Limgrave is fairly large, it also contains weeping peninsula, plus we are unsure if Miyazaki is also including Nokron/Siofra river in that calculation. If he is, it could be insanely large, especially considering the DLC is supposedly 60GB worth of content, compared to the ~48GB base game.

The 60g thing is what it shows for every games dlc- it always says the same G requirement for the base game. The dlc isnt gonna be 60g, the misinformation needs to stop spreading because its creating insane expectations. In CoD for example, if the base game is 100G, it will say 100G requirement for the DLCS.@@splatzec
One thing I haven't seen a lot of channels consider for the dlc is a Nokron/Nokstella element where we enter some depth by whatever means and it unlocks a whole new area "under" the main map. 🤔 I can't wait!! 😁🤘

Crackpot: I think the Purple-ish/St.Trina-esque locations of the trailer is actually the entire second half of the expansion after defeating Messmer… OR it’s an entirely optional cave system (think Ainsel River, but a little larger) that will hold some unique sleep-related bosses and enemies, maybe including St. Trina too (P.S. - Yes, I am a believer that Miquella is NOT St. Trina, but is somehow still related)

It's not certain, it's not hard truth that messmer will be the hardest enemy. He will be before the final boss or about half to 2/3rds through the dlc

At the end of the DLC we will have a new confrontation with Messmer but in his ultimate dragon form, like the projection of Morgott as Margit in the base game. And Messmer is undoubtedly the most powerful enemy in the DLC and even the most powerful in all of Elden Ring if that's it. He has a flame that can destroy everything in its path, and it is surely Messmer who is behind the massacre of the giants on the snowy peak in the earth.
As a ‘Blackstone-civilisation’ enjoyer, I am particularly giddy about exploring the North-West section of the Map. This is where the Lush-Green forest-y area is, and it seems to house my personal guilty pleasure Lore of the base game: the BlackStone civilisation structures. The blackstone structures in the basegame are few and far between… with some showing up at Radahns arena, Ruin-strewn precipice, Lower-limgrave, etc. where the singing crucible bats are mourning their lost homes. And while I don’t expect any answers to them, im incredibly excited at the idea of being able to connect more dots. Other than that, I am basically excited for everything lol cannot wait
7:16 - the single biggest indication that you are to the right of the tree in that shot is the Veil itself, it's leading back to the left to go up over the tree, meaning you are in fact, to the right of it and around the cathedral area's general direction The only way this would be wrong is if you can be somehow behind the tree a far far distance, but I'm thinking this tree also sits on the edge of some cliff-face (like the Erdtree), could most definitely be wrong tho lol

What I find also super interesting and cant wait to explore is what lies behind the legacy dungeon in the center. Cause apart from the massive inverted arch you can see walls around the dark erdtree similar to Leyndell if you pause and look closely. I think we all expect the expansion to be big, but it will once again exceed our already high expectations. Just like the base game did.
We never saw anything north of the Shadow Erdtee. While it's possible FromSoftware is hiding it from us, as they are surely hiding other stuff about the DLC, it's more likely that the Shadow Erdtee and the nearby legacy dungeon are on the northern edge of the Land of Shadow.

When I think of the Erdtree’s origins, I think of being able to go beneath and explore the story of the origins of the Erdtree through its roots in the land of shadow. Perhaps that is the secret final area? Beneath the shadow tree? After all there IS a shadow tree, but it’s being choked by some other (unknowable) force. Exploring the roots could be the final area to find out what it is
@@HeevaEgo That's a great point. I suspect that a Deeproot Depth's like area such as you described would probably be Crucible themed, possibly involving the Omen people with the candle. It's very likely that one of the two entertwined trees is the Great Tree. The reveal trailer already has a lot of crucible imagery, and the base game implies that the Greattree and the Erdtee were connected at one point. There's probably some crucible themed remembrance boss we haven't seen yet.
the dlc throne lady has a collar/cowl spikey thing that is the same as rykards crown in taniths painting or takers cameo. the long flat pronged things, like a palm fan.
Every single shot of these trailers, every scene in the game, EVERYTHING is just gorgeous! The story is super cool and mysterious and all that, but all I wanna do is explore this new land. It is so beautiful and looks to have a wide variety of locals/biomes. Hype.
2:36 the stone armour npc is not in the field area they are outside the gate of the legacy dungeon, the trees, the gate and the spiral column match up to the legacy dungeon at 3:46.
Honestly I'm really digging how much denser the DLC is compared to the base game. So many different structures and buildings. It's almost like a fusion of DS3 and Elden Ring. According to the Miyazaki interview, they also introduce a new dungeon size that's between legacy dungeon and the smaller ones like Morne or the Shaded Castle.
I wonder if there are gonna be a new boss weapon with lightning damage preferably a greatsword since I don’t remember if we even have any in the main game and I’m not a fan of using thrusting weapons like the bolt and cragblade
Fromsoft is king of making good dlc and also good games. Fromsoft is the best gaming company ever. I will always support Fromsoft and Miyazakis vision in gaming until I’m dead.
I'm pretty sure the armor will be great, even if its stats aren't the best, but I don't have much hope for the crossbow, considering what the did with Gael's auto crossbow. I hope to be wrong, though.
@@warcoder yeah even if it's boof af I WILL force it to work its too cool and it looks like he was using perfumer bolts which pack a punch combine that with arrows sting and ritual sword and just generally being good with a crossbow and it might be pretty good. 7:26 - 7:28 you can just barely make out the veil from the erdtree in the background of the shot slightly covering the left side of the moon and sweeping to the upper left. either that's the veil or the artwork is strangely blurred right there, but i can clearly see sweeping veil-like lines when i have the video paused at that time. i also think that the red dancer with the dual curved swords has something to do with Malenia or maybe her blind teacher that taught her how to use the sword. the lore references a 'blue dancer' (i know this one is red) and something about this scene just resonates with that for me, i think maybe the dex talisman says something about it?
If you take a look at the Elden Ring Map you can see there are two ships to top left in the ocean I think the Red Dancer 6:25 area with the two shipwreck is where that is taken place. Why do I think it's also in that area is because if you take a look at 4:54 at that Legacy Dungeon Castle you can see a misty blue area to the bottom left.
Ziostorm - I’m not sure anybody’s made this connection yet - but I have to tell you, that’s not wheat in that field. Those are REEDS, as in The Land of Reeds: the same place where the Bloody Fingers who serve Luminary Mohg originate from. A land locked in a bloody civil war “outside” the Lands Between. Considering we see new martial arts in the trailer, the Land of Reeds could very well be a part of the Land of Shadow. It’s likewise possible that Eochaid (the homeland of the Bell Bearing Hunters) , Ravenmount (the supposed origin of the assassins of the same name) and even the Badlands of Godfrey’s fame could all be located in the Land of Shadow. Final thing here, considering the likelihood this is the Land of Reeds: in Mohg’s boss room, he drips from Miquella’s corpse as a pool of blood from which he emerges in physical form, telling “Dearest Miquella” that he’ll have to “abide without him for a while.” I can’t help but think the place he’s coming from is the Land of Shadow/Land of Reeds. This of course has major implications on a number of levels. 1) The actual nature of the relationship between Miquella and Mohg. They’re half brothers, but could be legitimately in love despite Miquella’s young countenance, as he’s presumably rather old enough to be matured psychosocially as a man. But who knows? Maybe he’s just using Mohg too. 2) I find it interesting that the only other usage of the suffix -wyn in the entire game besides Godwyn is Mohgwyn, as in Mohgwyn Palace/Mohgwyn Dynasty. A dynasty specifically refers to a powerful family, and in this case, I’d argue one made up of Mohg, the Lord of Blood and Godwyn, the Prince of Death. Both were shunted aside and used by their mother Marika in her plot to seal away Destined Death and keep in place the Golden Order. They both also have strong ties to Miquella, who is yet another half-brother to them both. This unholy alliance could in fact be the other side shrouded in mystery in this war against the Erdtree; perhaps the same “bloody civil war” that plagues the Land of Reeds. In this case, it may well be that Messmer (considering he too may be a child of Marika, and just as possible a twin sibling to Melina) represents Queen Marika’s interest in this war within the Land of Shadow - making his forces those who fight for the Golden Order - he even says in the trailer “those shunned by the Grace of Gold shall all meet death in the embrace of Messmer’s flame.” Further on the topic of the Mohgwyn Dynasty including Godwyn, we see bands of knights alongside the Wickerman, clad in black and gold-accented armor (colors that match up to both Godwyn and Death Blight to a T) which could be an indication of the lord they serve: Godwyn. There’s even more to consider, but I digress since this comment is already stupid long lol. Suffice it to say, the best and most plausible speculation for the Shadow of the Erdtree plot may be this: agents of Miquella beckon you to the Land of Shadow, previously known as the Land of Reeds before being cut off from the Lands Between by Marika’s great Baldachin of illusion covering it in the “missing” middle section of the map. Upon arriving there, you find things are complicated, as their is a war for the real Erdtree - which is much smaller than the grand illusionary Erdtree shown in Leyndell, and also being choked by what seems to be Godwyn’s Deathtree, spilling its blessings into a tower within a city that looks to be a dark mirror of Leyndell. This war, is a war between the forces of the Golden Order - led by way of Messmer - against the forces of the Mohgwyn Dynasty, which comprises the ultimate unholy trinity of Mohg, Godwyn, and their most fearsome empyrean, Miquella; all sons of the goddess Marika let’s not forget. Considering you obviously fight Messmer, it’s a safe bet you’re conscripted by Miquella to help in this war, and will be the lens through which we as players see and interact with the Shadow of the Erdtree. Whew! I needed to get that out because it was burning a hole in my head lol. Haven’t heard any creators tease this as a possibility yet, so I figured it needed to be thrown out into the aether. Dark souls 3 was my first from soft game ever and after beating it the first time which took me over 116 hours I played it again and again all the way to new game +4. I have 960 hours. It was safe to say that was my #1 one game of all time and I played everything. Now ER came out then that quickly became the number one and I beat it the first time in 150 hours then I played it a second time and stopped at the crumbling lands purposely then the third time I stopped at Lindell and then I played four more times throughout the years and never went past Lindell I did that purpose because I love the game so much. I never want to get old so technically I beat the final boss only once with total of 400hrs so That when the DLC come I'm in love all over again - so now I've been playing it all the way through like the first time and 60 hours in and it feels almost as good as day 1 I hope that the DLC is worth the wait and over 50 hours. I know it's just wishful thinking.
I really like how the expansion is a shadow realm type setting because it’s even more dark & twisted looking compared to the base game world! I’m so hyped to find the extremely difficult bosses hidden around the dlc….the ones they didn’t show us in the trailer! Messmer is most likely going to be the last or second to last main dlc boss who will still be fairly difficult but probably very fun to fight!
The lion boss in the trailer is just a celebration puppet, you can see at least 2-3 people under it's cloth, carrying the costume. It's element of ancient rituals connected to faith and beliefs predating Erdtree
Really hope this dlc is like the first map when you get the first map for Limgrave unlocked you think the map is very small when in reality it is gigantic in sise pls pls pls

I have an idea for the shadow of the erdtree boss: the fallen sentinel. An upgraded version of the tree sentinel, who carries a fiery sword that deals madness damage, and his horse is half dead.

Do you think when accessing the map screen will it be hidden from the main map screen and in order to see it you have to switch the view like when viewing Siofra, Nokron, and Uhl Palace? I want more competitive pvp stuff. Like forming a team and having team battles. Tournaments. My discord group implements this stuff but would be nice to see it in game.
The purple town kinda looks like it’s inside that castle on the hill with the top being destroyed cuz it has the same pillars and architecture with what looks like the wall we can see from the outside, to the right in the purple town.
Pretty sure the camera pans downward during the blue duel scene to keep both characters in frame. The down pan also begins a dynamic pull away from the characters to show more of the scene as well. Speaking of the scenery, you can't see anything over the horizon line in that shot anyway so I doubt they're purposefully editing out content in-camera there.
I hope they improve the engine optimization with the DLC. No matter the pc you have it will always drop frames right now in some areas and under certain circumstances.
One thing I can cobfirm is that u will access the dlc through mohgywn dynasty mauseleom. That miquella coocon thing was wah too cool to be not be a pathway.
We can be more particular about where things are relatively by where the moon is. If it is the same as base game, then it's in a specific direction in the sky. This may share some similarities of exactness also for direction.
That horse/rider combo - one thing I noticed outside of the missing head on the rider, is that his feet are missing too. Is it meant to emulate Radahn and Leonard? Another unanswered question lies with Selvulis telling us that the god-puppeting Amber Draught had already been the fate of a Demigod. Which one? Ranni knew immediately what it was and both Selvulis and Iji die in the puppet pose. Would a motive be like that of Sellen, to procure a suitable body in which to transfer a soul? I wonder if we will find out more about that. We have a few bodiless candidates now, all equally interesting.
i can't help but think this dlc is a spiritual sequel to bloodborne. no open world, just a bunch of interconnected legacy dungeons like BB which happens to be the size of limgrave.

The leech enemy scene shows the moon and some curved lines that seem to look like the 'curtain' in the sky hanging on the left side of the moon. Not sure if that helps at all. Otherwise love the more lore theories.💜 😎🍻😎

I like exploring outdoor natural and wild zones. The buried ships in blue ocean of flowers zone looks interesting and peaks my curiosity.

I'm pretty sure the armor will be great, even if its stats aren't the best, but I don't have much hope for the crossbow, considering what the did with Gael's auto crossbow. I hope to be wrong, though.
@@warcoder yeah even if it's boof af I WILL force it to work its too cool and it looks like he was using perfumer bolts which pack a punch combine that with arrows sting and ritual sword and just generally being good with a crossbow and it might be pretty good. I'm not one for using a bazillion buffs but I do like the talisman systems

7:26 - 7:28 you can just barely make out the veil from the erdtree in the background of the shot slightly covering the left side of the moon and sweeping to the upper left. either that's the veil or the artwork is strangely blurred right there, but i can clearly see sweeping veil-like lines when i have the video paused at that time.
i also think that the red dancer with the dual curved swords has something to do with Malenia or maybe her blind teacher that taught her how to use the sword. the lore references a 'blue dancer' (i know this one is red) and something about this scene just resonates with that for me, i think maybe the dex talisman says something about it?
If you take a look at the Elden Ring Map you can see there are two ships to top left in the ocean I think the Red Dancer 6:25 area with the two shipwreck is where that is taken place. Why do I think it's also in that area is because if you take a look at 4:54 at that Legacy Dungeon Castle you can see a misty blue area to the bottom left.
Ziostorm - I’m not sure anybody’s made this connection yet - but I have to tell you, that’s not wheat in that field. Those are REEDS, as in The Land of Reeds: the same place where the Bloody Fingers who serve Luminary Mohg originate from. A land locked in a bloody civil war “outside” the Lands Between. Considering we see new martial arts in the trailer, the Land of Reeds could very well be a part of the Land of Shadow. It’s likewise possible that Eochaid (the homeland of the Bell Bearing Hunters) , Ravenmount (the supposed origin of the assassins of the same name) and even the Badlands of Godfrey’s fame could all be located in the Land of Shadow. Final thing here, considering the likelihood this is the Land of Reeds: in Mohg’s boss room, he drips from Miquella’s corpse as a pool of blood from which he emerges in physical form, telling “Dearest Miquella” that he’ll have to “abide without him for a while.” I can’t help but think the place he’s coming from is the Land of Shadow/Land of Reeds. This of course has major implications on a number of levels. 1) The actual nature of the relationship between Miquella and Mohg. They’re half brothers, but could be legitimately in love despite Miquella’s young countenance, as he’s presumably rather old enough to be matured psychosocially as a man. But who knows? Maybe he’s just using Mohg too. 2) I find it interesting that the only other usage of the suffix -wyn in the entire game besides Godwyn is Mohgwyn, as in Mohgwyn Palace/Mohgwyn Dynasty. A dynasty specifically refers to a powerful family, and in this case, I’d argue one made up of Mohg, the Lord of Blood and Godwyn, the Prince of Death. Both were shunted aside and used by their mother Marika in her plot to seal away Destined Death and keep in place the Golden Order. They both also have strong ties to Miquella, who is yet another half-brother to them both. This unholy alliance could in fact be the other side shrouded in mystery in this war against the Erdtree; perhaps the same “bloody civil war” that plagues the Land of Reeds. In this case, it may well be that Messmer (considering he too may be a child of Marika, and just as possible a twin sibling to Melina) represents Queen Marika’s interest in this war within the Land of Shadow - making his forces those who fight for the Golden Order - he even says in the trailer “those shunned by the Grace of Gold shall all meet death in the embrace of Messmer’s flame.” Further on the topic of the Mohgwyn Dynasty including Godwyn, we see bands of knights alongside the Wickerman, clad in black and gold-accented armor (colors that match up to both Godwyn and Death Blight to a T) which could be an indication of the lord they serve: Godwyn. There’s even more to consider, but I digress since this comment is already stupid long lol. Suffice it to say, the best and most plausible speculation for the Shadow of the Erdtree plot may be this: agents of Miquella beckon you to the Land of Shadow, previously known as the Land of Reeds before being cut off from the Lands Between by Marika’s great Baldachin of illusion covering it in the “missing” middle section of the map. Upon arriving there, you find things are complicated, as their is a war for the real Erdtree - which is much smaller than the grand illusionary Erdtree shown in Leyndell, and also being choked by what seems to be Godwyn’s Deathtree, spilling its blessings into a tower within a city that looks to be a dark mirror of Leyndell. This war, is a war between the forces of the Golden Order - led by way of Messmer - against the forces of the Mohgwyn Dynasty, which comprises the ultimate unholy trinity of Mohg, Godwyn, and their most fearsome empyrean, Miquella; all sons of the goddess Marika let’s not forget. Considering you obviously fight Messmer, it’s a safe bet you’re conscripted by Miquella to help in this war, and will be the lens through which we as players see and interact with the Shadow of the Erdtree. Whew! I needed to get that out because it was burning a hole in my head lol. Haven’t heard any creators tease this as a possibility yet, so I figured it needed to be thrown out into the aether. Dark souls 3 was my first from soft game ever and after beating it the first time which took me over 116 hours I played it again and again all the way to new game +4. I have 960 hours. It was safe to say that was my #1 one game of all time and I played everything. Now ER came out then that quickly became the number one and I beat it the first time in 150 hours then I played it a second time and stopped at the crumbling lands purposely then the third time I stopped at Lindell and then I played four more times throughout the years and never went past Lindell I did that purpose because I love the game so much. I never want to get old so technically I beat the final boss only once with total of 400hrs so That when the DLC come I'm in love all over again - so now I've been playing it all the way through like the first time and 60 hours in and it feels almost as good as day 1 I hope that the DLC is worth the wait and over 50 hours. I know it's just wishful thinking.
I really like how the expansion is a shadow realm type setting because it’s even more dark & twisted looking compared to the base game world! I’m so hyped to find the extremely difficult bosses hidden around the dlc….the ones they didn’t show us in the trailer! Messmer is most likely going to be the last or second to last main dlc boss who will still be fairly difficult but probably very fun to fight!

I think that Lion is the partner of that main boss red hair. It's the same as Ranni and Blaidd, Malenia and Maliketh
The lion boss in the trailer is just a celebration puppet, you can see at least 2-3 people under it's cloth, carrying the costume. It's element of ancient rituals connected to faith and beliefs predating Erdtree

I have an idea for the shadow of the erdtree boss: the fallen sentinel. An upgraded version of the tree sentinel, who carries a fiery sword that deals madness damage, and his horse is half dead.

Do you think when accessing the map screen will it be hidden from the main map screen and in order to see it you have to switch the view like when viewing Siofra, Nokron, and Uhl Palace? The purple town kinda looks like it’s inside that castle on the hill with the top being destroyed cuz it has the same pillars and architecture with what looks like the wall we can see from the outside, to the right in the purple town.
The ghost town is the lion legacy dungeon the towers are the same.

Pretty sure the camera pans downward during the blue duel scene to keep both characters in frame. The down pan also begins a dynamic pull away from the characters to show more of the scene as well. Speaking of the scenery, you can't see anything over the horizon line in that shot anyway so I doubt they're purposefully editing out content in-camera there.
You can see the faint lines of the vail in the sky when the character is being Nom'd by the worm face.
Ya see that field? Well, we don't have to worry about what to call it anymore now that the artbook labeled it as.... a field.

I hope they improve the engine optimization with the DLC. No matter the pc you have it will always drop frames right now in some areas and under certain circumstances.
One thing I can cobfirm is that u will access the dlc through mohgywn dynasty mauseleom. That miquella coocon thing was wah too cool to be not be a pathway.
We can be more particular about where things are relatively by where the moon is. If it is the same as base game, then it's in a specific direction in the sky. This may share some similarities of exactness also for direction.

That horse/rider combo - one thing I noticed outside of the missing head on the rider, is that his feet are missing too. Is it meant to emulate Radahn and Leonard? Another unanswered question lies with Selvulis telling us that the god-puppeting Amber Draught had already been the fate of a Demigod. Which one? Ranni knew immediately what it was and both Selvulis and Iji die in the puppet pose. Would a motive be like that of Sellen, to procure a suitable body in which to transfer a soul? I wonder if we will find out more about that. We have a few bodiless candidates now, all equally interesting.
The horse/rider seems to based off the mythical Nuckelavee from Orcadian folklore.
i can't help but think this dlc is a spiritual sequel to bloodborne. no open world, just a bunch of interconnected legacy dungeons like BB which happens to be the size of limgrave.
