JC, I want to let you know - You are the first person/youtuber that I know to talk about retire cheap in Thailand 12 years ago. AND REMEMBER THERE ALWAYS AN OPTION :)
Paul doesn't have to apologize for his observations. In many areas, America is not enforcing its own laws. It panders to the worst elements of society instead of looking out for the citizens who abide by the laws. One point: New York City is not "the best" America has to offer, but I understand why many people fall for the hype. It does not matter how many art museums a city has if your grandmother can be pushed into traffic simply because she's Asian, and thieves get away with destroying stores and nothing is done about it, so stores just have to close.
I Found You! I was wondering what happened. I began to wonder if you dropped off the face of the earth. I know the farm videos weren't doing to good, but I always found them interesting. I liked your Vietnam videos. I actually lived in Vietnam for a year. I had been to Da Lat and Da Nang, but I loved Nha Trang, even though I worked in Saigon. I'm tired of all the BS in the US and have my house up for sale and hope to be living in Thailand within the next 4 months. I spent time in Prachuap Khiri Khan the last time I was in Thailand, but I'll probably be living in Hua Hin.
At 28:18...Paul misspoke when he said he was of "Korean nationality". He meant to say that he was of Korean ethnicity. Paul was born in the US which makes his nationality, American.
@@hannuharju-seppanen3438 - Paul specifically said "Korean nationality" which means he is a Korean citizen. Unless he has applied for Korean citizenship through his parents, his country of citizenship is the USA. Unfortunately, many Americans don't know the difference between nationality and ethnicity.
Thailand has it all, kind people, honest people, low crime, perfect weather, good food, fresh produce and fruit, affordable and livable! Few bigots and guns.
thanks for the video i have been staying in pattaya for a month and will be here another. It is a little busy. i have been a subscriber for good while now. I love the beach and i see where you are filming seems pleasant. where is that?
Long time subscriber, in fact I think I subscribed back before I moved to Thailand (Chiang Mai) in 2013. Awesome people, place, but I couldn't take the HEAT. I lasted 3 years, but couldn't acclimate 😢. Yet, I still think about going back!
@@Weekbrownies I was in Chiang Mai. If there had been a way to live up on the mountain that was very near, Doi Suthep, it was definitely cooler up there.
It's not hard once you have a long-term visa. There are some agents in the big cities that offer to open one with you for a fee (a portion of that fee goes to the branch manager under the table).
After 20 years in nyc i had enough of exhorbitant rents and $300 for a prescription. If you're young and nyc is all new you might perceive it as worth the cost. If you're working for your money nyc felt like a complete rip off after 20 years. Don't get me started about taxes. I paid more than anyone i know. Taxes are higher in europe but the government provides the essentials. In america you get nothing....
Can’t say I’d never go back. If you tune out the media nonsense you’d really not notice much difference there. I was just there for a month and except for prices being a bit higher I didn’t notice any real difference. My properties there are still doing great and I think people, especially on RUclips, blow the problems way out of proportion. But I do love Thailand. Moved here for my wife of 15 years so she could spend time near her family. Been here 2 years now. If we stay it’ll be because of what Thailand offers and not because of what the U.S. doesn’t. I can live quite well in either place.
Immigration might have other thoughts. Unless one gets Permanent Residency or even Citizenship “never going back” is not guaranteed. Been in Thailand for 7 years and nothing is guaranteed.
@mikeparker6322 - the only change I see in terms of immigration is Thailand's crackdown on border runs. Foreigners who avoid getting a long-term visa by exiting and re-entering Thailand to get another 30 days or more on their passports. These border runners are seen as undesirable visitors to Thailand who try to circumvent the system in order to stay long-term.
I think you are smart and obviously went to Thailand at a good age. Plus you are economically successful. I wish I could have done that. The video is too long. Don't have time to spend 50 minutes watching you guys. I would give anything to live in Thailand. Too bad I got too old.
Yes. They are frequently caught on CCTV these days randomly punching women in the face. That's America now! Rage and hate and a lack of leadership for decades. And it is filthy AF.
If you live in the big city yes you will have crimes but if you live out the country you have less crimes in new york city it suck I went to new york city it very very suck live in thailand in big city it have crimes too that he make the wrong choice to go live new york city it it shit hole

Was a wonderful interview guys, thanks for having me!

When I moved here in 2017 there was no way I was going back to the UK. Seems I made the right decision. This is my home, my country, where I belong.
Congratulations guys, wish you all the success in the world.🙏❤️
I spent 7 months in Thailand. I have never experienced more happiness or joy in my life. I hurt to return to the U.S.

NYC is a lawless ghetto fabulous city. Only fools buy the hype.
Any RCJC videos coning? Have not heard from you in a long time.
Paul seems like a nice guy, I wish him success, humble guy, very likeable.

But what he meant was that his bloodline is Korea so he is not American only on paper

In a previous video, he said Cha-am.
Hua Hin offers everything Pattaya does , though in a cleaner, prettier environment.
Same decision for me too, i come from Germany and love it here ❤
Well said John
Consumerism is a personal choice - but I agree with most of the rest that he says...
Live wherever u like. It’s freedom.😊
excellent and important video, we are in Canada, and are retired early, n o need to stay here in Canada, selling our home and moving to Hua Hin
Keep in touch and let us know if we can be of help. It's a good time to be leaving Canada.

Northern Thailand is cooler, mountain cities Chiang rai, Chiang mai..

JC we met a couple weeks ago in Cha Am. I live in Cha Am full time since retiring. Is there an email where I can contact you?
Perfect name ride the wave smart
JC, you need a small microphone
Makes sense
Santa Barbara was really nice, but you need a 10x income raise🤑
I'm a Ventura/Carpinteria guy and couldn't agree more...one of many reasons why I left 25 years ago😀
you going make more videos?
How can people without a retirement visa under 50 "move" to thailand?
Education visa
He explained that in the video 😂
I just got to that part, I wonder how long he can do that@@InnerLightDimension

If you're leaving the USA to get away from Americans, maybe Thailand not the best destination? Appears to be full of them there....
Certainly some sort of health issue. JC never believed in any kind of exercise or health maintenance.

Old man wait until your money is gone. Do you really think that your young partner will stick around when your health declines.
Retirement funds expire on the date of death. We can hire nurses to take care of us when we are sick.😀😁
