You want the shortest ground possible and hook it to the chassy not the battery, seat belt bolts work great, and you stole signal without a line convertor? Surprised you didn't hook the remote power wire to your blinker.
Are you getting full bass frequency from hooking up the high level input just to the factory sub wires? I read its best to hook it up to the left and right speakers to get all the frequency range in your sub.
Thanks for the help. I have a 2013 Audi A4 Allroad with one of those crazy spare tire surrounding subwoofers. This premium Bang & Olufsen system sounds great, except the sub is lacking. Gonna replace/supplement it. Thanks again!!!
@@92813justin the sub is in, nice and clean. The best pro tip I got from you was about the quick splice snap wire connectors. Made splicing into my cars audio and 12V accessory wiring sooooo easy. Thanks again!
I'm very confused on how the wire from the cars connect into the subwoofer? I have a left and right cord but not a grey wire and I can't see how you guys connected the wire at the beginning because it didn't look like you guys ever cut into it? Please help lol
Is there a "remote" wire that would turn on an external amplifier on Audi? I cannot find anything, I want to install a passive sub + amp on A6 C6. But, how do I turn the amp on and off with the rest of the system?
Good question actually didnt seem like they had a remote wire hooked up they ran ran the speaker in series with the woofer and supplied power and ground to the amp looks like that amp will always be home its a built in sub + amp
So is it better to get the signal from the L/R speaker wires or from the sub wire? I mean Audi Sound System and B&O have a separate channel for subwoofer in their radio units.
Hello guys i was wondering if its worth getting subwoofer i was allwasy scared we wouldnt hear the bass or anything because it will be in boot. Does it still work good ?
Hi Question maybe u would know, I see u attached to one speaker wire is it the same with after market speakers? And do u hook 1 too pos and the other to neg? Thanks
Hey guys I understand this is 2 years to late but, which wire was the positive and which was negative for the car? Is it Brown=Ground and the white/yellow strip=positive
Damn i didn't know that the battery and the sub were right there in the trunk i was afraid of dismanteling the dash and messing with the electronics but this seems very easy and simple i may do something similar 🤔
What about the remote wire for the amp? I watched the whole video thinking you're going to tell me where the remote wire for the amp is and Nada, zip, zero...zilch.
@@McLovin-rq3ez that’s why the instructions literally say “: When the installation requires a High Level(Speaker) input, the RCA/Speaker Harness will need to be cut on the speaker wire side of the y-splitter.Then connect the white to the left(+), white/black to the left(-), grey to the right(+), and grey/black to the right(-) corresponding vehicle wires.” Got it. Makes sense
Disconnect ur battery before you do anything! The fuse is not to protect ur sub or ur amp it’s to protect ur wire so if ur wire gets damaged and shorts out the fuse will pop. Anything before the fuse will just start a fire good job
You don’t connect the ground to the battery you run it from the ground on ur powered sub to metal on ur car that’s why they gave u a short wire that fucking Audi is going to be a bonfire before long
It's one of the worst taught install videos I've seen 😂 Not disconnecting the battery, connecting the ground back to the amp and not even using a line convertor for the high end signal from the original sub wires which is probably why it sounded shit when they turned it on! That thing is just waiting to blow up... Absolute cowboys 😂
l never understood the point of powered subs, you would get better form factor if you had a separate amp. when you think about it there is no point in having a powered subwoofer.
Wrong title..should be: how not to install a subwoofer...

all these comments have me dying lmfao

In the spare tire compartment there's TWO free bolts that are factory grounds. OP should remove this video... this is embarrasing.
The best ground is on the battery.
@@mussemus9434 You mean the battery that is hooked to the chassy for a ground, is better than the chassy that is the ground?

Where did you hookup the blue amp turn on wire?
Good question actually didnt seem like they had a remote wire hooked up they ran ran the speaker in series with the woofer and supplied power and ground to the amp looks like that amp will always be home its a built in sub + amp
You do still need the remote blue wire to turn the amp on otherwise will drain the battery fast.
@@audis4guy this sub has an auto remote switch on, no remote wire required. It turns on when it detects audio

What gauge is your power and ground cable for the battery?
What can i do, if my sub only have + and - cables. No Power cables nothing.... can i try to put it in the side mount?(where the sub should go )

No... use at least 7mm^2 wires

so you took sound from stock sub to the new one?
Matias Karhu, just the signal so the sun knows when to bump

Why did you only hook up one channel? That adapter is meant for positive and negative from left and right
You only need 1 channel to trigger the input as there is no left and right.
