People always talk about the ship with Soma, but I think I'm more interested in her making friends with the Polaris Dorm crew and becoming part of the group. The Polaris Dorm cast of culinary crazies is this show/manga's not-quite-secret weapon.
I couldn't agree more. Erina's character development in this show is second to none, by an absolute light-year. Her becoming more friendly and relaxed when she met Yukihira's friend group is amazing. One of the best decisions the author has made is to introduce Erina into her group from a narrative viewpoint. It's such a heartwarming thing to witness.
Slowly, Erina learns the purpose of her God Tounge more. It's to judge the dish, but not to give verdict but to point out rooms for improvement instead. You can see the Polar Star Dorm students bring her their prized dishes which they pour heart and soul to master.
I liked when Erina was sharing with Hisako how surprised and impressed she was at how everyone responded to her critiques of their food they wanted to her to taste. So sure she was at knowing what to do that she was legit surprised when not only did they do something else, the flavor was somehow better. What's really smart and nice about this is Erina likely expected disappointment or anger for her frank words but instead every resident at Polar Star Dormitory embraced it full on and kept trying. It's a beautiful thing to see character in an anime who aren't going to stop at improvement in the face of insurmountable odds.
honestly I wonder about her drinking some water though, cause that is sometimes really annoying. If a normal person can be sensitive to the flavors of water, I wonder what about her and if she only drinks from her favorite water bottle company or something
When you think Erina would feel a bit more comfortable with someone she used to see pretty often being part of Elite Ten lived in the dormitory, but then she found out how weird Ishikki is 🤣🤣🤣
They kind of ruined this scene. They didn't show Hisako's fond smile towards Erina when she said she changed. That showed that this scene was supposed to be taken a bit more seriously but the music ruined it. They also took out Souma telling Hisako that she also mellowed out.
The truth is nakiri senzaemon requested saiba to enter his son on a culinary school in order to rescue erina against her dad thats why erina will probably fall for soma.
