So beautiful, I always end up having tears rolling down my cheeks after about the second line he sings. What a talent. You’re never forgotten, Mr Sinatra 🧡

fortuitous timing that a thunderstorm would breakout just as he starts this number...then literally a minute afterwards when he steps outdoors, the rain has stopped and is all dried up, despite there being no sun available that evening. Clearly Mother Nature was like all the other broads and had tremendous respect for this man.

and there are so many other great numbers in the same mood he could have sung like "In the Wee small hours of the morning" and "This Love of Mine". He doesn't just sing a song he tells you a sad sad story

Sinatra was past his singing prime when this was recorded. However, he was so much more than a singer. As an artist, this is peak Sinatra. Peerless.

Sinatra still had his great voice and range until about 1973. This was in 1968.

Sinatras "prime"....was from 54 to 62......but he still was capable of great performances into the early 70's.....and even a bit vocally diminished he was far more impressive than any other pop singer ...in fact his 1985 show in Japan is considered one of his greatest concerts he ever performed

@@frankmanno1584 Sinatras greatest achievement post 62 is his 1965 album sept. of my years....he would never again record an album that equalled it...i would agree his live performances up till about 71....73 were still great and as he aged....the quality of his live concerts very often depended on the night he performed...but even a vocally diminished Sinatra was heads above most others since no one.....could interpret a song as good as he could...and that is the essence of singing...

Great song from a failed show. It took years for it to become 2:21 well known and covered by people like Sinatra, Nat King Cole etc.
