What a match, insane rallies! 🔥🔥🔥 Gauzy and Harimoto, 2 of my absolute favorites. Gauzy with such spectacular shots as always. Agonizing defeat for Simon. He and Xu Xin are the TT artists of their generation. Will be sad the day he follows Xuperman into retirement. For now though, I can hardly wait to see him on the big stage in front of the home crowd in Paris.
Simon's game plan and use of service in the first 2 games was clear, great tactical plan and technique. His change in the balance of the match clearly showed a deviation of his tactical plan and began to play Harimoto's game. Great game but the importance of focus and mental fortitude clearly displayed here. Both players were evenly match the winnet here was determined by the ability to make the necessary adjustment. Well done Harimoto

If Harimoto were to play Xu Xin today, I think he'll still have a tough time beating Xu Xin considering both Xu Xin and Gauzy has some similar styles Harimoto had so much trouble receiving Gauzy's service especially underspin serves many of his receives went straight to the net.
@@rhyzekarnage7154 Because the new generation young players like Harimoto and Lin Yun-Ju play close to the table quick counter style especially Harimoto who sometimes use punch or aggressive blocking but this style doesn't work that well against Xu Xin who has extremely spinny loop and can cover far away from the table, let's just say at least Harimoto and Lin Yun-Ju hasn't beaten Xu Xin yet anyway.
Simon was so close and treated us with sweet moves but Harimoto made quite a difficult comeback. It's not a first for Gauzy to lead like that and losing, i feel for him.
Congrats to the screamer! Gauzy was afraid to use his goto power forehands. That was how he lost the 3rd game of this match. Almost all of the great champions have powerful forehands as their winning strokes.
Come on Gauzy... 😢.. You were almost there... You let the 3rd game slip easily... You could have fought that game a bit tightly n you could have had it all.... Losing a few points in row n a game inturn costed you the whole match... Harimoto regained his temperament from there... Feeling sorry for you 😢
The first set has to be one of the most perfect table tennis set played ever. In the 3rd set Harimoto changed his serve pace by throwing the ball up higher, resulting in different dynamics. Simon failed a couple of balls from that. After that, the 4th set was a nightmare for him. I think Simon should have changed the ball placement and stop attacking so relentlessly. Lot of unforced errors from that. Nice match!
Ugh... just couldn't close the win Simon :( HT has troubles against anyone with somewhat of an unorthodox style and play spin focused game. Xu Xin focuses on spin as well which is why HT couldn't beat him.

Poor Simon! Man I was hoping to see him defeat screamamoto! No one annoys me more in table tennis and I want anyone to put him out just so I don’t have to hear his mouth lol! Simon is a thrill to watch and I hope he continues to progress
Adult Harimoto is so weird to watch. It's like the fading of his naive child-like confidence left him two-sided. Sometimes he looks like he came from heaven, when he crushes those counter top spins with ease or flicks back whatever serve. But sometimes he looks like he came from Manchuria, a barbarian who thinks hitting the ball harder is his only option.
