You guys need to do more of these. Round table of a focused idea maybe for 10-20 minutes. 20 minutes on water. 20 minutes on shelter. 20 minutes on Short term food storage and rotation. 20 minutes on long term food storage... and on and on. Just an unbelievable wealth of knowledge on that stage.
I could listen to this group of 4 talk for days. What a wealth of thought provoking conversation about not just preparedness in the physical form but the psychology necessary to put it into action. All the wisdom mixed with 4 stand up comic level personalities makes it extremely enjoyable to listen to. Well done! 💪🏼
I've only shot one young buck, don't know if I could shoot another after several harrowing moments of looking one another straight in the eye wondering to ourselves if we would die from our wounds or from falling off the cliff, and if we'd do it together or leave the other behind...I 'm confident that I could skin out anything from a dove to a bovine with assistance from good lighting, a good sharp knife and a strong helper!
My son hunts on a neighbor's land. He hung them up from the forks of a tractor. I wanted to learn because we have goats, and they don't do me as much good if I can only milk them. I had skinned a rat in biology class back in high school, and skinning a fresh deer was a bit harder, but we only lost about 1 cell layer off a small section. I also stretched and scraped part of the hide. I didn't finish it, as I have a lot going on, but going forward, I understand the concept and can at least use the leather for projects like insulation of an out building or something.
Any new folks to prepping learn from Alan and others, and try to lean more toward being the calm quiet “grey man” unless you feel like god is pushing you to be a warrior. Plenty of information out there. Stay away from giant ego’s and squeaky wheels like “Bear”. He’s in the entertainment business. But, to be fair his medical kits are top notch. Peace and love!

I create an excel sheet with fire, water, food, shelter, communications, protection, and security categories. I apply the PACE acronym to each. Apply red/yellow/green to whether it’s completed and tested to each of those. Focus on making the red’s turn yellow in the short-term. 2. Attend at least one on-site/hands-on training in one of the categories annually. I you can afford more - great. 3. Build your network through various hobbies, sports, events, and places. Find people within those things that share a common ambition.

You are going to need one and as you establish one the importance of it to your daily life will increase. The rest of the needed preparations become more obvious as your group learns together.
Well ... I prep & have stored food, gardens, make my own soaps, etc. I also have 6 kiddos. My parents laugh at me and think I'm a bit crazy BUT at the same time I'd share whatever resources I have available with them if SHTF.

Alan Kay. I would like to Learn from you. I feel like i have a very similar mentality but a "younger package". If i could afford to be in an area around you but not rely on you for anything but knowledge could I? Bear I'd like to learn from you too. If you wanna make the world a better place take a look in the mirror and make a change. That's what I'm looking to do. you 2 seem like the most similar mentalities that I would like to learn from. I've had no father guidance sense age 14 but have "Learned" a lot but have not Practiced and I would like to be taught and pushed in a way. I really have nothing where I currently am. I'm looking for growth and am Shamefully asking for help. I'd rather do it all alone but know that I'm not ready. I realize you could help me and I Would do almost anything in order to Absorb your knowledge. both of you. I have enough gear to live out a back pack. not by your standards but by yours and mine. I live in one of the Coldest climates and can deal with it. and if not ill freeze. but I'm confident to not. I'm thinking about getting a butchering job to practice my skills in food procurement. I'm looking at buying some land and raising some Cows, Chickens, Potatoes, Onions, Peppers, Spinach, Lettuce, apples, Oranges but realize in current climate I can't unless green house, ginger, and some seasonings.
@Keith Brooks I'm Looking to build out a truck or van and do a tour of a few potential areas to buy land. While on the tour I'd like to meet up with Some Farmers and Homesteaders to get some in person advice and experience. I like to have a home to go back to but having a portable home would be nice for a while so I don't have to drain my income on Hotels. Thought maybe if i go through their area I could stop by and learn from their experiences as I've watched many of this channels videos.
Sometimes it is not you, most of my friends and and family have the mindset of an old coworker of mine. He could never understand why people wasted their time hunting and fishing when you could just go to the store and buy it. I often wonder what he did when there was no more toilet paper. Some like thd idea but don't want to put in the work.
Hmmmmmm…. Interesting. I don’t know much about this other than what I just learned from the video. In my experience BDU has been very good to me and is surely pro 2A. I do question some of their decisions based on what you have sent me but I will need to investigate further to develop my own opinion. Thanks.

I have opened my home up to lots of people, had bon fires, range days, camping trips, etc. you can learn a lot about a person just sitting around a fire. Doing this has allowed me to crest some really good friendships with trustworthy people.
