ironically, Im a native Dallasite that likes Houston better, mainly because of the ship channel. I remember when I lived in the homestead area of north houston, I would go down to buffalo creek right before it spills into the ship channel and watch the ships at night
You'd love it here, I think. It's like, say, Edmonton on a much larger scale. and that building is the Omni Hotel, one of Dallas's premier lodgings, which often has colorful designs or messages cheering on sports teams and such. Definitely adds to the cityscapes noteworthy flashiness.
Houston looks more impressive (taller, newer buildings and a more central cluster of attractions make for a more active Downtown), but it trails Dallas in surrounding neighborhoods (Dallas's neighborhoods immediately outside downtown make for a more cohesive and impactful entire city center).
Mighty fine video. Born and raised in Dallas, but haven't drove downtown at night in many, many moons. Sure looks dazzlin' don't it !! Seen many changes in Dallas in my 64 years here, but seeing your video sure makes me proud. Many THANKS for the view.
What a fantastic tour!!!! I have visited the US many time and always thought I left my hart in New York....................then I went to Dallas!!!! Fantastic place with such friendly people 😜
i'm in love with this city. i watch this video every single night in hopes i can visit there again someday. ive lived in vegas my whole life but for some reason dallas feels like home. your dallas videos just bring me such sadness and happiness at the same time. thanks for the great videos brotha.
omg wow! One day I was driving from my home in Austin to a hotel in northern Dallas via the I-35 N highway. I was driving and at about 8:30 P.M, I noticed a tall building with green lighting, and I thought...what is that (it was the Bank of America Plaza)? For about 10 mins I drove north, not knowing how close I was to Dallas downtown. then, I saw many other buildings near it. I wondered if really that was Dallas downtown. When we finally approached the skyline, I can't explain in words how amazing it looked, so many tall buildings all lit, SO close to me. It's different than actually being IN downtown because I was able to see nearly every significant building. The best part is when we drove 15 feet from the Reunion Tower...wow. Dallas has the best skyline in the U.S. in my opinion. (The same thing happened to me when I was driving from downtown Austin to home, except it wasn't this close up, and the Austin skyline isn't as beautiful as Dallas)
Stop lying... you've never been to Flrodia or California to have said that. Dallas has to rank low in the US in terms of appeal. I would say its the Southern version of St. Louis but with LA zoning. If there was a beach near Austin , then yeah it would be like Vegas. ..but DALLAS, GTFOH...where do you want to put that beach at ... in Irving or Oakcliff( **( I mean BISHOP ARTS**)
Dallas and Oklahoma City were THE ONLY TWO CITIES that i have been to in America! :(((( BUT DALLAS WAS AMAZING!! :) I miss the place so bad! It was a real city
Ling DaSweetPie Oh, what country are you in? And did you enjoy Oklahoma city too? Lol, I'm just curious. Most of my family is from Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Los Angeles.
IKR. I don't live in Phoenix, but I saw the downtown of Phoenix and it looks boring as hell. If Phoenix want to look different from most American cities, it would need to have an innovative downtown like Dallas, Houston, NYC, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
I would like to see videos of Stemmons Freeway I-35E. I only drove on it from I-30 to Mockingbird Lane, just across from the left exit for TX-183 to Irving.
Stemmons is a perpetual construction hell right now, I'd wait until after the new managed lanes north of I-635 are done. The downtown approach on it is amazing though. that being said, I-35E south of downtown will be a video of mine soon.
People don't realize how massive this city is. Just passed 7.3 million this month. The amount of new construction is insane and will take your breath away. The economy is fantastic and the best in the country. Dallas ranked second in the country in new high-rise office space and only second to New York but barely second.
People also don't realize how massive this city is in terms of sq miles. Everything is really spread out and since all the suburbs are connected together you can drive for hours in a general direction and still be in "Dallas."
Just awesome. Crane City! You can see the 30 story+ towers still growing in this vid. (Katy Station and Bleu Ciel) They are much taller now. Two 40 story towers now proposed in downtown.(Update: They are now FAA approved and AMLI 46 story has broken ground!) Excellent video as always!
Great work JD! Dallas is quite the impressive city at night. I was surprised to see such an extensive rail network for a Texas town. Fitting place to end the video at the "grassy knoll".
Regardless of historical events, it's a very convenient place to leave town. Thanks for watching, it's truly amazing to see Dallas transform into such a dazzling city after dusk.
I remember when Deep Ellum was not nice at all. It was pretty nasty. It's really come a long way. Dallas just keeps getting better and better. LOVE IT!
You should do an another Dallas City Center video, with the addition of the rentable scooters “foot” traffic has increased tremendously, and the city has done a great job urbanizing the Main Street District by updating the parks and the roads, as well as making it more pedestrian-friendly; they’ve done such a good job that walking in that area gives me Chicago/NYC vibes.
by chance are you kinda close to the great southwest industrial district in GP/Arlington? I used to work at a factory there and you could see downtown Dallas from a hill right off 60 and whatever lamar turns into going east out of arlington into GP
I love this camera! only problem is it only films for 30 minutes at one time, but the picture quality is outstanding both for stills and video. Picked it up for a discount as well. For the most part its very comfortable for filming roads.
Itz Pro Them too. I have a rivalry problem with Houston as well. Now do I actually hate the city? Absolutely not, but I must remember and rep where I came from and Houston just ain’t the place. It right there in the Big D.
You know, why doesn't Dallas ever expand to the south? In any other direction you go, there's a ton of development (Weatherford to the west, Sulphur Springs to the east, and Sherman to the north), but the development south cuts off at the Ellis county line.
Idk for sure, I believe it has something to do with the amount of industrial buildings combined with being near a "worse" part of Dallas that doesn't exactly sprur growth over there- developers don't have nearly as much incentive to build there, less offices, not as many good schools, etc. That being said, the 35E corridor is decent and if Sherman or Sulphur Springs count then surely Ennis and and Waxahachie do as well.
I actually went to Dallas yesterday! I'm the guy in the blue sweater you might have seen stopping on I-35 E to take pictures. GO COWBOYS, GET REVENGE ON THE GIANTS! Sunday 12-11-2016, game's on right now on NBC as I type this.
Everyone loves the cowboys here Regardless, but the mania here is at unprecedented levels now because they're good again this year, lol. thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed your time here :)
Dallas looks beautiful. I'm from H-Town but sending much love to our Texas neighbor
Mr Luke Is Speaking much respect glad to see someone from Houston not hating on dallas lol but houston is a beautiful city also
Love the DFW.
@@jaleeldean8407 i am from Colombia but y been at Houston and i can Say that is better than Dallas

Wow Dallas is a LOT more urban than I had imagined. I loved that LED lighting on the building near the beginning of the video with the writing in it.
You'd love it here, I think. It's like, say, Edmonton on a much larger scale. and that building is the Omni Hotel, one of Dallas's premier lodgings, which often has colorful designs or messages cheering on sports teams and such. Definitely adds to the cityscapes noteworthy flashiness.

lol how did you imagine it? Dallas is the 4th largest metro area in the US..
Trans Canada Phil I know right:D
outside of downtown and a bit of uptown dallas is as suburban as can be

Downtown Dallas is so beautiful at night. I enjoyed my recent trip there. Thanks Dallas!
Thank you for this video! I miss Dallas alot! It's my favorite and in my opinion the best city in the country.

This is why I ride a motorcycle in Dallas. I love to ride at night and cruise around downtown, the architecture is so amazing.

Awesome video of Dallas thanks for posting
This is always the city of my dreams I wish I can go there one day
Where do you live?
I was there twice and miss it.
Thanks for sharing. The video show how lively some of the areas in Dallas are.
ive been to mexico florida california..nothing beats dallas...if there was a beach nearby i truly beleive it would b a #1 destination next to vegas

Very Futuristic keep it up
I love Dallas so much ❤❤ used to live in Garland but I visited downtown often. I sure miss it 😭
Really liked the pace of the video and also the trivial information at the bottom.

Great video! Now this is what you call a real city. I wish Phoenix had a downtown like this
Thanks. Cities like Boston and Chicago are really urban and make people from Dallas like me feel the same way, lol.
And keep in mind this isn't even the whole city. Centers of activity in other parts. :)
IKR. I don't live in Phoenix, but I saw the downtown of Phoenix and it looks boring as hell. If Phoenix want to look different from most American cities, it would need to have an innovative downtown like Dallas, Houston, NYC, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
I wish Denver's downtown had lighting like Dallas. Downtown Denver looks plain and dark at night
Phoenix has height restrictions... it's also even more sprawlled out/suburban than Dallas.
Awesome production JD ! Very informational & classy video. Big thumbs up :)
Thank you for your kind words!
Not to mention the awesome songs too :)
Wow! I fell in love!
nice view. music is great. DALLAS WENT a year ago. before that 1983. boy has it changed the freeways are very advanced. love it.

if the south grew like the north then it would be making bank as a 6 to 8 lane tollway :)))
