Not only to social media also from other many addictions to become powerful individual as unique like a enlightened new born baby taking stress free routes 🌐
I think the style of content you consume is also a factor... Cutting out shorts/reels/tiktoks and watching more longform media can change your outlook. A 30 minute youtube video is a lot better for your behaviour than 100+ 4 second clips
Thank you so much for introducing me to Unhooked in another of your videos! To add my own unsolicited ideas - I've found that making a habit of ending every video by closing my laptop or tablet (don't own a smartphone) and taking 10 deep breaths after every video I watched allows me to check in to how I'm feeling, what I learned and allows a pause before considering what else I want to watch. Writing 3 things learned for each video in a RUclips notebook really helps with this, too. Also, my friend has found a lot of success in 5:2 days in the week. For 5 days, he avoids all content and even screens as much as possible, then allows it all in for 2 days each week. He says it keeps him sane, YMMV. Thanks for the video!
I lost hope on dating because i been hopping on online dating 2008-2016 after 2017 just gave up fack it and kept enjoying solo travelling till today hahahaha
I feel this. I don't use social media in the traditional sense (Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook) but my weakness is RUclips. I try to tell myself I'm only allowed to watch the channels I'm subscribed to (fluctuates between 6 and 10) but I always end up thinking of something else to watch and I go down the rabbit hole. Haven't found any long term solutions yet :(
dude this is so me. I'm a stay at home mom. I do have Instagram and FB. I use FB purely for marketplace and Instagram has a lot of health and parenting accounts I follow. I never post anything. BUT I'm thoroughly addicted to RUclips. I can stay up for hours after my kids go to bed just watching anything and everything
@@hllymchll Yeah RUclips is hard! I will say that since I commented last, I've found some things that I love doing that are not RUclips and I've substituted much of my time on RUclips with those things. So maybe you could do something similar?
Your point about Netflix and Live TV is something I have noticed as of late. Ever since I started getting back into DVD collection, I've noticed consuming TV shows individually rather than the assembly line of "content" produced by Netflix makes the viewing experience much better for me personally.
I Have no social media at all, i remember once I went back on Facebook for a week or something and felt so stressed. Couldn’t stopped myself from scrolling and thinking about what’s interesting is there that I don’t know about. I deleted it again. Felt peace again. Also I have to tell that deleting social media was a blessing from God it happened during my conversion. I went back to Catholic Church who I left for years. I discovered Jesus again. And I’m completely in love with Him right now. My life has changed over 360 degrees. My values changed. My desires changed. I think social media can be helpful but they are soooo addictive and they steal our time, specially time for God. To pray. We were not created to spend hour and hours on on our phones but rather with God and the one He gave ous. Also my relationship with my family approved. All Glory to the God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God saved my life and I’m forever grateful for His mercy.
Hi there! im trying to go on a similar journey as yours. I have a question, how do you keep up with news? as in like politics or economics, i happen to be very intrested in that kind of content and i always get that info from instagram or even twitter. Greetings from Argentina!
@@EllaCharlotteJones 95% of social media is a waste of time but RUclips is totally different..as long as you do not watch cat videos, secular music or mrbeast youtube is really really useful. just telling you from my experince here on this platform
@@EllaCharlotteJonesFacebook is my last social ever hahahaha though i enjoy the RUclips version of TikTok (just need 2 filter them) but still fck TikTok hohohoho
To be honest I don’t really take that outlook on life! There are many opportunities for learning, practising hobbies or socialising 👌 turns out there was life before social media
Haha nice. I wont say i fully detoxing socials but rather i finally dropped down 80% real life 20% socials daily. That means my phone from 100% i only used up 25% for the day. No calls and shit. That means my full battery can last almost 4 days. 3.8 days 2 be exact. Hahahaha.
Have you ever spent time away from social media? Do you relate to any of my experiences?
thankyou for so honest you always feels like a big sister to me 😊

I also quit for a month and experienced exactly the same.
Missing the days when we were calling friends!
Thanks for sharing 🙏

Perhaps you could try the content schedule like me! I’m limiting myself to an hour a day
I'm definitely going to try that!@@EllaCharlotteJones

I have a news magazine subscription which comes to my door every week! Or the radio is good
For scrolling, you could get a figet toy that has that feature on it. Or rolling a ball across the table or something similar.
That’s a great idea!
Amazing and very relatable. I wish I could meet a partner who could embrace minimalism and an analog lifestyle. Where did you move to?
I’m in the UK!
to be honest i learned A LOT of things from RUclips, there is a LOT of viddeos that WILL benefit you unlike tiktok and instagram
Yes I completely agree, but I'm so aware of the time it takes up!

Hi there smart and attractive woman , we share the same values 😄
How do you deal with the boredom and the general tediousness of life?
Read a book or go for a run?..
