a lot of systems that do. Some do not.
depends on which transit system youre in tbh. where im at in NYC we take contactless payment, card, phone, and metrocards
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
@@BusDriverLife Thank you! Keep the videos up! Enjoyable to watch!
How many wheelchairs can it accommodate?
2
In the future gillig will have updated signs
I like the buss but I'd miss the seats as they are now and sit on a plastic one that's not right travel in comfort not on humps and bumps looks less not more and also putting chairs up for wheel chairs now
Your bus has two disabled bay for disabled passengers. How many disabled passengers do you get in a day? I'm lucky to get one or two maybe a year. Very rare and that's a new bus but it looks old. No modern technology
More computers more sensors more problems
I thought that was a good idea for the back doors that a passenger can open but when I saw it swing open are you not frightened of bashing somebody with the door. And it does look really small. Don't you have sliding doors. And doors open inwards? And that engine looks like nobody cleans it. Lol
Ew electric steering 🤦🏽♂️
Randomly on RUclips and seen our brt max bus on here but great video fellow driver
