    I'm torn between the design of the facelifted W212 E63 and the pre-facelifted W213 AMG E63 (in a dark color so it hides the "black mustache" as I like to call it, in the bumper), as both are such beautiful sedans. But I do agree that from 2014 to 2020 or so that the interiors were a nice blend of analog buttons and switches with digital implementations.

    This model is their best looking e-class but this facelift wasn’t perfect. The pre-facelift had a more angular front and angular headlights but when they did the refresh, they softened up the front and changed the headlights but they left the rear to remain boxy and with the old taillight shape. It looks like two different cars joined together. They had just come with a new c-class and wanted to bring the e-class up to the new design language and so they just gave it the new c-class front and called it a day and for that, I always thought this model looked a bit odd because I could see a new front design language but also see the old design language on the rear. Still the best looking e-class though.

    This man is right, any MB with the 5.5L V8 is truly a masterpiece of a car. MB really perfected the 5.5L V8, for whatever reason, the engine is absolutely rock solid, super reliable, great power. The 6.3L is a BEAST of an engine but it ain't no masterpiece. While BMW perfected the inline 6 MB perfected the V8.

      The M157 is most certainly not super reliable. If it was Mercedes would not give owners an extended warranty on the engine and replace engines for free due to losing compression in the rear two cylinders.

    • @SM-1010
      @SM-1010 6 месяцев назад

      @@theday2learn Yes, I have had my w212 for nine years now. There is a reason why I haven't moved on despite the dealer offering upgrades. The W212 is, in my opinion, the perfect car. My spec is fully loaded (autopilot assist, 360 camera, real leather interior, adaptive headlights. etc...) so its special to me. Engine and transmission have given me no problems at all, just a misfire that got covered by warranty years ago. I would say tho, be careful of the electric stuff tacked on. As for me, since I have all the bells and whistles, it was more prone to failure (uncommon tho). Ex: My adaptive headlight function went out and was quite costly to fix and to add, my electrically powered steering wheel moved up and down but not in and out which was luckily covered by warranty.
      Overall the car is solid, rides like butter on the highway, it quiet and a great place to sit in. Mercedes needs to remember their excellency with the w212. Just be aware of the options you can get with the car because many specs are base. Like I mentioned above, the adaptive headlights are optional extra but they are a different design that really helps the car age well.
      Let me know if you have more questions.
      PS: I have added a carplay module to the OEM screen and it works perfect.

    • @adampavella1225
      @adampavella1225 11 месяцев назад +3

      I assume you want the opinion on the 63 AMG's of the respective generations. W204 is more raw and "unleashed", it is quite a dangerous car to drive, but fun at that. All of them had the M156. It's also smaller, nimbler and stiffer. W212 is much more idiot-proof with all its safety systems and most of them came with 4matic. It's bigger, more comfortable and more suited for long distance highway cruising at high speeds. It still handles brilliantly though and is a true M5 competitor. Early ones had the M156 but they later switched to twin turbo M157 which I think better suits this car, although I personally prefer the M156 just for its sound.

Black and other black or carbon fiber bits were offered. This is the vest model on my opinion, but the interior let's it down. I have updated the GPS to 2020 software and the screen is too small. I onky use GPS and despise using Carplay or Auto in any vehicle. On a last note, I wouldn't get white and try paying for maintenance costs and just used car costs. That 35k plus is a joke. It's going to cost you way more in mileage maintenance, replacements, even oil changes are way more and more than a regular Mercedes high price. M157 engines have a whole host of issues, do your research before buying one of these cars.

    Newer Merc designs all are like smooth blobs, not muscular or aggressive 👎

    Not the best in any world, its predecessor has a way better engine, its successor also has a better engine. The M157 is the worst recent V8 MB made. Moreover, the W222 has a better looking and now their price is similar.

    I found it funny when you said that era of Mercedes had the best build quality when that was literally the worst era of build quality from Mercedes ever,they were so far behind their revils inside, luckily they also had the the best engine by far

      As a potential buyer of an used 2013-2017 CLS 63 AMG S, could you explain that? I'm new to mercedes world, my daily is a 2019 audi SQ7. Thanks.

      @@mortensenvick5711 Mercedes was just cutting more corners when it came to their interior,infact they still.do that today,it looks really good but when you look closer its alota cheap plastic
      However i wouldn't care because atleast that era AMG's were not these rock hard riding cars we have today,they were comfortable and the engine alone makes up for any flaw

    I had a 2016 E63 S, and I now have a 2019. The W212 was a great car, but my 2019 W213 is better. The W213 pre-face is the best E63 they ever made.
