After leaving the vibrant streets of Tirana, we found ourselves on a bus weaving through the rugged landscapes toward Ohrid, North Macedonia. In a moment of sheer negligence-or perhaps just absorbed in the journey-I neglected to film the arrival and the bus station, those first raw moments that often tell the truest stories of a place.
But what I did capture are the timeless sights of Ohrid city and its lake. Strolling down the main street, we soaked in the ancient rhythms of a town where every stone has a story.
Ohrid is one of the top destinations in North Macedonia. But it is more than that, Ohrid is a revelation. One of North Macedonia's hidden gems, and also a cheap place to go in the Balkans.
