I think I would have reverse seared this steak so it cooked a little more even.

Yes. That’s raw. Reverse sear or souse vide.

Love the sear and crust! A little rare for me, but when making steaks for a group I only argue with "well done".
Tom - You must be spending a fortune flying back and forth to the southern command every day! 😉

Nice looking steak. Aldi has some good stuff like grass fed beef at a great price.

Impressive grill everytime you feature it. In the words of Michelin Star Chef Gordon Ramsey, "it's RAW...stone cold Raw!" Just kidding around Tom. We love your videos.

Aldi steak is pretty good. I would eat one any day of the week. But compared to most of the other stuff sold at Aldi, I don't really find their steaks to be that good of a deal price wise. It's just an ok steak for an ok price. I usually get my steaks at sam's club because I've found their steaks to be just as good, and maybe a little bit better than aldi for a cheaper price per pound. Sam's club meat is a really good deal for the quality you get imo. They usually sell them in 4 packs though and I don't need 4 steaks since it's usually just me and my wife eating them. But I just cook 2 and then freeze the other 2. I don't notice any lost taste when I make the frozen ones later on because they won't stay frozen long. Maybe a couple weeks to a month at the most since we eat steak at least twice a month.
What I do like about Aldi steaks though is the vacuum seal packaging. Normal steaks with plastic wrap and styrofoam are only good in the fridge for a few days then you gotta cook or freeze them. Aldi steaks usually have a use or freeze by date that is about almost a month out from the time you buy it. So it is nice sometimes to just pick up a steak or two if you don't know exactly when you are going to cook it and still be able to keep it in the refrigerator for a pretty long while.

Thanks Tom! I figured so but couldn't be sure with the way you tend to modify your grills. It looks cool.

Why are you buying Aldi meat? You live in Wisconsin, one the top five best states for beef. Aldi beef is at least 20% water.
