Fun fact, if you give an opponent your land that just entered the battlefield with zedruu the greathearted before the trigger resolves, they take the two damage instead of you.

Great play. I did this same play over 20+ years ago going sol ring, Ankh in a four player game. The best is when you Armageddon later with mana elf's in play
Didn’t know this card existed but I have a spike in my play group that plays lands deck that’s main gameplan is “stax and tax to death with my ramp” so thanks for the new auto include in every deck.
Back in the day, in a very early tournament, before DIC or Mana ranking, before Elder Dragon Legend, the game type that became commander, my opening play was . . . I drop a swamp. Tap for 1 Black. Cast Dark Ritual, use one of that Black to cast a second Dark Ritual having 5 Black mana floating. Cast Black Vice, cast Black Vice, Cast Black Vice, cast Ankh of Mishra. Pass turn.
To add injury to insult, the Professor plays the unique custom, just for him, Mox IWin cards. It a zero cost artifact when the Professor, and only the Professor taps it, he wins the game instantly.
So basically that card is the magic equivalent of maxx c in yugioh. You either pass turn or play into it and give yourself a disadvantage by doing so 😂
Not quite, Ankh is permanent, this is more like Chain Energy where every time a card is played or set from the hand you take damage. Since Ankh of Mishra is continuous effect to deal damage when lands are played.
A better comparison would probably be rhystic study as you draw a card for every spell they cast, which is magic speak for every time you play a card that isn't a land.
Sometimes, Commander is about not making yourself a target so the other players don't gang up on you. Usually, the player who imposes taxes (which I call any card that forces players to pay extra for something, though that definition is a bit vague) will be an easy first target.
Oh, Ankh. Takes me back to running 4 in Extended and joining a 20-player Battle Royale FFA. Dropping a second Ankh on turn 2, the immediate regret and despair of the other players was glorious. I did not make it to turn 3. lol
It's not damage per-say but I was at a locals tournament and opened with all 4 copies of my Archive Trap in hand after allowing my opponent to shuffle and cut my deck.... And he popped a fetch land. Seeing his face when I told him to mill 52 was priceless

Mentally or in the game, oh boy, you can crush people's souls, their will to live, their hopes and dreams... I mean, at least that's better than playing against the professor.

Yeah. When i got back into yugioh duel links there were so many new decks that are capable of winning you the game by turn 5. Once it was sort of a fair game but now it's not even fun since there's barely a struggle to win if you got the right deck.
I recommend either Lightsworn Blue-Eyes or Timelords. Lightsworn Blue-Eyes is better as long as you have a decent Extra Deck with Fortune Lady Every, Micheal Archlightsworn, and Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon (I think). Run it with the Kiaba from whatever the future world is with the extra Blue-Eyes fushion monsters in the extra deck. It slaps pretty hard for cheap.
I recently got into mtg, been playing mtg arena cause playing the physical card game isn't my cup of tea anymore after the dreadful yeara of yugioh lol But i made a fun commander deck with mythweaver poq as the commander, that ankh of mishra would kill me in a couple of turns. I felt a sudden surge of despair when i read that effect lol
I don’t run a single fetch land in a single commander deck I own. Not for this case but I don’t really want to spend 20 minutes of every game shuffling my deck every game. Or shuffle every turn of play for a two hour game.
Things bronze players say...? Efficiency is the key to the game, and part of efficiency in magic is understanding that your life is a resource, so losing a life to crack a fetch land is no biggie. When your deck runs efficiently, games are shorter. When games are shorter, no one cares how many times you had to shuffle, so long as you aren't shuffling too many times per need to do it. Shuffle once or twice and send it to be cut. No big deal. And if your playgroup-mates complain that you had to shuffle again, they're probably just sore losers that don't understand the game very well yet. So you can now teach them what you learned. Anyway, it was nice of you to tell us why you don't like to win games.
You can take more; turn 1, swamp, dark ritual, then play wall of blood, pay 20 life and die😂. ( or You can also play Chrome mox, pay 18 life to the wall and fling then shock)

The damage counter is wrong, fetch lands require loss of life which is not damage. Damage causes loss of life but loss of life is not damage. Only 4 damage was dealt, a total of 5 life lost.
