    Hello. Instead of glueing your nails, try hybrid nail techniques sometime. In my opinion, they are more flexible and you have an influence on their hardness. best regards

      Hi Boleslaw, I have literally tried every type of nail solution. This seems to be the only one that works for me.

    Do the fake nails have the same hardness of fingernails/picks? From the video, it did seem a bit more flimsy and pliable. Do you notice and difference in sounds when playing with fake nails?

      It looks like they don’t sell them on Amazon anymore. These seem pretty similar: Feugole French Nail Tips 500PCS... www.amazon.com/dp/B0851B7DS3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    Why glue on first instead of shaping the nail beforehand?

    • @damienkellyguitar
      @damienkellyguitar  3 года назад +1

      It’s a lot easier to shape the nail once it’s glued on, as it is important to get the angle right in relation to the tip of the finger.

    Thanks Damien. How long does it take to apply and remove false nails? How long do they last and will any brand of nail and nail glue do? The clear ones look a bit less obvious!

      Hi Sam. I shot the video in real time so it’s about 15 minutes (a little quicker on a good day). I’ve tried so many brands but the one in the description are best as they don’t look (too) weird and are really cheap. They don’t last that long unfortunately but I’ve experienced that with every brand of nail and also using gel/acrylic nails.

      @@damienkellyguitar Thank you do you just remove them with acetone?

    • @damienkellyguitar
      @damienkellyguitar  3 года назад +1

      They generally just come off by themselves @@sammcconkey8768. I don’t mess around with any other chemicals. Hot water and sweat seems to melt the glue over the course of a few days

      @@damienkellyguitar Thanks for the tip! I can't get that exact brand on Amazon.co.uk but will look for similar Acrylic nails. Thanks again.

    Fake nails sound just too plasticly and metallic for my taste!. Nothing can replicate a warm and round natural sound coming from your own nails, the biological material the nail is made off can not be replicated as yet!.Reason why he didn't test the sound from the fake nail on each string vs his regular nails!

      I have a nail that has developed a fault right from the nail bed so that it splits where it leaves the finger. So real nails are no longer an option for me.

      @@pierre-de-standing Whoa! I recently developed the same problem with my right hand thumb. It's pretty gnarly and practically a deal breaker for "genuine" CG playing.
