Triplets. Start slow, then gradually speed up until you are tripletting as fast as you possibly can. Then jump up like you just scored a touchdown and hit a gong. You're welcome. :D

lol Pretty much EVERY rock drummer in the 70's - 90's. I dunno if it's weird for a drummer to hate drum solos, but I HAAAATE drum solos. Drums without musical accompaniment is just noise as far as I'm concerned. Audiences seem to like them, so I understand why they're done, but personally I have no use for them.

I started playing in the late 60's when I was 12. I never felt creative but can play along with almost anything very accurately. Never did a solo lol. This is going to help me try to get a creative feeling. Very good video!

I played thousands of gigs over a couple of decades and only had occasion to play a solo once. I always try to avoid them, but this situation was unavoidable so I ran with it. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t enjoyable. Now I’m retired and I don’t solo on my own at home either. I’ve always thought of drums as accompaniment and that’s where they belong

Hey bro just happened upon your channel and liked it right away. You don’t just start off playing like you’re showing off and you know, talk real fast like everybody knows what you’re talking about. You sound real down-to-earth and like I’m in the same room with you. Really approachable, major plus for me. I just liked and subscribed, and I do that very conservatively.

Thank You Sir for i learned a lot on how to play drums. I am a member of a local group here in our place playing on drums for how many years, but still my kind of drumming is not good, i feel always a beginner yes and that is true. Even those kids that i've meet they played on drums much better than me because they were learned it on a musical school and that is why i considered them comparing to myself that they were good in playing drums, whew. In my time way back then no internet yet, i just listen to the cartridges how to play drums using my ears to play it to and fro, hehe. But now i've found your channel and try to listen to you and watching your hands how to play it. I dont know on my age now if i can play it a little good hehe, but i learned some simple scales here Sir, thank you.. (Subscribed) "Island of Mindanao Here, Philippines" ❤❤❤

    Here's another good technique/strategy:
Playing jazz? Get a trumpet player with you and practice "trading 4's or 8's.
Playing Rock or country? same thing with a guitar player.

hi.. the over head shot is actually not very good to see what you are doing. It would be better to see a side view. In this example to see which strokes are accented.

Despite growing up in the Ginger Baker, John Bonham era, I personally have never been a fan of drum solos. Generally speaking I’ve looked at drum solos as “filler” material or as just a chance for the drummer to show off. Most of the time the solos are much too long and unless everyone in the crowd is “stoned as a chicken” they just wish it was over. I tend to feel the same way about extended guitar solos.

Point of clarification ... WHY are 'guitar solos' played with full band accompaniment, but then the LEAST MELODIC instrument is required/expected to carry the audience's interest All By itself? I think that's a silly concept and yes - I find all drum solos mostly borrrring... especially the 'see how fast I can hit stuff' drummers with little sense of actual music. Just ONE OLD DRUMMER'S opinion.
