Tenor Choir Practice: “Credo” from “Missa Brevis in C major” , KV 220 /196b , Mass No. 9, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1775 in Salzburg. The mass is festively scored like a Missa solemnis with brass and timpani in addition to four solists, strings and organ. The chorus dominates, especially in the Gloria and the Credo. This mass is often called "Spatzenmesse" or "Sparrow Mass" because of the violin figures in the Sanctus and Benedictus, which is thought to resemble the graceful sound of a sparrow chirping.
    Latin:
Confiteor unum baptisma in remissionem peccatorum. Et expecto resurrectionem mortuorum. Et vitam venturi saeculi. Amen.
    English:
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of earth and heaven, of all things seen and unseen. Begotten of the Father before all worlds. God from Gods, Light from light, true God from true God. Begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, through Him all things were made. For us and for our salvation He came down from heaven. And was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary. And was made man. Crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, he suffered, and was buried. And on the third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and he sits at the right hand of the Father. He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; and of his kingdom there will be no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son who together with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who spoke to us through the Prophets. And I believe in one, holy, catholic and Apostolic Church. I believe in the forgiveness of sins and the life everlasting. Amen.
