- Hey Guys,
I'm back again with another Korrasami video. Look what these two have done to me, I never used to make shipper videos! Haha. Because I decided to make this vid so short, I tried to only use clips from Book 3 and 4 (and I almost succeeded) since that is when the ship started to set sail in canon.
And thank you, Bryke, for all of those clips of Korra writing and reading letters, that was very helpful for this song. :-)

On my rewatch of Korra, I've been trying really hard to see the Korrasami signs. On first watch, it caught me by surprise. I had seen conflicting arguments of whether or not that's because the relationship couldn't be developed as much as it normally would be due to the studio being a little strict, or if it's just because I didn't consider that they could be a couple so I failed to notice the signs. So far, on my rewatch, I have yet to see very many Korrasami flags, though I'm only half way through season 3.
On watching this video, I feel a lot more confident that Korrasami had good setup and I just missed it because I was too focused on how dumb Mako is. I'm pretty sure that's mostly thanks to your, as always, superb editing skills.
Long story short, your video makes a relationship held back by a studio look well developed and thorough.
One question: Why don't I ever see you winning contests at any of the conventions I attend? I usually boycott the AMV competitions but if I knew you would be featured, I would break that rule.
Hey, thank you so much for this lovely comment, I'm sorry I'm so slow responding. As much as I love Korrasami, I think you do have to be looking for it to see the development before the finale. It is there, though, I think especially at the end of Season 3 and in Season 4. As for the conventions, I've never been. I wanted to when the show was on and the creators and cast were attending and showing trailers for the new seasons, but it just never worked out. I don't know how to enter the contests and I haven't made a new one in a while now.
I like that Korrasami's making you make more shipper videos. I think you're great at making AMVs with slower love songs. The clips you used really show how well this song fits them. :)

Funny story, I was listening to songs by ladies for ladies, looking for a song for them, when I found this one. I was thinking it fit pretty well when that, "planes and trains and cars," line came up and it MADE MY DAY. I love it when I find a song that fits this well, and it's a beautiful song, which is a plus. :)
this is so beautiful :') honestly Korrasami being canon helped me to come out myself nearly 3 years ago and for that I'm so grateful to Mike & Bryan for the wonderful representation. keep up the great work and giving us the feels :)

I really liked your videos back then when I first came to RUclips, but this one is easily your best work. The cover you choose fits the mood, the narrative flows and you did a good job editing all of those episodes together. It's just beautiful!

Really heartfelt fanvid, very sweet choice of music and very well edited with many of their most compelling moments. For a long time LOK fans have been creating fanart and fanvids showing so much of this narrative of Korra and Asami developing feelings for one another. A lot of LOK fans seemed to expect and very much want this romance to come about, from as early as the first season, with fans from all over the world creating vids and fanart of it, presenting this relationship that has finally been confirmed at the end of the fourth season. I may be wrong here, but I think that Asami and Korra had never been attracted to other women but over time they came to realize that they saw the qualities they need in a partner in each other. So the emotional pull was there but they had to reconcile how they would pursue any physical affection, which is why it took four seasons for them to build up to the point where they would be able to do that. Once again, wonderful vid, shows these characters were important to you. Hope you get a lot of positive comments.
The story of Korrasami is a funny one. Season 1 it was a joke-- there was fanart, ect, but it was mostly a bit of a crack ship, a way that people expressed their hatred of the Korra-Mako-Asami love triangle, saying that Korra and Asami should just get together and ditch him. And then Season 2 happened and people got a bit more serious as Mako proved to be a pretty shitty boyfriend for Korra and the love triangle continued. And honestly, in season 2, they had almost no interactions with one another. And then in Season 3, Bryke started actually building a friendship between Korra and Asami properly, finally, and the ship really stopped being a crack ship. I remember personally getting to the end of season 3 and the hand-holding, hair-pinning scene happened and ended and I just went, "Shit, I ship Korrasami now", but I know people were picking out every Korra and Asami scene by then and tagging it as Korrasami. By season 4, that was pretty much the norm in the fandom, it was everywhere. Meanwhile, according to Bryke's posts on the subject, they were suddenly beginning to ship it naturally, too, despite never intending it to happen from the start. And then the finale happened and Bryke revealed that Korra and Asami are bisexual in the aforementioned post. So yeah, there we go. Pretty much the Korrasami story, from Crack Ship to Canon.
